That’s what I was like last night. I’m so happy, I met my 500 words
on the dot.-

November 1, 2024 at 6:50 pm #188969I was writing mine yesterday, but after 45 minutes I was at 1,610, and now I’m wondering when a short story stops being a short story and becomes a novella.
Is there a word limit?
Man is born for the fight, to be forged and molded into a sharper, finer, stronger image of God
November 1, 2024 at 6:54 pm #188970Yeah, mine is hitting 1,500+. A novella is more like 10,000+. I don’t think it takes too long to read a couple thousand words personally, this would be more up to Rae. 😅

November 1, 2024 at 7:16 pm #188974Okay good. I’ll keep going then.

November 1, 2024 at 7:18 pm #188975We should probably keep it under 3000 for the judge’s sake.

November 1, 2024 at 7:26 pm #188976I totally vibe with you guys!
I started writing a short story for this prompt for funzies (obviously I won’t enter it) and I just got it set up for my charrie to describe what happened and I’m at 1,000+! XD
Why I rarely write 500 word short stories!
As long as your story is between 500 and 10,000 words, and is about the prompt of course, I don’t care.

November 1, 2024 at 7:35 pm #188978TO EVERYONE WHO IS DOING THIS PROMPT:
(sorry, I don’t know all who’s doing this)
Just a few things, they aren’t vitality important, just a few fyi’s.
- 500 words or more. Under 10,000 though.
- I’m your judge if you didn’t know already, and I will only be judging by content and how easy it is to understand the story. Don’t worry too hard about typos, I’m not gonna count. Please do edit them if you catch them obviously
- When I do judge after everyone has submitted, I’ll read through each story at least twice and let you know what I thought was done well and what wasn’t. On this I will base my decision for the winner.
- If you have any questions, tag me
I think that’s all I wanted to say.
Thx.

#AnduthForever (hopefully💕)November 1, 2024 at 8:47 pm #188994*cough* Imagine being motivated. *cough*
When’s the deadline? And do we post the story itself, or a link?
I, for one, really like Roman numerals.
November 1, 2024 at 10:11 pm #188998The deadline is November 9th.
You can do either one, just make sure the link works correctly if you decide upon that route.
Does that help?

Yes! That sounds like a good idea!
