Some people were asking for the prompt now, so here it is!
@power I love how you used a Bible verse for the prompt…so I wanted to copy that. It made me dig into the verse to understand what it was talking about. The New Years Story Prompt:
Micah 7:8 Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise. When I sit in darkness, the Lord WILL be a light to me.
There’s no deadline currently, so feel free to just chew on it, or if you already know what you’re going to write about, you can go ahead!
I’ll check back when we’re into New Year for a bit for the deadline.

Woah. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book described as “stressful”. In what way is it stressful?
So, what are your top favorite books? (in order)

December 29, 2024 at 4:18 pm #193159Who wrote True to the Last? I may have read it.
Evelyn Everett-Green. It’s a Lamplighter book.
Oh, if you love dogs, especially German Shepherds, Scout is a must-read! I was pretty young when I first read it, and after reading the book, German Shepherds became my favorite dog breed forever. Truly, it still is. I still really want to own a German Shepherd dog named Scout.
Old Bones is a biography about a remarkable racehorse! I’m not sure if you’re into racehorses or not, but after reading his book, Old Bones aka Exterminator became my favorite racehorse. The amazing thing about him was that he had been named as a bad racer (he was gangly and boney), but he grew to become an amazing racer! He raced far longer than many other horses. Most race horses race about 1-5 years, but Old Bones went far longer…and won many times against lighter and younger horses than he.
Hornblower is an older series about a British navy officer during the Napoleon wars. I first watched the TV series before reading some of the books. I love the show!
