Wow. I haven’t posted on here in a looooong time, but in the meantime I’ve been busy! Now that I’ve finished all the memorization required for Bible Bee, I decided to post it here as an encouragement + motivation for y’all. 😀
These are the passages I’ve memorized recently:
Colossians 1:16, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Genesis 1:1-5, Psalm 29:3-4, Genesis 1:10-16, Psalm 104:31-32, Genesis 1:24-28, Matthew 25:23, Genesis 2:2-3, Hebrews 4:4-7, Genesis 3:1-4, Luke 4:6-8, Genesis 3:15, Romans 5:18-21 and have almost memorized Genesis 1, I just have to quote it. 😀

July 7, 2017 at 7:11 pm #36556I just finished memorizing Romans 1-3. My goal is to memorize the entire book of Romans, because I think it contains a lot of excellent witnessing verses. My problem is retaining Scripture. I find that once I’ve memorized several books, I have trouble reviewing them all regularly enough because it just takes so long. Does anyone have tips on that?

Find me at hisinstrumentblog.wordpress.comJuly 7, 2017 at 8:34 pm #36561@his-instrument Well, if you have Scripture Typer, then the verses will become un-current so that you have to review them again, which helps you store then in long-term memory.
If you don’t want to use Scripture Typer, then you can set a schedule for yourself. Like, this day of the week I’m going to review this book, and this day, I’ll do that book or set of verses or something like that.Oh, and are we still on for beta-reading? Sorry it’s been taking me so long. I can tag Hope, and she can arrange something between us??? And if not, I get that too. 😀 No worries, or shall I say, Hakuna Matata!

July 7, 2017 at 9:15 pm #36565Thanks for the tip, @dragon-snapper! And I’d love to have you beta-read or do a manuscript swap if you’re still willing. You can go to the contact page at my website, hisinstrumentblog.wordpress.com, and give me your email that way. Or if you’d rather, we can go through Hope Ann.

July 8, 2017 at 9:35 am #36570@his-instrument, @dragon-snapper *springs to attention* Did someone call? Beta reading and email exchanges, is it? I think you’ve already emailed Kingdom Pen with your email, @dragon-snapper. You can do the same thing, @his-instrument. Just email Kingdompenmag@gmail.com and give me your real name and forum name so I know who you are, then I can email you each others emails. 😉

July 13, 2017 at 2:50 pm #36880I’ve never posted here before, but I guess I’ll just jump right in…?
I’ve been working through 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus over the past month with a goal of memorizing one verse that stands out to me a week.
1 Thessalonians 2:4
“For just as we have been approved of by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak not to please man, but to please God who test our hearts.”1 Timothy 1:15
“The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance that Christ Jesus came to the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.”2 Timothy 1:7
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power, of love, and of self-control.”2 Timothy 2:22
“So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.”
Titus 1:2
“In hope of eternal life which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began.”*is probably geeking out about something*
July 14, 2017 at 3:26 pm #37175@kina-lamb @graciegirl @dragon-snapper – I love seeing the verses you have all memorized! I have been wanting to memorize more too, so this is encouraging!
