(I made a new topic so that we don’t take over the snowball fight.)
This is amazing! I never met anyone else who read these!!
I LOVE The Treacherous Trail. I think my very favorite might have to be Hunting in the Highlands though. We’re Scottish, so I love it, and I love the Child soldier camp and Alastair is amazing!!! I love that boy so much and I wish he would come into the series more!!! Then Rescued in the Rockies…… oh that one made me tear up a lot! Such a good book!
btw, am I the only person pairing Abby and Rolf?
Well, a baker’s dozen is 13, but when I looked it up it doesn’t seem like there’s even a mention of book nine. It’s been so long that I have the feeling she’s done. *sobs*
It’s not the worst ending though. Think if the series had ended when Jigson died!!!

Oh my gosh! I was thinking of making the same thing!!!!!! YES! A topic 100% dedicated to BFA craziness!

Oh yes! My older sister loves that part of it, too.
btw, am I the only person pairing Abby and Rolf?
Oh no. I think they’ve got to be a pair, too!!!! Some people think it’ll be Furgus and Abby (because of book 8), but they’re are too much like each other. Rolf and Abby are such a perfect match

Oh right! I forgot that a Baker’s dozen is 13! I know, she hasn’t posted anything for years…but I still think she’s not done. I’m actually thinking of sending her an email asking about book 9!

December 27, 2024 at 10:38 am #192991It’s not the worst ending though. Think if the series had ended when Jigson died!!!
Oh my gosh. That would make me cry so badly!
My siblings and I are adamant that Fergus must go and find Alastair! I mean, Jigson started telling him about a certain King…so there’s got to be more! And we don’t know what happened to Tristan, Cassidy, and all the other camp children after it was shut down!
And there’s got to be more to Rolf’s story as well…(end of book 8), and the relationship between Phil and Briosa has to be sealed!!! There’s even more story to be written about Miss Verton!

Me too!!!!!!!! Now you are really my favorite KPer to snowball. I was hoping on finding some people during CWW who read them, but now I’ve found you!!!!!! It’s amazing!

December 27, 2024 at 10:42 am #192993I KNOW!!!!
We need The Hunt For Alastair, or something like that. Maybe Fergus and Jigson team up to find him!!
No, no, no! No Fergus and Abby. They would never work. They would kill each other! Rolf just seems so alive when he’s around Abby, and Abby seems so grown up around Rolf. Think of him coming into the kitchen of their own home and kissing his sweet “Ebby” Ahhhhhhh!!!!! It must happen!
There is so much left untold!!!!
oh, btw, did you think Jigson really died at the end of Prisoner of the Pyrenees?

Gahahaha!!! It’s sounds like Legolas and Aragorn looking for Gollum!
No, no, no! No Fergus and Abby. They would never work. They would kill each other!
Wait…seriously? Kill each other? But I totally agree. They wouldn’t make the best match.
Rolf just seems so alive when he’s around Abby, and Abby seems so grown up around Rolf.
I know! I know! They’re SO perfect for each other! One person said on C.R. Hedgecock’s website, that Rolf only really listens to Abby!
Think of him coming into the kitchen of their own home and kissing his sweet “Ebby” Ahhhhhhh!!!!! It must happen!
Oh my gosh! It’s too sweet! Hey…when you said this something struck me. Do you like Rolf so much because he’s German? *grin* I mean, this just reminds me of your German couple!
oh, btw, did you think Jigson really died at the end of Prisoner of the Pyrenees?
Well, he appeared in the very end…however, at the death scene…nope. That’s only because I had older siblings who’d already read the books and told me what happened!!!
However, if they hadn’t told me I think I would have believed it. I would have cried a lot. I think even though I knew what was going to happen, there was still a lump in my throat. I mean, the scene where Abby gallops away on Arrow…*sob* it’s so heartbreaking!
Speaking of heartbreaking story endings, have you ever read John J. Horn’s books? C.R. Hedgecock highly recommends them. And he’s my favorite author next to C.R. Hedgecock…and and Given Hoffman.

Is that good or bad? lolol
Alastair isn’t Gollum! *gasp* how horrid!
Hey…when you said this something struck me. Do you like Rolf so much because he’s German? *grin* I mean, this just reminds me of your German couple!
giggles sheepishly.
Well, being German as well as Scottish, I have a special place for Scots and Germans. Though I may be partial to German boys……. lolololol. But no, Rolf being German is just the icing to a very well done character cake! But I will say my initial attraction to his character was the fact he was German, which I guessed before the Bakers did.
Oh I know. I cried! And the funeral really hurts.
Speaking of heartbreaking story endings, have you ever read John J. Horn’s books?
No, but I’m intrigued!
Oh, where is Phil in your favorites? I LOVE Phil! He and Alastair vie for first place in my affections.

It’s not that Alastair is Gollum. Just the name “The Hunt for Alastair” brought “The Hunt for Gollum” to mind.

I totally get it. For some reason, I like German guy characters as well. Weird. But yes! I love his character arc! He’s a very proud and arrogant fellow but extremely humorous as well! Abby and him are perfect.
No, but I’m intrigued!
Oooh! Go check them out! There are four books total, for now, but book 1,2,3 and so much better than book 4. They are so amazing! John J. Horn crafts amazing characters like C. R. Hedgecock!
Oh! I’ve started listening to the Maritime series! I’m greatly enjoying it!
Oh, where is Phil in your favorites? I LOVE Phil! He and Alastair vie for first place in my affections.
Hmm… well, lets see:
1. Rolf
2. Briosa
3. Jigson
4. Fergus and Alastair! It’s hard to tell between the two. But I think Alastair is higher up.
5. Phil
Sorry…he’s a bit down there.

December 27, 2024 at 11:14 am #193002By the way, how many siblings do you have? Are you the oldest?
I have four siblings: two older sisters, one older brother, and one younger sister.
I’m right in between my brother and younger sister.

LUCKYYYYYYY!!!!! That’s why I like Phil so much. He’s my fictional older brother.
I’m the oldest with two younger brothers and a younger sister.
My friend actually had Summer of Suspense and lent it to me. I liked it so much I looked up the author to see if she wrote anything else, and then I discovered it was a series!
Oh! I’ve started listening to the Maritime series! I’m greatly enjoying it!
Yes! Those are so good!
Hey, my brother and I created a BFA character quiz! want me to send it to you!!!??

Okay! Well, I often wished my brother was older than me because since we’re right next to each other, I often felt we were the same age! That was when we were younger. Now, he’s older and matured a lot, so I do feel more like he’s an older brother. We’re opposites, but I look up to him for many things.
My friend actually had Summer of Suspense and lent it to me. I liked it so much I looked up the author to see if she wrote anything else, and then I discovered it was a series!
Neat! My older sister found the first book at a small bookstore. She bought it and couldn’t put it down after beginning to read it! Then we had to buy the rest of them.
Hey, my brother and I created a BFA character quiz! want me to send it to you!!!??
Sure!!!!! Sounds fun! By the way, how do you create those kinds of quizzes?
Did you know that on C. R. Hedgecock’s website, there is quite a lot of fanfiction? I actually browsed through most of them and collected them into a file. If you want, I could send some to you. Most of them aren’t finished, and they definitely aren’t as good as the books…but it’s still cool to read about your favorite characters!

You HAVE to read them if you haven’t read them before.
