Hmm, it sounds good. Personally, sacrifice is one of my favorite themes; along with strength in weakness, redemption, consecration, and loyalty. Cats are hilariously wonderful, and have fun with the name!
You’re welcome, anytime. 😉

November 15, 2021 at 4:53 pm #107265@elishavet-pidyon What about you? What are you currently working on?
Lately, it's been on my brain

If hours don't turn into daysNovember 15, 2021 at 6:07 pm #107272I’m trying to solidify my main characters.
Victor/Amichai: needs a better character arc, lie, and, well, I’m still not sure if he’s my MC.
Alyona: needs a purpose. WHO IS SHE SUPPOSED TO BE?
Reuben: does he die or not? Why does he die if he does?
Aethelthryth: needs a struggle, purpose, a calling. I’m still trying to work out where she needs to go etc.
Other than that I aught to be writing my first drafts…but I have school to do too. Plus, our church is getting ready for a bake sale, so we’re all a bit busy.

November 15, 2021 at 6:32 pm #107273@elishavet-pidyon Ah, main characters are always a struggle for me too. I tend to develop them as I’m writing, so I don’t tend to know who they are until I start.
Yeah, I’m really busy right now too with school. School makes everything rough.

If hours don't turn into daysNovember 15, 2021 at 6:45 pm #107274XD I know, right? Why do we have to do school anyway? XD
So, here’s the biggest reason I’m confused over my character’s and their roles (in Eirtan, at least) Victor wasn’t originally the eldest sibling, nor the was he the MC; Alyona was. After a few day’s thought on the subject, though, I realized Victor needed to be the main character…and he became the eldest…and Alyona lost her place.
I don’t think I’ve really introduced her, so here:
Alyona Furrows/Elroi, the second child of Amichai Elroi, High King of Eirtan and the Brother-nations. She is 5’1″, skilled with the sling, and likes to sing (her voice is sweet, although not strong[a fact that irritates the Dorwains when they happen to hear her]). She is currently finding her place in the story, as I said. I think she might get captured at one point, but we’ll see 😉

November 15, 2021 at 6:52 pm #107275I think themes for Eirtan are Selfless Servanthood, The Power Of Truth, God’s Strength in Our Weakness, Identity, and Mantles/Passing of Burdens.
Yeah, it’s still in the building stage.

Oo, Alyona sounds awesome! And I’m glad you’re able to know what themes you’re going to express; I never seem to know what my themes are, even after I’m long done with something. I suppose I’ll have to ask an English teacher one day…

If hours don't turn into daysNovember 15, 2021 at 9:49 pm #107292IÂ think those are the themes, but then again, I’m still in the first chapter.
*Sighs heavily*
It’s so annoying, I have an idea about where the story will go, but I have difficulty getting it out/started. It doesn’t help that my characters aren’t, well, verbal yet.
Enough of my grumblings, this will be entertaining to watch play out.

If hours don't turn into daysNovember 15, 2021 at 10:01 pm #107298Not my first to start, but yes. Other than the three other WIPs and a smattering of short stories, it’s my current work.
How about you? Have you finished anything?

November 15, 2021 at 10:04 pm #107299@elishavet-pidyon I’ve finished first drafts of loads of things, but haven’t really gotten around into the editing phases, so I don’t know if I can exactly call it finished, haha. How long have you been writing?

Uh, about two years? I think I started seriously writing sometime in 2019. (Or was that early 2020?) So, yeah, not long.
