Here is Keiden! What do you make of the man?

“Do what is right, let the consequences follow.” -Truth and Treason
June 20, 2025 at 9:41 pm #204151He has at least one brother, or brother-in-arms.
He stands up for what’s right, even if it leads to conflict.
He knows falconry and how to battle on horseback.

June 21, 2025 at 11:13 am #204161Yes on all three! He has a brother-in-arms, but a blood brother.

Love Grey Havens.

And here’s Zahn!

August 1, 2025 at 9:47 am #204900@liberty Okay let’s see…
-Good archer
-Hunter
-Plays one or more instruments
-Very nice green eyes (lol I just think green eyes are so cool)
-Does Psalm 23 imply that he himself is a shepherd or comes from a family who worked with sheep, or is that just his favorite psalm?

Oh, neat! I like this one a lot. I think I remember him from your short story, although my mind is blanking on the particulars. Let’s see,
Healer/apothecary/physician.
Musician. Like Keilah said, plays several instruments. One looks like a harp, and another a lute.
Fabulous archer.
I’m really getting the idea he’s a poet and could be a minstrel. Contemplative personality, probably optimistic in a quieter way. Probably has some good advice up his sleeve and maybe a little mischief(which others don’t expect). Also very knowledgeable, although it doesn’t look like he had a traditional education. Does he read Hebrew/an ancient tongue of your world, or does that represent the scriptures in general?

You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan

Interesting… He looks like he’s facing several dilemmas. I like him. Hmm.
Royalty or else heavily inviting government or an elite class. Was he the prince in the short story?
Closer to the typical knight type of warrior. Honor is a big thing to him.
He’s trying to change something, cause something. Maybe becoming the leader of some sort of ring.
He has a great hawk. As nobility, that’s expected, but the hawk is not just a status symbol to him.

? I didn’t even notice they were a green color…I was going for a pale blue/grayish…but I think “green” actually fits him well.
-Does Psalm 23 imply that he himself is a shepherd or comes from a family who worked with sheep, or is that just his favorite psalm?
It portrays his love of the Psalms.
You are correct on all those other points.

Ooo, I love how you worded that! “Optimistic in a quieter way”. I’ve found that getting feedback on character boards gives me more varied vocabulary for describing them.
Probably has some good advice up his sleeve and maybe a little mischief(which others don’t expect).
I love this! Yes, good advice…and little unsuspected mischief…I hadn’t thought Zahn was capable of that, but now that you mention it…it would be very characteristic of him.
Also very knowledgeable, although it doesn’t look like he had a traditional education.
*nod* Not a traditional education by any means. At least compared to the other characters’ idea of education. It would be traditional for him.
Does he read Hebrew/an ancient tongue of your world, or does that represent the scriptures in general?
Both. He reads Hebrew and his culture’s ancient language.

August 2, 2025 at 3:06 pm #204921Interesting… He looks like he’s facing several dilemmas. I like him. Hmm.
? You were actually the only person to point that out! Yes…dilemmas is the perfect word.
Was he the prince in the short story?
Yup. 100% royalty.
Closer to the typical knight type of warrior. Honor is a big thing to him.
*big nod* Oh yes. ? Truth, honor, fidelity ? I’m not sure if you know that song…but those three words describe Keiden’s values to a “T”.
Do you like collecting theme songs for your characters? I recently started doing that for my ranger fellows, and I’ve been loving it! That line is from Keiden’s, of course.
He’s trying to change something, cause something. Maybe becoming the leader of some sort of ring.
*another emphatic nod*
He has a great hawk. As nobility, that’s expected, but the hawk is not just a status symbol to him.
? Yes! He loves his hawk…I actually don’t have a name for her yet! I must do that… Hawking on horseback with his sister is one of Keiden’s favorite things to do.
You nailed him incredibly well!

August 5, 2025 at 11:41 am #204954Hooray! It’s so much fun to do this.
Do you like collecting theme songs for your characters?
Yes, absolutely. I started a while ago, although some projects collect songs easier than others. There’s so much a song can express! Did you ever share any lists on the list threads?

No, I didn’t! I didn’t even know there was such a thread! I’ll have to check it out!
