Ah! That makes sense. It’s a fascinating occupation. 🙂

I finished another character yesterday! He was a lot of fun…
Any thoughts/guesses on what this fellow is like?

April 17, 2025 at 12:11 pm #201717@liberty ooh!!
-he likes wood carving and woodwind music
-he’s probably rich/royalty, judging by the golden staff
-his father didn’t care much for him
-he’s an only child, or his sibling(s) died, but he makes friends with one of the other characters

April 17, 2025 at 12:26 pm #201719- He’s a rolling stone/without roots/drifter.
- He’s curious about things.
- He likes to work with wood/whittle.
- He’s a messenger, or somehow connected to the clerical/Levitical circle.
- He’s either a strategist, or stuck in a tight situation.
- Despite his youth and friendly demeanor, he can fight like a cat.
- He’s more of the found-family type than the birth-family type. (ie, he’s adopted whether unofficially or officially.)
That was fun! I don’t know how accurate any of that was, but that’s my impression.

April 17, 2025 at 6:57 pm #201746You are dead on with all of those!
You are right on most of those. He is curious, loves to whittle, is a wanderer, and can fight well.
What did you mean by a “messanger/somehow connected to the clerical/Levitical circle”?
Oh yes, he is a strategist. (Hence, he loves chess)
Yes! He is more of a found family type!
You got a lot of him down!

April 17, 2025 at 8:29 pm #201752Bwahaha! XD You did a great job capturing his personality in the aesthetic.
I saw the shofar/horn and satchel with scrolls and wondered if he served as a messenger, a fitting occupation for a wanderer. On a flip side, if the scrolls were scripture, I thought he might be connected to your world’s True Religion. Maybe friends with a preacher etc. It might be a link in his past or something coming up in the plot.
Which could be very far off, but it’s what I thought when I saw it.

April 18, 2025 at 6:55 am #201774Ah! That makes perfect sence now!
The scrolls are his writings and maps…but I’ll keep in mind what you said about them being something like ancient writings…
As for the horn…I’m not saying anything about that just yet…🤠🫢

April 18, 2025 at 11:12 am #201777It looks great! Aside from the things Keilah and Elishavet have mentioned… does he like music?

Next board!
This boy is a favorite of mine! Well, all of them are favorites, but Jace holds a special place in my heart! He’s such a joy!
Note: I called him a “boy”…not a “man”…I mean, he is a mature man (17)…but he gives off little brother vibes!)
What do you think/deduce he is like?

May 1, 2025 at 3:05 pm #202277So Cool!!!! Oh my gosh. They look like both of them have a ton trauma. Not good for them…but good for me! I love trauma stories!

May 1, 2025 at 6:47 pm #202287@freed_and_redeemed whoa nice!
@liberty Let’s see….(and don’t worry, calling adult or near adult male characters “boy” is a common thing among writers)
He’s the spiritual one, the one that’s always reminding the other characters to trust God or to appreciate their surroundings. He loves animals and plants and being out in nature. He’s also athletic.
