Book 3 is over 2k words rn tho, which is exciting in of itself even if that number seems small for now
April 1, 2025 at 4:37 pm #201031Well I’m really, really excited about it! I already have money set aside for when it comes out. 🙃
But yeah, certainly trust God on the timing.
aw yay! I’m glad you saw it. Not many people replied so I wasn’t sure. The tags are also being super wonky.

April 2, 2025 at 5:10 pm #201091Thank you! This story needs to lot of work still…and I won’t be getting to writing it just yet since there are other things I have to do first, but I’m currently outlining it and working on character development!

April 5, 2025 at 12:02 am #201197April 5, 2025 at 12:04 am #201198Congratulations of the Book 3 progress! I can’t wait, even thoughÂ
I haven’t been able to read Broken Shackles yet.ÂMy library couldn’t purchase it for some reason and I’m broke, BUT I’m trying to get a job and that’s one of the first things I’ll buy when I have money. 🙂MARCIE! YOU MADE EGG SOUP!
April 5, 2025 at 12:38 am #201199First off, I’d love to hear about the retelling!
Secondly, I love this story idea you’re working on. It sounds like a fabulous mix of new plot ideas and classic tropes.
Thirdly, my tags haven’t been working for a few months, so I’m sorry if I don’t respond to something…
Though, I was so happy to open this thread just now and see all the lovely story thoughts and mood boards bouncing around. 🙂
You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan
April 5, 2025 at 12:45 am #201200Kyler’s board is lovely, in a rough around the edges – this character is probably dangerous way. He looks like a sympathetic character. I wonder who the girl is… 😢
I also totally get how hard it is to capture all the facets of a personality and story into one aesthetic. I have yet to achieve it. XD
Ooooooo…. The kids are adorable. Is this in the “happy” time when the boys can all be brothers before tensions rise over their heads and things get really ugly?
(Yayyyyy!!! Book 3 is gonna be wonderful!!! I have faith. 🙂 )

April 8, 2025 at 11:47 am #201325No problem!
As far as I can remember, the story went like this:
It was after the train crash. Susan had heard the news and was devastated. The loss of her entire family brought a new light into her narrowed vision. I think she was sitting in front of a mirror in her room. You read mentions of the path of her life…drinking…make-up, things of the world that Susan is chasing after. She’s down in the dumps…maybe this was a little bit after the crash? She’s broken-hearted because she can’t find peace and fulfillment in anything. She misses her family…and after thinking about it, misses her old life. She may have gone into her memories of Narnia even. But she knows she’s so messed up…somewhere in the midst of her thoughts, she sees visions of her family members. Or maybe she’s still struggling to let go of the world. In the midst of that struggle, phantoms of her siblings come to her…Peter…Lucy…Edmund…each glorious and full of life, speaking reminders to her and beseeching her to return to the Truth…perhaps actual lines they said in the books? Susan breaks down, weeping and crying as her heart starts to soften. She admits she’s empty…meaningless…perhaps one of the phantoms reminds her of Aslan…when the visions go away, she’s left broken. Finally, in that moment of the deepest darkness, she calls to Aslan. It was the first time in a long time. I think…I’m pretty sure it was Aslan first…and then she called Him Jesus. Or was it vice versa? You could choose. She pours her heart out, repenting, and sorrowful for her sins and for the deaths of her family. But she wants their peace. His peace. I think the story ends with her feeling His reassuring peace and presence as she’s returned to Him.
I hope this helps!
Secondly, I love this story idea you’re working on. It sounds like a fabulous mix of new plot ideas and classic tropes.
I didn’t think of it like that…but, that’s incredibly accurate!
Kyler’s board is lovely, in a rough around the edges – this character is probably dangerous way. He looks like a sympathetic character. I wonder who the girl is… 😢
Yes! Kyler is rough about the edges. And he can definitely be dangerous, but only when he’s in his dragon moments, which only occurs when he’s very disturbed. He has a lot of anger and pain boiling in his heart, but he’s very good at hiding the root causes…until he’s pushed too hard that he explodes. When he’s calm, he’s a very humorous and good-natured fellow.
The girl is his sister.
I also totally get how hard it is to capture all the facets of a personality and story into one aesthetic. I have yet to achieve it. XD
Yes! I’m trying to work in this as well.

April 9, 2025 at 3:18 pm #201392Ah, yes, that gives me several ideas, especially for the plot structure. Thank you for sharing!
I think I’m going to like all your charries. Beric’s board is lovely. Are they all blacksmiths?

Only Beric and Kyler are blacksmiths.
