Ev: Naw, I already have my priorities straight. *winks at giggling girls walking by*

Ami: *rolls her eyes*

He’s actually really sweet to Ami though. Like… okay, I’m sharing a tiny spoiler but whatever. Their whole group was captured for “breaking the law,” but Ev ends up turning himself in and taking the blame, so the others go free. Earlier in the book he had promised to watch the sunrise with her and bring her a chai latte. He reminds her of this promise before he’s taken back to prison, and she’s like, okay that’s sweet, but that’s not gonna happen. Well… yeah, eventually he gets out because of *series of wild events* and he stays true to his promise. ?

Oooh, or this scene:

One by one, the others agreed. Ev grinned. “You guys are awesome.”

“Wait, you forgot pretty,” Ami said.

“Alright. You’re pretty.”

Her cheeks turned bright red and she dropped her gaze. “You know that’s not what I meant,” she mumbled. Her younger siblings snickered and even Destry cracked a smile.

Ev laughed. “Ok. You guys are pretty awesome.”

She finally looked up a smidge, only to meet his eyes and smile. He offered a smile and a wink back.

Ok I’ll stop  fangirling over Everdala now…
