      Bwahahahhaha!

I won’t say don’t worry, but I think I finally found a way his story could turn out well. See, a perfect sphere is pretty, but something broken, something sharp – that could cut bonds.

Our faith is not destroyed by trials, and hope is not quenched by depression. Sometimes we need to break a little to be whole.

That and he does have a good friend…. *taps chin ponderously* I don’t think he will lose it for good.

      Whew.

It wasn’t even supposed to exist.

Real. The poor baby idea doesn’t even understand. It’s just a rough draft, an inkling of goofiness.

Yes, he’s the boy king of Surabond.

…And this is the French Revolution? O.O

He better not lose his head in all the madness.

          Inglor! No!

          *Grabs baby elfling*

          *Yeets off into forest*

I think Inglor is the epitome of that “what are you going to do with the sharp edges of your soul?” “Cut vegetables.” meme.

          @whalekeeper

          …..

Please say Remi survives the book. I will happily read about all sorts of wild weird French Alice in Revolution Land, but don’t touch Remi. =|

            Aaaahhh.

This is not just a straightforward evolution. You’re smelting off the dross.

Inglor is an elfling? Does he have any fantastical elvish abilities or talents?

…And this is the French Revolution? O.O

Ye. The whole story feels very French; I have a playlist and half the songs are just French. But it’s a fantasy and everyone gets into weird wacky hijinks. (With many games of croquet.)

              Smeltinggggggggg…… Yessss.

Technically he’s not an elfling, he’s a Dílis… that is, a descendant of the Vow Keepers. In his world “elf” is a racial slur. *narrows eyes at Koshka* But basically, yes. XD He has heightened senses generally, talks to trees, and is ridiculously agile. But his real gift is that he can see truth. =D

              info dump redacted

              Info dump retyped

In his world, people see what they expect to see – literally. For the Dílise, who have so many lies circulating about them, it is common to be mistaken for something else. For instance, a stranger traveling through the Wode expects to see lots of animals, maybe a renegade outcast from society -> sees Inglor -> only perceives a white owl perched too high in the tree to see clearly. That’s an extreme example, but in more general terms, people are often a little different from how they first appear. However, Inglor usually sees past a façade to the heart of a person. This does not mean he can’t be tricked because he’s far from omniscient and rather too young to understand everything anyway. But it is useful….

              @koshka

I’m not being mean to him really, not me.  It’s that nasty villian, you know?

              Yeah…..

Also, I now need to draw him getting yeeted into a tree

              @ellette-giselle

              Good, good. XD

Somehow… I did not see that pun. I was ironic and did not know it.

ACK! I did not respond about Remi…

Ye. The whole story feels very French; I have a playlist and half the songs are just French.

That. Is. Fabulous. How else does one get into the right mood?

Croquet! *stares into the distance hallucinating vividly*

Fantasy croquet…. with Remmington….. That sounds both hilarious and terrifying. As I am sure it should be. Would he be for or against any revolution? How much does that play a part in his story?

In his world “elf” is a racial slur. *narrows eyes at Koshka*

Of course it is. XD I will never speak that word around Inglor again.

He has heightened senses generally, talks to trees, and is ridiculously agile.

So Inglor is a monkey. 😀

For instance, a stranger traveling through the Wode expects to see lots of animals, maybe a renegade outcast from society -> sees Inglor -> only perceives a white owl perched too high in the tree to see clearly. That’s an extreme example, but in more general terms, people are often a little different from how they first appear.

That’s cool! That makes me think of the god-disguised-as-a-beggar, and I love the themes associated with that trope. Except in this case, you have a lot more variety going on. This is not just a message about judging a book by its cover – this is also about preconceived beliefs and how they can blind you.

This does not mean he can’t be tricked because he’s far from omniscient and rather too young to understand everything anyway.

You just gave me a tiny inkling of an idea…

But anyway. Seeing truth like Inglor would be such a nice ability to have nowadays. I mean in a fantastical sense; we are lucky to see the truth more easily than others.

Croquet! *stares into the distance hallucinating vividly*

This. This is exactly how Remi acts for a large chunk of his life.

Fantasy croquet…. with Remmington….. That sounds both hilarious and terrifying. As I am sure it should be.

It should. But he is well-meaning, at any rate, and that is all that matters. (Or is it?)

Would he be for or against any revolution? How much does that play a part in his story?

He is against the revolution because it hurts the people he loves. It is all very confusing and painful to him, as you can imagine. But he might start to change his mind.

He was designed to be a side character for the roleplay. He is not brave, intelligent, or wise, and there is nothing about him that screams protagonist. But I loved his social ignorance too much, hehe. He’s a silly lil guy. So I’m going to give him his own thing. So there.

Very good. It’s a delicate matter.

So Inglor is a monkey. 😀

                    Precisely.

It’s such a fun trope! I hadn’t actually thought of it that way, since most of the story is from the POV of the disguised, but yes, exactly. Those devious preconceived notions.

You just gave me a tiny inkling of an idea…

                    Oh?

Seeing truth like Inglor would be such a nice ability to have nowadays. I mean in a fantastical sense; we are lucky to see the truth more easily than others.

It would and we are! Discernment….

This. This is exactly how Remi acts for a large chunk of his life.

lol. He would be such an… interesting ruler.

He is against the revolution because it hurts the people he loves. It is all very confusing and painful to him, as you can imagine. But he might start to change his mind.

Aw. Yeah, that would be a rough place. More than a little scarry.

He was designed to be a side character for the roleplay. He is not brave, intelligent, or wise, and there is nothing about him that screams protagonist. But I loved his social ignorance too much, hehe. He’s a silly lil guy. So I’m going to give him his own thing. So there.

Sometimes it’s the weird little side characters that steal the show. I’m glad he’s getting his own thing! Social ignorance is one of the most relatable aspects in literature. We should see it more.

I just loudly guffawed in my dorm room, forgetting my door was open. It is past sound curfew. I am not as sorry as I should be. XD
