Magnus the Giant
The giant marched on through the endless labyrinth, his head both literally and figuratively in the clouds. Normally, he paid careful attention to where he stepped in the mist, but he had a lot on his mind at that moment.
As he took another step, he heard a high pitched scream, and looked down to see his boot about to land on a young woman in a pink dress. He managed to shift his weight just in time, and his foot landed a couple yards away from her. The girl fell backwards, and the giant felt instantly crushed by regret and concern. He crouched down to see her better, apologizing profusely for the near-accident. His voice was low and rumbling, which seemed to terrify the young lady even more. He shifted his position, trying to make himself look as small as possible, and spoke a bit quieter.
“I’m truly sorry, miss. I should have been paying better attention to where I was going. Are you alright?”

June 17, 2026 at 8:32 am #212399Acharis
A voice rang out, sounding unnaturally loud against the surrounding quiet. Acharis slid his mask back down as the… thing? stepped out of the shrubbery, spouting some nonsense about humans being ugly.
Look who’s talking, Acharis thought as he studied it through eyes that were narrowed in suspicion. His hand shifted closer to the hilt of his kirita but he refrained from drawing it. It didn’t look particularly dangerous, but there was something about the creature that Acharis did not like.
It finished talking and waited for him to reply. Acharis did not speak immediately, but continued to watch it, sorting through what it had said.
He thought, what is a goat?
He said, “Trip? I have no idea what you are talking about. You will explain.”

I think that this interaction is going to make Acharis go absolutely insane XD

June 18, 2026 at 12:57 am #212421I love how everyone who meets Ral has an instant dislike for him as soon as he opens his mouth XD I find it very amusing
Rallascant
“Oh, right. You visitors never remember your journey through the outer mists. Oh, well, so much for polite chatter. Come along, then. There’s things I must show you.” He turned and walked a few paces, before glancing back to see if Acharis was following.

Lol I’ll need to go read some of the other characters’ encounters.
Acharis
Acharis paused for a moment before following. His fingers closed around his sword. Just in case.
He didn’t speak. Asking questions would make him look desperate for information, and he didn’t want to give the creature anything to leverage against him. He still wasn’t convinced that its intentions were not malicious.

“Come, come. Wonder and adventure and all that rot await you. Don’t drag your feet, now.” Rallascant chuckled to himself as he quickly led the newcomer further into the hedge maze. They turned a corner, and came to a dead end. Half nestled in the leaves at the end of the passage was a stone statue, about seven feet tall, of a beautiful woman in greek style clothing holding a wide, shallow bowl filled with water. As they approached, a couple sparrows which had been perched on the edge of the bowl flew off.
Then, the statue blinked. She turned towards them slowly, and tilted her head curiously to one side.
Rallascant grinned and turned to Acharis. He gestured to the statue.
“Meet Iris. Iris, this is, ehhh…” he froze with his hand in the air, looking at Acharis with scrunched eyebrows. “I don’t exactly know, actually. He’s new.”
The stone woman’s expression was a mix of excited curiosity and pity. In one graceful motion, she stepped off her pedestal and stooped so her face was only an inch away from Acharis’. With one hand, she rested her bowl on her hip, and with the other she reached out to gently cup his cheek.
She spoke in a soft, distant voice that could be mistaken for a mother’s worried mutterings. “Oh, you poor lost souls. Minds so fragile and vulnerable to the labyrinth’s twisting ways. I hope you last.”

June 24, 2026 at 2:51 pm #212499I’m finally back home for a week! Yayy!
Please excuse my inability to focus on this. The other roleplay was easier to focus on for some reason. Time to brainstorm a post.

June 24, 2026 at 3:53 pm #212500By his planet’s measurement he’s only 19, which is something like 22-23 in Earth years, but I don’t know the exact conversion yet.
Acharis
Acharis stood frozen for a moment. Then he reached up and grasped the statue’s wrist, lowering her hand away from his mask.
“My mind. is not. fragile.” He said, punctuating the words and glaring with eyes she couldn’t see. He took a step back, then another. Statues were not supposed to move and speak as if they were made of flesh.
Acharis had more questions than he could count on his hands, though perhaps not counting the two he had lost. His gaze flicked to the creature that had led him there and then back to the statue — Iris. Neither seemed about to offer him any explanations.
“What do you mean by ‘labyrinth’?” He asked finally.

Help Gabriel.June 26, 2026 at 6:00 pm #212516Rallascant
Rallascant held his hands out and spun in a circle, vaguely gesturing to everything.
“This place. Everything around you. Where you are right now. Iris, would you mind showing him?”
The statue returned to her full height and held her water dish out for Acharis to see. With one finger, she tapped the surface of the water. As the ripples spread, the image of the reflection changed. The image became clearer and clearer, until it looked less like a reflection and more like a window. It showed, quite literally, a bird eye’s view of part of the maze. It was vast, paths twisting and spreading out in every direction. A few clearings and stone buildings dotted the landscape, and the tips of black feathers could be seen flapping on either side of the image. The bird whose eyes they looked through flew on, and it seemed as though there was no end to the twisting, splitting paths.
“Welcome to the Labyrinth.”

Lucille
Lucy had been standing still, and now she rocked back and forth slightly. “That’s… That’s what you were like.”
She looked from Gabriel to the fist mark in the wall again.
She smiled. Faintly, at first. Everything blurred and she found, by surprise, that a lump was in her throat. Her smile only grew wider until she was beaming, eyes wet and bright.
