@freedomwriter76 @princesachronicle22 @mineralizedwritings @lightoverdarkness6
Well I guess it’s my turn!!
So…I’ve got this idea that maybe once my series is published I might write like short stories from the viewpoints of my villains/antagonist and their backstories? Kinda like some authors do just as special things for their fans.
That being said now I’ve got a much larger backstory for Aramis and y’all….it honestly is really heartbreaking IMO….and I want to write it out now….
(if I can just make myself do it XD)
But…I can go ahead and write some out now….
WARNING THIS IS REALLY LONG XD
Faeries don’t cry….
Aramis has learned this the hard way.
Middle son of General Luther Fallon, Aramis was born into high standing. Born with a silver spoon in his hands.
From birth he was given the best of the best. Trained to be the best of the best. Along with his eldest brother Edrich, he was destined to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a great leader in Vangáurd’s history. A commander.
A ruler.
Despite being the second born, Aramis was his father’s favorite.
The pride and joy in his father’s eyes.
And Aramis returned this feeling, with strong devotion and loyalty. Even love, though those words were mostly spoken between the matron figures of the Fae.
Yes, Aramis loved his father.
Dearly.
And his father’s pride was not lost on the others, for they knew that Aramis was being groomed to rule next, despite Edrich being the eldest.
But, everything changed when one fateful day…
Luther passed.
Sending the Fallon family into sudden obscurity.
And leaving young Aramis…heartbroken.
But, as a Fae, and especially as a male….
Aramis had no time nor way to grieve.
His mother needed him.
And….
Faeries don’t cry.
After his father’s death, his family is helped by his father’s replacement, General Donovan Janus Conran. A man who, upon seeing Aramis’ state, takes him under his wing….
But….the general has intention of his own…
And he begins to fill the young, pliable child’s mind with things that aren’t true…
Still grieving, Aramis feels he has no one to turn to.
Except a girl he meets. Who he shouldn’t even be fooling with.
A dryad.
And…she becomes the only one who seems to get him. The only one he can confide in.
And eventually…his young feelings for the dryad grow, into something they can’t ever be.
Until one day, his mother finds out, and forbids him from seeing her again, telling him it’s for his protection.
Because Fae’s do not have Inter-racial relations.
Of course…again, small Aramis, still just a boy, who has now lost his only friend, is heartbroken.
And the dryad… Girl?
It seems perhaps his mother was right…she really was just using him.
And General Donovan’s words aren’t helping much…
But…it’s alright….
It’s fine!
He’ll get through it.
He’ll bottle it up…
Let it fester and boil….turning to bitterness and anger…..
He won’t be silent or seek solitude like Soren….or lash out like Edrich…
No, he’ll be cunning. Smart.
Like he always has been.
He’ll figure this out…
He’ll keep it all hidden…
Because Faeries don’t cry.
But when Mother brings home a new Fae…
One Aramis has never seen before in the land…saying she’s going to…marry him? And everyone just goes along with it….
Aramis knows something’s up.
But Edrich and Soren won’t listen….
No one will listen!
But Aramis knows something is off with this man.
Why hadn’t he ever seen him before? His mother’s story just doesn’t make sense.
but…with no one to hear his young voice, what does it matter?
Though…the General believes him.
He listens…
Not that he can do anything about it….
So, Aramis sucks it up. And deals with it. Even having small moments with this man, whoever he is, who takes the places of his father (not that he ever really could)
And it isn’t until years later…when this man dies….
Having Aramis lose yet another father figure in his life….
That he learns the truth.
All this time….he’s thought he was crazy…and finally, he’d given up trying…
Only to learn…he was right….
The man who had replaced his father these last few years….was not a Fae…
And How does he know?
Because now, he has a brother, with No Wings….
An…an atrocity! A…a disgrace!
If everything else wasn’t bad enough already….
And he confronts his mother…and…it’s true…
The same woman…who told him as a child that he…couldn’t be friends with a dryad….
Married a non Fae….
and….
Had a child with him?
Its the proverbial last straw.
The final blow.
And now, Everytime he has to look at that…
Flit of a half brother….he’s reminded of….
Everything….
Everything he’s been through….
And…he can’t stand it anymore.
But….
It’s alright….
Because, the General has a plan….
One that…will ensure Aramis’ rightful place…making everything right again.
Yes…everything will be alright…he just…has to keep up the charade a bit longer…keep up his loyalty to his mother…his brothers….a bit longer.
It should be easy, all things considered. Because he learned a long time ago.
Faeries don’t cry.

YOU DID NOT
DOES HE HAVE A REDEMPTION ARC? I NEED TO KNOW!!!
😭😭😭
HE’S BEEN SO MANIPULATED
NOOOO
AND HIS POOR FAILED FRIENDSHIP WITH THE DRYAD
OK NOW I REALLY DON’T LIKE THE MOM!!!
AND HE HAS NO GOOD ROLE MODELS?
😭😭😭😭😭
Ok honestly though, that is an amazing start to a character arc. Even if it is a negative one, not everyone is willing to confront their mistakes and misreadings. Like this is soo good. It makes for an amazing villain, and it’s so much better when you know why they act the way they do. Poor Pax though! The poor baby had no idea what kind of a family (or not) he’d be born into 😥

My heart… so Aramis is the future villian??? Nooo. I need to hear more about this book, so if you ever publish I can read it while eating chocolate and crying

Wait, so this is Paxton’s story?? And Aramis is his villian???? AHHH!! THESE POOR CHILDREN!!!
Love is patient. Love is kind. Love never fails. -1 Corinthians
And guess what? His is eternal (:January 5, 2023 at 2:33 pm #127951I’m sorry to say…I don’t believe this character is getting redeemed….
But in a way, this really shows how the actions of others affect other people and their lives. Things could’ve been so different for this young boy and his life, and it’s just like that in life too, there are people everyday in the same position who will never be redeemed because they’ve been too hurt and hardened.
But reading and seeing things like this can help us to do and be better and make sure we don’t make these mistakes and hurt someone else enough to bring them to this point.
There are a few redeemed antagonists in my series but there are quite a few unredeemed, because there’s gotta be that mix, ya know? It’s heartbreaking, but…sometimes that’s the only way to show the real truths and pack meaning into the stories

#ProtectSebJanuary 5, 2023 at 2:35 pm #127952@princesachronicle22 Yes Paxton is one of the 8 MCs of my 7-8book Fantasy series.
we meet him in book 4 when Ara and the gang so far travels to his homeland.
He is an abused boy living with his abusive mother, and half brothers Edrich and Aramis
(Soren, his other half brother isn’t really abusive, he’s just standing by, and he’s redeemed in the end)
Aramis, Edrich, Lilith, and General Donovan (along with some others) are the villains of the story.

Yes, so sad but very true
I love that your doing their backstories though
Also I love the drawing!

(Also…the dryad mentioned is actually the Dryad queen, and she’s also a villain in the story.)

Okay, thanks for clearing that up, and again tell me when you finish your books ’cause I wanna read them so bad! Poor Pax!
The main character in my WIP has a very cush life, and I haven’t gotten into sad backstories as much but I’m planning on it more in the book that takes place before this one

And guess what? His is eternal (:January 5, 2023 at 2:43 pm #127957Yeah, I agree. It’s sad, but not everyone should be redeemed. I think a lot of people who have been manipulated in the past choose to not notice it and make changes because they don’t want to admit they were wrong to listen to bad advice, y’know like a pride thing. Anyways, he seems like a great character!

January 5, 2023 at 2:45 pm #127959Yeah ;(
Also correct me if I’m wrong @godlyfantasy12 his mom is abusive right?

January 5, 2023 at 2:47 pm #127962@mineralizedwritings thx!! Yea thats a lot of it, for Aramis too I think it would be he just gets to the point where he’s so messed up mentally what with all the manipulation and never being able to grieve or receive the things he needs, and then after he…well…
Kills his brother, he’s just at the point of no return.
Wow. I just realized…Aramis is actually like a reverse Paxton….
He’s literally what Paxton could be and vice versa….
man that’s powerful!
