Hey, it’s been some time since I have been on here, but thought I would pop in and catch up with you all. How are you all doing? What have you been up to? What projects have you been working on? How has the website been?
I’ve been busy recently with my full-time job and other things. God has been good. I received an opportunity to illustrate a book. I can’t say too much yet, but if you are interested, I will let you know when it is published.
Because of that, I have had to take a break from writing, but as fall is starting, I am able to resume writing the third draft of TNPT: The Cost.
I also confess, I have been a traitor. I’ve been on The Young Writter’s Workshop instead. I’m sorry I have neglected you all for a while. I don’t think I will be able to be on here as much as I used to, but I’m going to try to check in here at least once a week.
But yes, please tell me how you have all been up to:

I have been busy myself working full time and trying to stay healthy and not burn out. I’ve been somewhat consistent with writing daily which I’m excited about. Usually too exhausted to do very much creative work though.
The website has been somewhat well behaved, but I am hesitant to say that in case it hears me and decides to prove me wrong.
What’s Young Writer’s Workshop like? I’m curious now that I’ve heard about it a few times.

Ydubs, as everyone on there calls it, has been fine. Busier for sure, it’s a bit harder to meet people on there, but a couple of people welcomed me in and helped me get started. It has been fun. I think I will continue my membership thee for next year as well. Whaley and Koshka have also been on there as well. I am in a critique group with Koshka.

I’ve been working on animation; my dad has a friend who does animation as a side job so he’s been giving me tips. It’s pretty cool. My skills are nowhere near good enough to make a job out of it, but I’m getting there.

I haven’t had much time for either writing or KP lately, between school, dance, and work. I’m a senior now so I’m trying to figure what I want to do with my life as an adult.😅 I have an interview with the college I want to go to on Wednesday so that’s exciting but also terrifying.

Hi, nice to see you again.
Not much has been going on my end. This is my first season of rowing where I can fully push myself, and one of my coaches wants me to go to Nationals. I don’t think I’ll make it, but it’s nice he thinks I can honestly. I made captain though on the crew, and honestly I was already doing a lot of the captain duties so basically the only thing that’s changed is that I remember to bail the launches when it rains.
Art-wise I’ve improved, but it’s still very mediocre.
Writing-wise I’ve honestly lost a lot of my spark since January. I have a lot of plans, but my mind hasn’t been spinning the ideas into many words.
Basically my life currently has very little accomplishments.
Glad you’re doing well! YWW is excellent from what I’ve heard (and CWW/CEW have definitely been) so I’m happy for you!

Ah, yes. XD I remember seeing you were looking for critiques on there. I was active on there for a little bit. The cost isn’t worth it for me but I’m glad you found a good critique group.

I’m doing well! I’m taking a few college classes this semester to get an idea of how I want to move forward with education. There was an option to go to college years ago, but life happened. Life is complicated. The classes are fun thus far.
My projects? Not sure if you ever knew what they were. Let’s see.
My favorite old project – which I’m calling Terminus – is on the back burner, bubbling merrily. (New metaphor unlocked. Projects are a lot like soups.) It’s turned into this fun lens through which I like to learn about irl things. I’ve been studying the history of nuclear power, for example. I take detailed notes from these history books so I can take inspiration for my fictional world. It’s awakened my love for history.
I have a new story called Project Shaffer. It is about faeries and strange creatures and a strange family. I love it. I’m taking a little break right now, but there are many words in the doc.
How has the website been?
Good! People are still unable to make new accounts, unfortunately. But we can post things. As you can tell. Some of us are writing fun alternate universes together and that’s been a highlight.
