Oh, good themes!
Speedcubing is solving rubiks cubes (there’s other puzzles that count to) in under 30 seconds. A lot of people are a lot faster than that, that’s just the minimum to be considered a speedcuber. I average 28 seconds on a 3 by 3 rubiks cube.

January 3, 2023 at 5:03 pm #127567Welcome!! I’m Esther: a volleyball-playing, violin-squeaking, dog-obsessed, God-loving, amateur writer!!
My writing contains a variety of things: a fantasy duology, a dystopian triology (which is my WIP), a his-fic novel idea, 2-4 biblical ideas, and a contemporary/mystery novel idea.
So yep! That’s me!
Now some questions for ya:
1. Favorite beverage?
2. If you could live in any country, which would it be? And why?
3. Favorite vacation spot that you’ve been? Why?
4. If you could spend a day in any book, which would it be? And (optionally) which part of the book?
Nice to meet you!! See ya around!!

January 3, 2023 at 5:19 pm #127573Hi! Nice to meet you. That’s super cool you are a twin! Though I don’t read a lot of fantasy or sci-fi, your work sounds interesting. Do your creations have a space language and have you created maps for their world?
Other questions:
1) What is your favorite bird?
2) Do you play any instruments3) What is your dream job?
Also I am curious….what is a magnet school?

January 3, 2023 at 6:10 pm #127600What is your fantasy dueology about? (I really like fantasy).
Answers to
1. pomegranate
2. No idea. Maybe new zealand because it looks nice (it is where the Peter Jackson lord of the rings movies were made).
3. breaks interstate park
4. Hmmm. Maybe cosmere. There is a lot I would not want to go to though. Such as Kharvia (my WIP) or The place from the Poppy War.I do not have a true map yet but do have Ideas. They have some special words and phrases but I haven’t made any special languages like Sindarin (lotr eld language).
A magnet school is basically a school that pulls from multiple districts that you have to apply for and has a specialty (mine is history and ‘GT education’).

1. Do dinosaurs count?
2. No. I do not. If I did it would probably be a base.

Cool. But how did you know I was thinking of Tolkien’s languages when I asked you that question? 🤩
(BTW, Tolkien’s fantasy is my favorite….basically all I read or watch in that genre.)

Very interesting.
Do dinosaurs count?
I suppose but they MUST be able to fly.

January 3, 2023 at 6:25 pm #127605Wow! That all sounds super cool! I love that moon power concept. I get only working on one thing at a time, sometimes I get impatient and want to try out new ideas but usually I like to keep to one project
Also I’ve never tried sushi, (never been much of a seafood person XD) But I know a few people who love it so I might choose to be adventurous at some point
Nice meeting you!

And guess what? His is eternal (:January 3, 2023 at 6:28 pm #127606Cool. But how did you know I was thinking of Tolkien’s languages when I asked you that question?
Mostly because it is the one I am most familiar with and also because Tolkien is like one of the staples of high fantasy lit. Sindarin is so cool because Tolkien actually put a ton of work into it because one of the classes he taught at Oxford was on like languages and stuff. Apperently (though I have never tried) there is enough stuff that you can form coherent stuff to in it and actually kind of talk in it.
I suppose but they MUST be able to fly
Then I will pick a Dimorphodon (the flying things that aren’t Pteranodons in Jurassic World).

Hazah magic powers! Mistborn was awesome, I’m currently reading the continuation series, I just finished Alloy of Law

Salutations.

Another twin! We seem to have a lot of those.
So . . .
1. Do you have a favorite marine animal?
2. Do you drink black coffee?
3. Where is your favorite place to write?
4. Have you ever knitted or crocheted? 😉😏
Nice meeting you, I hope to see you around!

@princesachronicle22I have not read mistborn yet. It is on my list. I have read the first two storm-light books. I think the similarities could be because I have a friend who really likes them and also very much like Brandon Sandersons 3 laws of magic (basically it is his guidelines for magic/abilities/superpowers). (I would recomend reading the blog posts if you are into writing fantasy/sci-fi). I also get a lot of inspiration from historical stuff. I also like to think of my magic-esque features (the moons) in terms of science as it helps me with world-building.
The moons thing is probably one of my favourite world-building things. They were slightly inspired by the way the radiant orders work (another similarity). Each moon has 2 powers (except for the Green one). The broken moon is also necessary for the lunar powered (Rosse) technology (the stormlight similarity here was not intentional). The moons are coloured and powered:
Red:
Increased senses and endurance
Making of temporary unbreakable energy objects
Orange:
(very mistborn based)
push/pulling power
(stormlight based)
Tether power
Green:
Emotional reading
(This one sounds cutsy but is actually quite formidable if you are good at manipulating people)
Purple:
Projection of images
Emotional projection
Pink:
Regeneration (brings you back to state up to 24 hours previously) (has auto kick in)
One way telepathy (only sends)Also there is the ‘broken moon’ which can be trapped in these stones. It can be used to cancel any other type or funnel and activate any type.
The Rosse Technology is also partially responsible for the oppression of the Aether wielding types of people.

3. Coffee, tea, apple cider, or sparkling water?
4. Socks or no socks?
5. Carpet or bare floor?
6. Cats or dogs?
7. Favorite language?
Have a lovely evening!

3. In my upstairs rocking chair on my phone. (I know it is weird 🙂).
4. No. My younger sister does though.

They don’t really live in the ocean . . . okay, fine, it can pass.

I see, it’s not for everyone.
3. In my upstairs rocking chair on my phone. (I know it is weird 🙂).
I love rocking chairs! Though I find it hard to type on a small screen!
4. No. My younger sister does though.
Fun. Does she knit things for you?
