@scripter-of-kingdoms HAHA I feel that haiku on such a deep level XDDD Beautiful.
"It's easy to be caught up in stardust and whispers when reality is so dark and loud."

So I know the poem I shared on this topic may not have been one of my happiest pieces XD So I wanted to share another I wrote that’s much happier, and very special to me because I wrote it about someone very important in my life. I actually wrote it just now, as at this moment I felt super inspired to write poetry. XD
Sorry if it’s a bit long, y’all totally don’t have to read it, but I just wanted to post it in case anyone did 🙂
This Poem Cannot Express It
By Joy Caroline
—
From the first time we met I knew you were a friend
You greeted me as though you loved me already then
Though I doubted it at that moment, I know now it’s true
That you loved me first right then, and a second later, I loved you.
—
I’ll never forget the first time you stood before us all
You smiled, a friend to us, and stood tall
Ready to lead us the way a bee leads a bear to honey
Yet it was a different kind of sweetness you wanted to give us, as you called us each family
Saying, “And so I love you all even though I don’t know you all yet.”
Did you notice the transfiguration even in the hardest faces that were set?
Did you see the amazement in our eyes; did you see how I felt?
Did you see the difference you made at that moment, in a little heart covered in welts?
I couldn’t believe you had spoken thus.
—
I would watch you, how tender you were
The warm hugs you gave, the smile I never saw a cure for
Even then I could not go to you as the others did
Your love was something I had never imagined I would get.
But one day when I told you, with trembling knees,
How much you meant
You stated again that love
And bit by bit you chipped away my exterior
And my fears melted away inferior
To that love you expressed to me daily
With your wings around our sanctuary like a dove.
—
Tragedy struck and you were the first one I thought of
To you I ran broken and crying
As the fortress seemed to tumble from above
And I was weak and sick from trying.
You were my strength; you were my rock
Although in your eyes I saw your indescribable grief for your flock.
—
Your voice was more tender than ever
Your arms wrapped around me securely and forever
Then you wept, too, because I was hurt.
As you held me, you sang beside me
And I even joined my song with yours before my tears of emotion were enough to choke
You rocked me in a lullaby, with your soft stroke
And I knew the next morning would find me woke
Because you would still be there
Beside me as always you were.
—
You held me no matter what
And I know it’s still the same although things have changed a lot
For one thing that will never change is your love, tender and true
You even care so deeply about my every dream coming true
And my love in turn, in the warmest spot of my heart for you
Which no words can express
If anyone else tried to take your place, for them it would only end in a mess
For there can never be anyone who loves me as you do
For this reason I am writing this poem for you
And I pray one day soon
I can lay it in your hands
And physically be again in your safe cocoon.
