Sorry if I don’t get their personalities right. I’m working with what I’ve got currently, lol. I can always change dialogue. 😉
It’s all good. You were close. The only thing I’ll change is Ami’s response. I’m playing around with Ev being a flirt bc there may be a few scenes like that in my WIP, so we’ll see how it goes! 😁
Also, how old is Jasmine? If you mentioned it somewhere earlier, I missed it. 😅 Ev is 17 and Ami’s 16. Both are juniors in high school.

“Jasmine,” the girl replied. “Listen I’m gonna be late and I can see you’re in a hurry too. I just had to drop some things in my locker. See ya tomorrow!” Jasmine ran off to a middle-aged man that Ami assumed was her father.
Ev shoved his hands in his pockets as he and Ami started down the hall again. Ami tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Did he actually like that Jasmine girl? She pushed the thought out of her mind. Why should it matter to her?
Then Ev spoke up. “I think I’ll ask her out.”
Ami turned to look at him askance. Was he serious?
He grinned. “Do you have a problem with that?”
Ami looked straight ahead again. “Why should it?”

Ev blinked. That wasn’t the response he was hoping to get. Sure, the girl was cute, but Ami… she was really pretty. And it wasn’t just the way she looked. The way she acted was beautiful.
He had hoped she would at least be a little offended. Maybe his feelings towards her weren’t mutual…
He nodded at Ami. “All right then…”
Ev heard Ami giggle. He cocked his head at her. She said, “You aren’t going to ask her out, are you?”
“How would you know?” He asked, slightly annoyed that she had pretty much read his mind.
She just smiled. He smirked and rolled his eyes. But maybe he would prove her wrong. After all, it may get her attention.

12 year old in 6th grade. 😉 Oh, no! I may have to add 3 years. Oops. I forgot this was high school/college. Unless y’all don’t mind doing middle school as well. Ahhh! It won’t change much to make her a few years older.

But then, he grabbed Hope’s hand and squeezed it. “No, Hope…it-it’s okay. I keep things secret too…I understand. Really, I do. But you don’t have a home? You need somewhere to stay, once you’re out of the hospital, I mean. You can’t be alone forever…but I-I’m not exactly sure where you could stay…”

So Grimm’s family farm is also a home for kind wayward young people who have nowhere to go, or have disabilities and no one wanted them.
They live in a cottage they built up on their land, help with the chores and are treated just like family.
If Hope wanted, Grimm could learn of her situation and speak with his parents and they’d take her in in a heartbeat!!

#ProtectSebAnd Grimm, tho he seems stoic on the outside is secretly a total sweetheart and would totally become a big brother to hope and protective. If her dad came around, he would totally keep her safe from him (along with the other kids)
this also explains why Grimm is able to help/is used to some of the abusive situations he’s around when it comes to his friends and such, he has a lot of friends/adopted siblings who have gone thru things, or have disabilities.
This is also how he met Connell, who lives there. (Btw, he’s like family but not quite because I really want to ship Connell and Mirella together but didn’t want it to be weird 🤣)

Hope let out a little sob, “I’m…I’m not sure either. I barely got away with forging a parent’s signature for school…I’m, I’m hopeless aren’t I?” Hope closed her eyes.
You never should have ran…you should have stayed with Dad…he would’ve hurt you, but you would have never been in such a mess.
“Hope?”
Hope cringed, opening her eyes. What if he comes back…what if he hurts Rueben instead…what if…
“Hope…tell me about your childhood. How did you get here? Why are you…why are you alone?” Rueben gently placed a hand on her leg, “I need to know…”*the next part will be in italics but it is Hope telling the story*
“What do you mean yer not gonna listen to me?” Watson raised a hand and slapped the small child of 11 strait across the face. “Darn child! I’m her father, ain’t I? Did I ask for you? Hmm? Did I?”
Hope whimpered, “No daddy.”
“That’s right! And I ain’t gonna have you talking back to me either…got it?” He leaned closer, so close that Hope could smell the alcohol in his breath.
“Yes daddy.”
Watson growled, “Now what do you say?”
“I…I..I love you daddy.” Hope shivered. It wasn’t true. It wasn’t true. She didn’t love him…and she didn’t love her. Watson seemed satisfied however and turned his heel.
“I’ll be back around midnight…and don’t ya get yer nose into anything that ain’t yer’s!”
Hope waited. His footsteps retreated…and then …she sobbed.
She was alone…alone. Always alone. And she was changing too. She needed more food to keep up with her growth spurt…but daddy wouldn’t listen. Hope rubbed her bruised cheek, layered regret and fear built in her face…a sign. A identification of who she was. Hope could feel her scar along her arm. It represented that she was of ownership of her father. And he would never let her go.

A plan formed in her mind.
She would book a plane for the next hour and fly to whatever state fit her need…then hide. From daddy.
Hope took in a deep breath…was it worth the cost of being alone?Yes.
If it meant she could have free will of her own life…then yes.

Paxton is 12, and a Nyx is 14, Wolfgang is 13 in this AU, so it’s fine, just maybe don’t have any romance between older students lol.
(I’m going to have Luna like Paxton lol. Luna is 14)

Yeah. I was just thinking Ev would try to make her jealous, but now that I think about it, they’d then have to have a conversation about it. That may kind of ruin the whole dynamic in my head for the actual book. 😅
I may just have him act like that with any girl, cause I’m playing around with that facet of his personality. 🙂
