Dante
The hospital was close. Rory helped Dante walk to the bus stop, and then rode with him to the emergency room. Rory seemed tense and wary on the bus, but then, so was Dante. They picked a seat near the door, and kept an eye on the other passengers.
When they arrived, a nurse told them that a doctor was available to treat him right away. When they both tried to follow her out of the waiting room though, she stopped Rory.
“Sorry, only family allowed.”
“He’s my brother,” Dante said quickly.
The lady looked doubtfully between the small alien boy and the tall human next to him. She opened her mouth to say something, but he cut her off.
“I’m adopted. Listen, if you don’t let him in with me, I’ll stay here and bleed out in this waiting room, and my brother will tell everyone you refused me care because I’m not human. It’ll be in the headlines. ‘Racist Hospital Workers Let Kid Die.’ Do you really want that?”
The nurse stopped and glared at him. She looked ready to argue, but she let them through instead.
A few minutes later, the boys sat in a room, Dante on the bed and Rory in a chair, waiting for the doctor. Dante broke the awkward silence with a voice that sounded much less confident than the one he had used with the nurse.
“Thanks again for helping me. Woulda saved you a lot of trouble if you had left me alone. I… owe you. My name’s Dante, by the way.”

He held out his hand. “Rory. And I couldn’t leave you.” He cocked his head slightly. “Brother…?” This was the second time someone had claimed him with that familial title. He was beginning to like it.

They shook hands, finally formally introduced. Rory cocked his head to the side. “Brother…?”
Dante looked at him sharply, a bit confused. “Don’t call me that.”
The doctor came in, and treated his wounds. He got stitches for the big cut, and a couple for the one on his arm. He refused all the pain medication that was offered to him, and instead sat through it all wide awake. His hands gripped the edge of the bed until his knuckles turned white and he tried not to wince.
When it was finished, the doctor left again, leaving the boys alone. They had time to chat. Dante adjusted one the pillows that now propped him up in the bed, and then side-eyed Rory.
“You’re still weirdly unfazed, and your explanation earlier was lame. How are you so experienced with this? Who are the Agents?”

“I’m not unfazed. I’m still trying to understand why he offered you a pain killer at all, and why he didn’t off you. Also, why can’t I call you brother if you just did a second ago?”

Dante’s stomach twisted, and he shifted uncomfortably.
“That was just a lie to get you in the door. You don’t want me as a brother. Trust me.”
He saw the hurt look on Rory’s face, and his stomach twisted even further. He looked away.

He rubbed the toe of his shoe against the ground and shrugged. “Yeah, you’re probably right. Brothers…. well, it just causes pain if you know them… because then someday… someday you might be on one side of the line, and they’re on the other, and you have the gun…” She shuddered.

Finally decided to join.
I’m gonna add Tenz and Reid since they’re highschool age. I did have them in another rp, but I kinda wanna see what happens here. Plus Tenz has healing abilities, and that may be needed the way this rp is going.
Tenz and Reid
Identical twins.
They both have unruly black hair (Tenz’s more so, Reid at least tries to comb it) and blue eyes with slit pupils. Their pupils can dilate like a cat’s. They also both have fangs and a triangular scale on their left cheeks.
They differ a lot in personality as Reid is an easygoing, gentleman, and much, much ore mature than Tenz.
Tenz is childish and most definitely has some kind of mental disorder.
I’m orry this isn’t long, I have a headache, but those are the two I’m adding.

“Yeah. We can just keep things professional.”
There was a silence, and Dante found his mind wandering somewhere he didn’t want it to go. He mentally yanked it back like an angry dog owner with a leash, and sat up. He poked his side, testing the stitches, then swung his legs over the side of the bed.
“We should sneak out of here before the nurse comes back. I don’t have money, and they’ll probably ask me for personal info.”

He raised an eyebrow. This was weirdly familiar to him, yet also totally strange…. “Sure,” he replied. “But aren’t you not supposed to walk after you have stitches? The skin needs time to heal a little or you’ll rep em open and then we’ll be right back where we started.”
