Exactly! There are a few characters who fall under that category. Just a natural result of having a powerful/combat-worthy protagonist, I think.

There’s some compression ice packs and…stuff.” he shuffled through for a large gauze pack and sat on the table in front of Rory. He brushed sweat slicked hair out of the boy’s face until he met his gaze.
“Now Rory, kid, I need you to tell me straight because I’m not a doctor, so I don’t know what you don’t tell me. I know your ribs are beat up, you were limping, and you’ve lost blood enough blood to be sick. What hurts the worst right now?”

Idk if Rory is a cinnamonroll. He’s kind of a trained killer who’s losing it.

Gonna go off what I remember from my sister’s broken hand, although I understand that this isn’t broken, broken.

“Yes, deep breaths, and lean back.” Leo helped him settle back against the couch. “I’ll patch you up and get you some meds. Try to relax if you can.”
Leo started unwrapping the fabric strips around Rory’s hand, dropping the stained cloth into a waste basket. He reached for the antiseptic brushed the hair back out of the boy’s face. He really did need a better haircut. “What’s your favorite color?”
Rory looked at him with a confused rumple between his eyebrows. Leo shrugged and kept up the nonsense talk as he cleaned cuts and applied fresh gauze. Slowly the kid began to relax. Leo turned to the more serious injuries. Road burn, thankfully light. Cleaning and ointment would do fine. Several potentially cracked ribs but they didn’t feel broken. A good wrap and some plain killer was all he could do. There was a large knot on the side of the kid’s head, but his pupils responded to light, contracting and dilating with no issue.
Then there was the knee. A large purple-black bruise was already swelling to an alarming degree. Everything seemed in place, but he wasn’t really a doctor. Several cold compression packs and a wrap brace would have to work for now.
Leo helped the kid resettle, then brought out a thick comforter from his room and a couple pillows. He set a large cup of water down within reach of Rory. “You can sleep right there for tonight.”

Rory curled up, letting his face disappear under the comforter. It was warm and soft. Unlike the military blankets he was used to. He wondered if this was what clouds felt like. Then he shuddered. He knew what clouds felt like. They were cold and wet, and wind shrieked around you when you were in clouds. Some of the pilots had told him that once you were above clouds it was glorious. In fact, all the pilots he knew liked to escape into the clouds. Rory didn’t.
He didn’t like clouds.
Or planes.
Or flying.
He had only done it once, and it was the last time he ever would.
Rory let out a slow breath and looked up over the edge of the blanket. “Thank you, Leo,” he said, softly.
Then he rolled over and closed his eyes, letting out a deep and calming breath. He was safe.
At least, he was pretty sure this was what safe meant.

I also debated the ‘could actually kill you’ because could he actually? My sister said Rory would pop emotionally before killing anybody. (Not meaning he is weak, Ellette, just that he wouldn’t do it.)
