“Yes, kind of new. This year is my first.” He sat down in his chair again. The upholstery was still warm from where he’d curled up in it earlier. He settled back into the cozy spot.
The Hugo boy looked like he had attended the school much longer, or at least he was comfortable in the library. Viktor grinned.
“Have you come here a while?”
Something fluttered in the corner of Viktor’s vision. He guessed it was another moth wandering along the floor, and tried to ignore it for now.

He said this sympathetically. Victor probably didn’t know much about the place. After all, the school was incredibly huge and there were new dimensions to it everywhere you looked.
Something moved on the floor. Hugo glanced down, and quickly pulled up his feet. “Oh, goodness.”
The shadow of a cartoon creature waved up at him, without any source. It turned its head, ears flopping slightly.
“Did you come from a human Toon?” Hugo asked without thinking.

Some of the people in Hugo’s world are called Toons, so that’s why he’s asking. :p They function pretty differently from Benny, though.
