          Aha!

By the way, Loopy, I’m not strong either, but I’m too stubborn to get a cart for bags of dogfood. You can do it, Loopy. Be stubborn!!!

Viktor (Library)one of these days I’m going to use his actual name and not catch it. And there will be confusion. 😬

“What?” Viktor rose too quickly and smacked his head on the side of the table. He stumbled, blinking back the sudden haze.

A boy stood there, holding out a small casket. Lamplight gleamed in its polished metal like a blurry lamp of silver. Viktor swallowed.

“Ke! It’s mine. Please.” He reached out and took it in his two hands. It was cool as always. No new scratches caught his eye. He clicked the catch and watched the lid spring open just like it had when his uncle had first shown him.

A sliver star lay inside, it’s crevasses showing tarnishing where soot had stayed too long. Viktor lifted it and checked to make sure his father’s photo was beneath.

Yes. The familiar face smiled back from one of the few images left without it being blacked out. Viktor put the medal back and snapped the case shut.

It was all there. An embarrassed laugh slipped out as Viktor realized there were tears dripping off his nose. He scrubbed them away with the back of his hand.

“I’m Viktor. Thank you for finding this. What’s your name?”

You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan

I just realized how a roleplayer has to re-describe their character whenever they’re interacting with someone new. XD

            Hugo

Hugo squeezed Viktor’s arm in a tight shake, and beamed with sharp teeth. “Hugo Angelo. And it’s no problem, really. I’m guessing it would have been more of a problem if I didn’t find it.”

Viktor did not seem older, as Hugo had thought. He looked to be about a similar age, with a more tanned complexion, discolored skin along his extended arm. Scarred, important to know early on. He was thin – though not as thin as Hugo was. Dark lines had loosened from below his eyes in relief.

The corners of Hugo’s crinkled good-naturedly. He curled up in an armchair within the study nook. “I’ll stay here, then. Are you new to the school, Viktor?”

He also glanced at the girl to indicate he had noticed her.

The last thing I remember with your characters, Nar wanted to pester Alpha about going to the dance.

Also, Ruth, I had the sudden realization that your Alpha and Baron are both Type 4s on my interpretation of the enneagram, and I was very satisfied with that conclusion. XD @loopylin might understand what I mean.

Oh yeah I think I could see that for Alpha. I don’t know Baron very well.

                      Brea (the library)

Brea ignored Hugo’s look. These boys were distracting. She had work to do.

She frowned at her book and tried to remember which practice equation she was on. Benny slipped onto the page again. When he tried showing off his juggling skills with a few multiplication symbols, she silently threatened him with an eraser.

The cartoon rabbit slunk across the table with his ears pinned back sulkily. If Brea wasn’t going to play with him, he was going to make some new friends. He perked up at the thought, and skipped over to the floor near Hugo and Victor. Then he waved enthusiastically up at them and waited for either to notice.

I think I’m going to stubbornly accept my fate and stay lying on this floor.

Oh wait did I remember to describe/ explain Benny?

                          That’s kinda important.

Well, just in case: he’s a two-dimensional 1930’s black and white style cartoon rabbit who wears a pair of overalls. He runs across flat surfaces kinda like a shadow and he can’t talk. He can also change his size at will and do cartoony things that wouldn’t normally make sense.

My character is Rory. You haven’t met him yet.

He’s busy being a traumatized handful.

                              Reúven & Liora (School Grounds)

It was almost dark as night before the school lit their way with it’s enthusiasm for lights. Liora followed Reúven up the front steps a little closer than she would have normally.

“You know, we would have been in so much trouble if we were out after dark a few years ago.”

“A few years ago?” He held the door open with a grin. “I could run the streets all I wanted.”

A passing janitor waved at them from his mop bucket. They waved back and took to the stairs.

                              “After dark?” She smirked.

“Well, I guess not.” He paused on one landing, head tilted thoughtfully. “The donuts were worth it though.

                              “Donuts?”

“Yes! The street vendor up the way made the best donuts before the sun was up.”

“Is this the vendor that had the Coodoodle bird?”

“No, no. That was the aulieve seller on Ishlak Street. This one had a cat. It was mean, but it liked me.”

She laughed, which made him laugh too. His hazel eyes twinkled as he swung up onto the next set of stairs.

                              “And your father didn’t mind?”

“Like I said. The donuts were worth it. When he couldn’t get them, I realized we needed some brave hero to get them for us. So I became one.”

“The donut hero. You did pay for them, right?”

                              “As if I wouldn’t!”

She watched him, her own grey eyes quiet. Expressionless. He shook his head.

“Sometimes he gave them to me.”

                              “Willingly?”

“What do you think?” He caught the banister and swung himself around to face her. Because just turning was too boring. She raised her eye brows.

“I think you were an honest little kid who never snuck something you weren’t supposed to. Never took something without paying. Never-”

“Oh hush. You’re the thief.” He stomped up to the landing above.

                              “False accusations! I plead innocent.”

“Hmm.” He looked down at her from the next flight. “She protests too much.”

                              “What are you talking about?”

But he only laughed and called back over his shoulder. “Race you, Ishdoti.”

She pounded up after him, yelling insults in return. Not that most girls would call Heart-friend or Beloved an insult. Liora was special.

I have met Rory. Remember the twins? And I have been reading your rps. So it was a name mix up, not a person mix up lol
