I’m gonna start putting my characters locations by their names so I can keep track. No one else has to do it, I just personally like doing it.
@elishavet-pidyon @whalekeepernew character(s) :]
Brea Thorne, the library
Brea walked proudly past the shelves and tables, carrying her algebra textbook which was nearly the same size as her. Today she wore her favorite dress, her favorite red shoes, and a new red ribbon to match which tied back her dark curls. She felt more than ready to start her new school. She just needed to catch up on some homework first.
She scanned the room for a place to sit, but instead she noticed the moving shadow-like form of Benny Rabbit. Her eyes narrowed as she watched the two-dimensional cartoon race across the wall and pause next to a framed painting. It was a portrait of a stern looking woman in a purple dress.
She seemed important.
Benny grinned evilly, and, using his pointer finger, drew a curly black mustache on the woman’s face.
Brea gasped. Her pale cheeks reddened. Benny meanwhile doubled over in silent laughter at his own comedic genius.
“What are you doing?” Brea hissed at him as she began striding forward. “This is school. School is serious. You need to be— agh!” Just then, she tripped on a loose rug and tumbled onto the ground, skinning her knee in the process. Her textbook hit the ground with a thud and slid a few feet away. Immediately, frustrated tears began to well up, but she fought them back. You’re a fifth grader now, Brea. Act like it.

Leo
His eyebrows shot up. A car? That helped the fight scene make a lot more sense, but-
Mechanical injuries. He blinked, grimaced, and slipped off his helmet.
“Yes ma’am. I’ll do what I can.”
He slipped through the door, softly closing it behind him. All was quiet. For a few moments, Leo let the calm silence of the place sweep over him and ease the adrenaline pounding through his blood. A sigh slipped out.
Golden light from the setting sun filled the western windows, turning the pews into warm gold. Leo smiled, scanning the place for Rory.
“Rory? Kid?” His boots clumped on the hardwood floor.
There. Collapsed beneath the Good Shepherd window. Leo slipped around the last pews and dropped to one knee beside the boy. His helmet clinked as it hit the floor.
“Rory. Thank God, you’re here.” Leo brushed dark hair out of the boy’s face, noting bruises and scarlet smears. His throat tightened. “Oh, Rory. Kid.”
First Grand Historian of Arreth and the Lesser Realms (aka Kitty)
Fork the GorkDecember 21, 2024 at 4:52 pm #192651For those who may need to know; my characters will be back at the school in the morning (or as soon as is safe for them. I do agree that these agent creeps need to be put in their place)

Fork the GorkDecember 21, 2024 at 5:51 pm #192656Here we go!
Viktor (Library)
The book was thick. Too thick. Viktor rubbed his forehead where a sharp pain had started. He had not realized how much he had fallen behind in the shuffle between houses. Maybe if this was his mother tongue it would make sense.
He slapped the book shut. If he had to wait until Reúven could help him, then he had to wait. He leaned back to survey his table.
Math: done. Numbers stayed the same no matter the language used to explain them. Literature was done too because reading an ancient ballad on apple blossoms didn’t require knowing what a gerund was. That left science and history.
He picked up the history book and curled up in his chair. It was written like no history book he’d met before. Exquisite illustrations lined the margins of each page. He ran a mottled finger over the delicate features of a little girl. A sword gleamed in her hand, so she was probably the child queen the passage was talking about.
Children in war.
“— agh!” Someone cried out as a loud thud shook the floor beneath him. Viktor shot to his feet with a clatter of books that were not so carefully balanced anymore. He tripped on the English book but caught himself on the edge of the table before landing on top of a sprawled form. A girl by the looks of it. No sword in sight.
“Miss? Are you hurt?” He held out a hand to help her up. Not that any hand so scarred would be a particularly calming sight. He winced.
You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan
