Wow. Look what happens when I step off for a day. These were really fun to read through!
Eira is an Alve, although she has Forester blood too. Without an idea of who she is, she has been raised in an orphanage that doesn’t believe the Light exists, and that the Alven are mere fairy tales. She is taught first of all the Light, the Morning Star (Revelations), doesn’t exist or doesn’t care, and that her Alven sight is a mental disorder. Thus she’s fading.
Eira is from a somewhat allegorical world, so her illness is a little hard to translate here. In her world those who are saved/know God are called children of the Light/Morning Star, so most of the Alven and Foresters. Eira, and the other ‘children of man’ represent the lost. Now the Alven are, even in their world, physical representations of the spiritual, so she’s slowly dying because the wages of sin are death, and as she is Alven that means a physical death.
For here I was actually thinking that she has either her immune system is attacking itself, or she has some sort of cancer. But I don’t want her to die, so someone had better come up with an answer…*glares at her author in the mirror*
And you probably didn’t need all that.
(And as bad as it is, she really doesn’t look quite as awful as she thinks.)

I felt tears gathering in my eyes, but managed to hold them back. I’d heard those words before, or at least some extremely like them, but they’d never held true. Yet somehow…I just nodded and waited for her to finish eating before I got up to take my plate to the trash.
“What’s your next class?” Her voice was cheerful again.
“Algebra. You?”
I followed her out of the cafeteria until we split ways, but still, for the rest of the day, her bright smile flickered at the back of my mind, almost, almost bringing my own in reply.
Untill I ran into one of the royal creeps. There was blood on his knuckles, and a malicious smile on his face. He winked at a few other girls in passing, as if no one could see the guilt on his hands. He saw me glaring at him, and the smile grew wider. Like a shark’s.
“Hey, what are you looking at?”
Before I could hardly think, my hand had reached out and gripped his wrist, turning it back and forth as I stared at the crimson smears. Boiling rage rose inside, squeezing his arm tighter and tighter. He tried to wrench it away, shock and furious words mixing with the pain in his eyes, but the more he fought the tighter I squeezed.
“You are the prince of fools.”
I nearly spit at him as I let go and stormed away, leaving my handprint behind.
The smile from earlier was gone.

“Ugh why’s the water here so blasted cold?” Nyx hissed, turning off the faucet and reaching for the automated paper dispenser on the wall.
His nose twitched in agitation as he dried his now freezing hands and then chunked the paper into a nearby waste bin.
Placing his hands in his pockets, he sighed, leaning against the sinks.
He wasn’t quite ready to go back out yet…
Seeing as this was one of the only places he knew his sister wouldn’t find him.
Then again…
If he knew anything about Jocelyn, she would probably be willing to sneak in here just to drag him out.
Bah. Stupid flyer. Stupid club. Stupid…
The bathroom door opened and Riker shuffled in, clutching his stomach. His lips and skull dripped blood from multiple cuts, and his clothes were a mess.
He limped his way over the sinks, using them to hold his weight, and then let out a long breath.
Nyx’s eyes widened.
“Whoa. You look like crap.”
Riker glanced at the kit, a small smile twitching at his lips. He gave a weak chuckle.
“Heh. Thanks…”
“Get the plates of the car that hit ya?”
Riker snorted, leaning over the sink. He turned the faucet on, shakily reaching a few fingers under it. He slowly began wiping at the blood on his face, revealing bruises.
Nyx grimaced, ears twitching. He looked away, shifting uncomfortably.
“Let me guess…one of the brothers right? But which set? The winged pests, or Dumb and dumber?”
Riker let out a laugh at that, and then glanced at the kid.
“Better be careful…saying that…”
Nyx shrugged. “Meh.” Nyx jumped up onto the sink counter, sitting down with his legs hanging off. “I’m not the one who just walked into the bathroom looking like I got mauled by a bear.”
“Ah…true enough…”
Nyx glanced at Riker again, at the blood washing down the sink. He twitched, looking away, face going pale.
Riker glanced at him. “You don’t care much for blood, huh?”
Nyx scowled, eyes narrowing.
“It’s okay…most people don’t. I’d…be kinda worried if you did care for it,” Riker laughed.
Nyx bit his cheek, looking away. He crossed his arms, then shrugged. “I’m fine with it.”
Riker raised a brow. “You’re a pretty good liar.”
Nyx huffed. “And you should mind your own business. Just like I do mine.” He glanced at Riker’s sleeve, making sure Riker noticed.
Riker’s eyes widened.
Nyx turned away.

gasp! I just realized this is kinda cool/cute which Jocelyn and Angelina kinda being friends and Angelina and now Nyx and Riker talking, and neither of them want to talk about it either!!
so In this AU, Nyx went thru some physical abuse by someone close to the family at the time (who will be mentioned as the backstory is revealed) but Jocelyn was just mentally and gaslighted, by her uncle (they both were) and this person.
so it’s almost like two sides of the same coin with Angelina and Riker, with Angelina just thinking it’s all Normal and stuff

so maybe since this is still fantasy, it’s still like in ur normal series, so when her brother finds her and she begins to gain truth again, her body begins to heal?
