Fynn backed away, shoving his hands into his pockets. “Alright. Sorry to bother you,” he added in a murmur. Navin walked off, but he kept looking different directions and his quick pace slowed down.

Fynn tapped him on the shoulder. “Something makes me think you don’t know where class is.” He smirked. He thought he saw another glare from Navin and quickly erased his smirk. “I’d be glad to help you though.”

This a drawing I did with a No. 2 average pencil and a tissue. It’s supposed to be one of the drawings Chase drew in class, and the signature and writing is in his style. (I write in cursive, that’s how you can tell. Print drives me nuts)

I used your average No. 2 school pencil. it was weird, since I’ve been using my drawing pencils for the last four years, but it was fun to get back for a couple drawings to my roots. My materials were a “Marker Paper Sheet” that is actually just rebranded expensive printer paper in a pad!!!! An average soft tissue, and a NO. 2 school pencil with an eraser that actually erased!!! would you believe it!

“Yeah, thanks.” Navin murmured with a shrug.

He wasn’t aware of the class’s location, so maybe help would be all right, and at least he didn’t have to ask for it.

Now that he knew which stone did what, he could’ve utilized those, but it was too late for that and Navin assumed it would be rude or simply awkward to say no. Then again, he knew almost nothing when it came to socializing, due to the fact he expertly avoided it.

“Wha- where is it?” Navin inquired, glancing around, “The uh… class?”

Paxton blushed and hid his face as Hugo stared at the large bruise taking up a sizable portion of his left side.

He shook his head at Hugo’s question, letting the concerned boy know that he had not caused it. This only made his concern, and questioning gaze, grow.

“Hm…” he tilted his head but shrugged, a small smile tugging at his lips, though the concern didn’t depart. “Well…nonetheless, im Hugo. Once again, I’m sorry I frightened you, it wasn’t my intention.” He held out a hand for the boy.

Shakily, Paxton took it, letting the other help him to his feet. Noticing another pair of bright eyes staring at him (Jax), Paxton flushed, inching away, tugging his hood back up again.

Hugo smiled, “No need to be frightened, promise.” He shook the boys hand gently. “Do you have a name I could call you?”

Paxton looked at his shoes, swallowing the tightness in his throat.

it was still so hard to talk to strangers…but…he could do this…

Jaz  is short for Jasmine. If you hear Jazzy too, that’s just the same little Dragon. Jr has a pet dragon, very friendly. Does have teeth, but their small and only for eating insects and minnows. Very friendly. Acts like a dog mixed with a cat. closest thing I can think of is a terrible terror from Httyd. Same size, same temperment, different looks and colors.

Hugo

“Nice to meet you, bud. But you should get something for that eye…”

The crowd, overflowing from the next free period, was no place for an overstimulated Paxton.

Hugo glanced at Nar, bouncing on his heels uncertainly.

He didn’t think she had an ice pack on her, and besides, he had plenty of experience with being punched in the face. He could handle a tiny child just as well.

Hugo’s  honey eyes flickered back and forth, until he could think of no other alternative. He grinned gently, and rolled his shirt sleeve up to take Paxton’s hand. “Come on, moppet… you need some ice on that pretty shiner.”

The baby boy – Hugo would always see blond ragamuffins as babies – hesitated, and hid his face again.

“Aw, come on… I don’t bite.”

Paxton took his hand.

Before Nar, Wolfgang or Jr. took notice, Hugo quietly swept Pax off and down the hall.

Hugo was a fast, quiet boy, and combining that with his shadowy height, he moved like ghost deer escorting a dandelion seed. Now and then, he laughed with a passing group, or slipped around to gracefully maneuver multiple people out of a tangle.

They came to the kitchen door. As it opened, a wave of golden smells and noises hit them both.

“Holy Miss Beauty Pageant,” Hugo breathed.

The preparations for the dance were in full swing. Cakes and frosted wonders piled the counters, much more palatable than the normal cafeteria menu.

As the two boys stepped in, a cook snapped in their faces. “Get out! Out! Shoo!”

“I’m dreadfully sorry, but I need to fetch something.” Hugo’s whole face filled with enough warmth to rival the ovens. “This gorgeous spread is watering my mouth, but of course it can wait till tomorrow! I promise I understand the stress. Sprinkled with nightmares, of piled layer cakes falling over… a stray hair in the soup…”

The cook blinked back sudden tears.

“Do you mind if I borrow your freezer? I promise I’m not hiding a body in it or anything.”

“Alright then, but be quick.”

“Thank you so much!” Hugo scooped Paxton up and over the confections, into the freezer room.

One piece of ice, wrapped in a rag, worked nicely. Hugo rolled his other sleeve up and held it to Paxton’s face. “There. What do you think? Suits like a dream?”

“Th… Thank y-you.” The boy took the ice and stood there, barely balancing, still looking away.

Hugo leaned casually against the wall. His smile remained genuine and concerned. “Not that you need to answer… but do your parents hit you, moppet?”

“Okay then.” Ellie made as if to leave.

“Wait! Here’s what I want. I’ve always wanted world domination, but high school’s the next best thing.” Seb threw his chin up. “Can you… perchance… keep the lights off for a little longer than necessary?”

“Sure. Why?”

“Oh, nothing.” He shook her hand, and hopped back down the stairs. “I’ll be back!”

Paxton was gone, taken by the weird boy…Wolfgang didn’t even know his name! No one ever wanted to explain anything to him! He wasn’t a baby! He could take it, he really could!!

But everyone treated him like he couldn’t understand!

It wasn’t fair!

 

And obviously no one wanted his help anyhow! Why didn’t he just leave then!?

Wolfgang huffed and turned on his heel, ignoring the other people around. He marched away, each step louder than one would probably deem necessary.

 

He didn’t care what they said and he didn’t care what they thought. He knew what class he had next, and he knew who would also be in his class. He’d go to class with Jakob.

Maybe his brother would understand.
