I lost Ev and Ami. XD Instead of having them converse any more, I’m just gonna have her be leaving. I’m sure Ev wants to talk to Falon. (Speaking of… @smiley, are Falon and Easton still dancing rn? I can’t remember their last RP)

Ami

Ami enjoyed the silence as she strolled down the sidewalk in the orange glow of the sunset. The occasionally whoosh of a car passing by soothing her wild emotions.

She stopped at a nearby cafe and ordered a chai latte, letting it warm her hands as she sat in a cool metal chair outside the cafe. Something had felt perfect when she was dancing with Ev. She wasn’t sure what it was, but it was like she felt secure in his arms. She brushed away the contrast to when she had danced with Clint. It was only because she knew Ev well. The same thing happened whenever she hugged her dad.

But… Ev was different.

Ugh, she hated these conflicting emotions. Why couldn’t everyone just be friends and nobody gets married in the end? Well, if her parents hadn’t gotten married, then she wouldn’t have existed. She trashed the idea and rephrased her question. Why did people in high school have to be so difficult?

Yeah, that was a good question to mull over. But the more she thought about it, the more she discouraged herself. She refocused her thoughts on what was around her, enjoying the warmth of the setting sun. A breeze whispered in her ear as the bright orange and red leaves rustled in the trees.

God was here.

She felt a warmth growing in her chest… and it wasn’t the latte. She reveled in the silence for a few more moments, soaking in the peace of God’s presence.

 

Woah, I did not know that would happen. I might just have to use that in my actual book. XD

Clint

Clint stepped outside the small cafe, a small thing of boba tea in hand, gently swaying his arms back and forth slightly.

He took a long sip and almost choked on his boba.

Clint blinked several times, using his free hand to shield his eyes from the bright light of the sunset, and faced a girl sitting in a metal chair just outside the cafe walls. “Amidala? What-what are you doing–I didn’t expect to see you here.”

Ami

She jumped when broken out of the moment, but smiled when she saw Clint was the one who had interrupted. “I was just relaxing for a bit before going back to campus.” She motioned towards the chair on the other side of the table. “Wanna join me?”

He agreed and slid into the chair across from her.

“What brought you here?”

“What brought you here?”

Clint gave Amidala his signature grin–a grin he knew only Nat could see through–and shrugged. “Just was in the mood for some boba and all of my friends are pretty busy with school and other things. What about you?”

Ami 

“What about you?”

Ami couldn’t hold back the small smile that dance across her face when she saw him grin. “Just was in the mood for a chai latte. And…” Her sentence trailed as she caught Ev walking down the sidewalk with another girl. She noticed how obvious her distraction was and faced Clint again with a smile and a sigh. “I was just enjoying the fall evening.”

“I was just enjoying the fall evening.”

Clint nodded, following the direction of Ami’s previous side gaze.

He bit his lip and faced Ami again, offering her a smile he hoped didn’t look too fake.

 

“You know, you can go with Everton if you want to the dance…I’ve thought about it and he really is best for you. Way better than me.”

She opened and closed her mouth, blinking a few times before finally responding. “Wha— wait, what made you think that?”

He motioned with his head towards Ev just as he turned the corner.

“Oh…” She stared at her chai latte, slowly tapping her fingers against the warm cup. “No.” The intensity in her voice shocked herself. “I-I mean, um, no.” She softened her tone and met his eyes. “I said I’d go to the dance with you and I still will. And even if everything doesn’t work out the way we— the way I thought it would, then we’ll still be friends, okay?”

Clint glanced away, unable to meet Ami’s kind gaze.

He sighed and brushed back his brown hair, silently chided himself, and fixed his hair back down again slightly, hiding the small scar on his forehead. He pulled his jacket sleeves down to his wrists as far as he dared and finally looked back at Amidala. “…I don’t know if you want that either. Really…Everton…he-he really is better for you. You don’t know enough about me. You really don’t.”

Ami

Clint fidgeted with his hair and his sleeves for a moment before finally responding. “…I don’t know if you want that either. Really…Everton…he-he really is better for you. You don’t know enough about me. You really don’t.”

“I…” She wet her lips. “Clint, Ev has his problems too. Nobody’s perfect. You… you’re special in your own way and the experiences you’ve had and the traits you’ve developed have made you into who you are today. And… I really like that Clint.” She didn’t care how her cheeks flushed slightly.

Okay, I’ve been thinking…

I’ve decided the foster system people (not sure if this would be a real-life foster thing, haven’t looked it up, but this is fantasy, I can have some liberties) sent him to boarding school because there’s trouble and friction going on over him.

I’ve been thinking about the Marshall’s trying to adopt Chase, but then Chase’s supposed aunt shows up on his father’s side. She would be Chase’s guardian, but they haven’t yet verified if she’s legit. I’ve been wanting to see how this would affect Chase. Since this is an AU, I could play with this idea, even though parts of Chase’s timeline in the real Chase Universe wouldn’t line up yet for this to happen.

I’d like your thoughts. Should I play with this, or leave Chase alone?
