He let out a quick laugh, his voice cracking. For some reason, all the words jumbling around in his head couldn’t manage to come out in a logical sentence. Finally, after opening and closing his mouth a few times, he cleared his throat and found something to say. “W-well, um, I, I guess I got lucky then.” He flashed a lopsided smile, hoping his statement didn’t sound as stupid to Liv as it sounded to him.

I have a feeling this isn’t going to be ‘real quick,’ as Lukas put it. XD Fynn’s gonna be like, “Aww, you went on your first date!” And Lukas is going to deny it until he finally gives in. 🤣

Nahim Jr bowed his head once more.
“Then I shall demonstrate, mi’ Warrioress.” Stepping back, Jr began by whistling a sweet tune, slowly at first, and walking behind his imaginationary partner. Sliding his hand around her invisible waist, still whistling slowly, he led her away a few paces, before picking up the tune’s pace. He locked forearm’s with his partner, and spun in a quickening circle. He switched forearm’s spinning again, tune and movements quickening. They switched forearm’s one last time, before he held her invisible hands and the dance really began. The pace quickened, an his feet was never still except when he kneeled upon one knee, with hihand abovhim, leading e girl in a circle around him. Faster and faster the dance got, until it finalized, with Jr lifting his partner of the ground. He stopped, and turned to Saourse, smiling.
“I haven’t danced in I don’t know how long! I usually only play and sing!” Composing himself, Jr approached her, bowed his head, and held out his right hand, palm up.
“You hand, mi’ Warrioress, if you are ready.”

Saoirse watched his movements carefully with a keen eye as he demonstrated.
“You hand, mi’ Warrioress, if you are ready.” He said when he was done, holding out his hand. Saoirse paused momentarily, rethinking all her life choices that had somehow got her here, before taking it.

That was pretty short, but I’m half-dead from karate rn, so oh well.

Lukas led Liv out of the room, her hand in his, hoping to avoid Fynn’s gaze. Thankfully, the woman at the front counter faced the back wall, grappling with paperwork. The two sneaked out, only bursting into laughter once outside.
“That was too close,” Lukas said, his laughter subsiding.
They strolled down the sidewalk, hand-in-hand— Lukas shoved his hand into his pocket, his cheeks burning with embarrassment. Now they strolled down the sidewalk in an awkward silence while others silently passed by them and cars whizzed down the street.
He breathed in the fresh evening air. “Alright,” he said, forcing himself to abolish the awkwardness of the situation. “L-looks like there’s a, a diner down there… We c-could get ice cream too. Un-unless you, um, want to get something e-else.”
I can’t believe he’s still so nervous. 🤭
