Calvin
The boy Guardian was in a demon’s vice-like grip.
Almost instantly, Chase and the new girl reacted. The first transformed into a scaly black snake, hissing a warning in the demon’s face, while the other teleported and threatened with a sword.
Babs only stepped closer and begged, “You’re hurting him! Marcel please! Listen to Chase, don’t do this again, please, stop!”
Unfortunately, Cloud-Boy was now unconscious. He heard none of the fuss.
The demon rolled its eyes up at the sword girl, and gurgled with laughter. “But this is no kidnapping, my dear. Only a happy meeting.”
It hissed a command spell, and something across the room darted forward.
A short black creature, wearing a plague mask, whipped into Chase’s face with a shriek. It reached down for the floor, and pulled the snake’s shadow from under it, sending the reptile rolling into a nearby table.
Then it turned on the sword girl with a vengeance.
Calvin acted. He dashed over to the corner of the room, away from the struggle, and dumped his entire satchel of books and papers on the floor. “Felicity, help me.”
“With what?” The girl kneeled next to him.
“See that gold stuck on Marcel’s head?” He pointed.
“Yes.”
“One of these books has a release spell in it. I don’t remember which one. If we can find it, he’ll be restored enough to punch his way out of there. As long as those two magic kids can distract the monsters. Do you know spells?”

Rina
As a black, masked thing came towards her, Rina dropped through a portal. Her gravity switched as she came out, but her momentum carried her on, feet-first towards the demon’s back.
“Nice try, sucker!” she shouted.

I left it there because I don’t know what would happen next. Is the demon even physical? Can they touch it?

📚 Appreciator of BooksOoh, does Chase always have black scales/fur/whatever when he transforms? Or is it more of a whim?
He can change colors, but black or grey, with sometimes a sheen of green are like his default colors. He does master color changes and shifting later I his life, but rn it takes a lot out of him.

Chase Duke
As he collided with the table, he looked back at Sef. She was okay. He glanced at Marcel. He was unconscious.
“No!” He rose from the floor, his fangs bared and ready. Launching himself towards Marcel, he wrapped his entire snake body around the godling. The cobra hood of Chase folding out to shield Marcel’s face from the demon, as Chase tried to bite at it. He knew he could do little damage, unless demons reacted well to shyiad venom.

#AnduthForever (hopefully💕)Oh, shyiads have two types of venom, and one type of poison. The first venom temporarily paralyzes, the second kills almost instantly. The poison can be coated on his scales, and absorbed into the skin. It makes it’s victim sick, and eventually will cause death if not treated. Chase is not using his poison or spines (nor his third fang) rn, only the kill venom.

Chaos erupted in the fortune teller’s shop. The portal girl and Chase attacked. They were powerful and were giving the monsters plenty of trouble. Felicity had no weapons and she had used up her only spell for a silly prank. She was helpless. She hated being helpless.
Calvin dashed past her. “Felicity, help me.”
She was at his side in a moment. “With what?”
“See that gold stuck on Marcel’s head?”
“Yes.”
“One of these books has a release spell in it. I don’t remember which one. If we can find it, he’ll be restored enough to punch his way out of there. As long as those two magic kids can distract the monsters. Do you know spells?”
“Yes, but I’m all out,” she said earnestly, showing him her bare arms. Calvin looked confused.
“What? No, search through this.” He slid a book towards her across the floor. She snatched it up and flipped through it, glancing up anxiously every few seconds. She finished searching the book, threw it on the ground, and grabbed another. Chase let out another loud hiss in the background, but she forced herself to focus.
“Found it!” Felicity slapped the page in triumph. “What now?”

Saoirse slumped against the wall, scowling around at everyone. Sparks of light danced in her palms, though they didn’t seem as bright as usual in contrast to this world. With a huff, she extinguished the light and let her hands drop to her sides.
