These people were the only ones willing to help at this point. He turned to Felicity. “There really isn’t anywhere else. He could be in his dorm, but he has to text us when he’s returned to the school, and he told me he would be at practice. He always keeps his promises. Do either of you know this location?”

“I guess,” Lukas shrugged.
“Oh!” Liv exclaimed, “There’s Callie and Fynn! Do you want to switch partners with them?”
“Sure,” Lukas said, smiling at her. Liv blushed, but turned away before he could see. At least she hoped that he didn’t see.
“Hi guys!” Liv walked up to them. “Do you guys want to switch partners? I think that’s what everyone else is doing.”

He bounced right back over to Liv. “My bad.” A laughing glance at Lukas. “Let me try again.” He cleared his throat and repeated the same thing he had done to Lukas. “May I have this dance?”

A portal into her pocketspace appeared, and she dropped Sliver back inside.
“If you won’t duel, you don’t get to take my boots,” she said. “You can confiscate this though.” She pulled out a pen, flicked it in his direction and jumped through a portal, teleporting to the other side of the room.

“You know what… I don’t know.” He flashed her a grin. After a beat of silence, Fynn said, “So, I guess you’re going to the dance with Lukas. He’s not as… uncontrollable as I am, but,” he changed his voice to sound like an old, learned professor, “he’s quite an interesting specimen of the human race.”
They shared a laugh for a moment, then Fynn gave her a soft smile. “But really, if you need any advice with dealing with that guy, I’m your man.”

He tilted his head. “Well, not really if I don’t want to embarrass him, but tons and tons of stuff if I’m willing to embarrass him. I’m feeling nice, so… yeah, not much.”
Lukas and Callie danced by them at that moment, Lukas casting Fynn a concerned look. Fynn only gave him a confident smile and turned back to Liv. “He doesn’t trust me. But I don’t blame him. I wouldn’t trust me either. I’m too devious. So, I guess you’re excited to go to the dance with him?”
Liv didn’t answer right away.
“Oh, I’m talking too much, aren’t I? You know what, tell me about yourself.” He urged her on with a genuine smile.

“Well, I’m from the world Andromeda, and I’m an Aquino. That’s where I get my blue skin, hair, and eyes, and,” she closed her eyes for a moment and summoned her powers, “I can do this-” she dropped Fynn’s hand for a moment, just as water shot from her fingertips. She quickly caught the water and it disappeared into her hand again. “Xandro can do that too, he just doesn’t normally choose to do it. Plus, using your powers takes a lot of energy and strength, and it’s better to conserve it, especially if you’re fighting someone.”
