“Hey, wait, hold on.” Felicity held both of Babs hands in hers and looked her in the eye. “Whatever’s happening, it’s not one bit your fault. Marcel’s not a child.” She quickly scanned the room, trying to spot Calvin or Lois. “Would looking for him help you feel better?”

Babs

Babs wiped at her eyes. “Okay…”

They decided to do a sweep around the room, one girl starting by the exits, the other by the entrance. But Babs knew dolefully, as she trudged off to her side, that she would have seen the Guardian easily by his powers.

She was right. When they reunited in the middle, no bubblegum boy.

Felicity squeezed her hand. “He should be fine. He’s powerful, right?”

“Yes, but… it’s not good when he goes missing. Sometimes magical beings, demons, they’ll track him down.” Babs took in a deep breath. “And, I, I’ve had to deal with demons before. Any weakness they expose is fully your choice, but sometimes you make the wrong choices. I don’t want this, Fel, not now. I knew he shouldn’t have tagged along to high school, he’s got horrible self-esteem as it is.”

She spied Calvin near the entrance, pacing back and forth – his phone up to his ear, then down, then up. He caught Babs’ eyes and shook his head.

“Listen, Babs.” Felicity gazed at her calmly, steadily. “I don’t know Marcel, I’m not his friend. You have to tell me what he might want to do. Otherwise I can’t do anything.”

Babs tried to think.

She was so, so bad at thinking.

“Um… there was an address,” she thought out loud. “But we shouldn’t go try to go there just yet, because we don’t really know the city. It could be someone who stole his phone.”

What would the grumpy boy do? How could she guess?

After all, Felicity had said she couldn’t do anything, because she didn’t know Marcel – and that was true even for Babs sometimes. He was so frustratingly private.

“Oh!” Babs exclaimed. “Fel, you’re a genius!”

“Come again?” Felicity cocked her head like a bird.

“I can’t guess what he feels. But he always acts. And when he acts, everyone always notices. We should ask some people if they saw him. Super depressed people.”

…

This is where Chase would come in, @rae 😅 Also I am just winging this so we’ll see what happens.

Okay, I decided on who the literature teacher can be, but I won’t introduce them yet since there aren’t any classes right now. It’s a character I’ve used in another RP, and the image I have in my head of them teaching a class is cracking me up.

I think you’re writing her pretty well except she probably isn’t completely calm rn. But she would be pretending to be for Babs’ sake, so nvm, it’s good.

Felicity

“Like… angsty depressed teens? Or people who pretend they aren’t depressed, but then you look at them and you can clearly see that they… Ohhh wait, I think I see one.”

Felicity nodded at a boy standing nearby. Sadness and tragedy seemed to almost come off of him in waves. He hugged himself around the middle, looking nervous and unsure. Then, he caught Felicity and Babs staring at him and looked even more nervous.

(Sorry @rae I don’t remember what Chase looks like.)

The girls walked over to him. Felicity’s height and purposeful stride seemed to intimidate the boy, and he took a step back. She paused, trying to seem as sweet and non threatening as Babs.

“Excuse us, we’re looking for a friend. Pink hair, floats around on a little cloud sometimes. Name’s Marcel. Have you seen him?”

“So, will you fight? Or do you yield?”

“False dichotomy,” Gregory grumbled.

“What was that, tyrant?”

Several students had stopped dancing and were now watching them, some curious and some nervous.

“The rules are in place so that these students can enjoy their dance as much as possible, I’m sure. You are not only breaking those rules, you are also making others nervous with your threats and your sword. Not very heroic of you.”

It’s okay. Chase has black hair, pale skin. His irises are usually black, but change color. Green means he has earned your trust. He’s wearing currently a white T-shirt and jeans. Oh, and his arms and hands are noticeably scarred.

One note, if Sef is with Chase, he’d step in front of her and act very different, but I guess Sef isn’t there so… Whatever.

Without Sef, he felt like nothing again. He fell back into his old, scared self as two girls approached him. Goosebumps formed on his arms.

“Excuse us, we’re looking for a friend. Pink hair, floats around on a little cloud sometimes. Name’s Marcel. Have you seen him?”

Chase’s head jerked up, his eyes turned a dark green, before becoming black at the memory of Marcel.

“Y-yeah. We, we were…at s-some kind of sh-shop. He, he left. Wh-why do you ask?”

Chase is gonna ask to go with Babs and Felicity so he can apologize to Marcel, and I think he’d want to either make sure Sef was okay with him leaving and coming back, or taking her with him. What do you think?
