Nahim Jr
As Nar whispered with Hugo rather suspiciously, a woman who apparently led the dance classes approached him and began scolding him for wearing boots… And she was rather shocked when the dragon popped out of hiding from behind Jr.
“My! Is that thing registered? Boots and unregistered things!”
“Hey, take care. Jaz doesn’t like being called a ‘thing.'”
“I don’t care what Jaz likes or doesn’t! Is it registered or not?”
“She is not.”
“Then out she goes! And take those boots off! You could crush someone with those!.” Jr glared at her, not compliant. “Do it, or you go out!”
“I don’t care what you say, this is my little sis, who is registered here for lessons, and I’m her responsible adult making sure she’s alright. I’m not going to dance with anyone.”
The woman sighed.
“I guess you can keep the boots if you stay here, but the pet goes!”
“No! She stays here! She gets rather lonely without me, and when she gets lonely she tries to create something to play with. Do you want a fire to start because you caused a poor little creature with no other family to be shunned away?”
“She can stay with Dolly at the desk, you can stay there too!”
“No!” Jr yelled, his voice echoing into the entire room. “I’m here to protect my sister! I stay here, and Jaz stays with me!” Some of the dance partners stopped and stared. The woman, ruffled, nodded obediently and walked away like a whipped dog.
Jr looked at the staring dancers.
“Nothing to see here.” Jaz distinctively roles her retillian eyes, twitched her tail and hung over Jr’s shoulder like a scaly scarf.
"You need French Toast."
Don’t worry about it, I’m pretty sure almost everyone on this rp wants to see him (I do!). Unforunately, Chase will only go looking for him to apologize for offending him (which he still thinks he did) and that would be after he dances with Sef.

Okay, I’ll do that eventually.
Hugo
When Nar mentioned Nahim’s mask of hate – and as Nahim made a fuss over his dragon on the side, raising his voice at the desk woman – Hugo pressed a hand to his chest with repressed laughter. Masks of hate were a fashion statement in Lovedream, and to see that again, here of all places, warmed his heart. “Awesome. Oh, Nar, if we do happen to go to the dance together, you should know I already have a suit. It’s black with warm accents, I believe.”

“Is that an invitation? If it is, I accept while Junior is occupied.” She laughed. “I hope you don’t want me to color match! Black is not my favorite color to wear, I much prefer lighter colors, like…like a sprout green, or baby blue, sandy tan or creamy yellow.” She tugged on the short sleeve of her shirt, “this is basically my wardrobe! If want me to wear black, I will.”

Chase watched the blissful expression upon Sef’s face. She’s beautiful. The thought formed before he could stop it.

It took a moment for Hugo to realize Nar had accepted, and when he did, his posture loosened. He let the anticipation in his eyes dull to a faint glimmer, hiding twin flames of excitement. What fun! “You don’t have to wear black! That’s just what I already have in my wardrobe. Absolutely anything will do.”

“Okay…I don’t often wear dresses actually. I got my skirt snagged in a piece of equipment when I was little…”
“What are you two talking about?” Junior had turned his attention back to them.
“Junior, would you mind going around with us after this is Hugo doesn’t mind you tagging along?” Junior crossed his arms. Nar returned the posture, staring him in the eye.
“Maybe.”
"You need French Toast."
Aw, that’s cute! I really enjoy Rise of the Guardians and Klaus. Technically the first isn’t a Christmas movie, but it has one of my favorite versions of Santa.
I love Rise of the Guardians so much. That movie was an essential part of my childhood. Have you read the books?

I know, not head over heels yet, but he’s had lots of interactions with other girls so he’s used to initial heart flutters. He comes from a society where you go out on casual dates all the time. It takes a while for him to imprint on one girl… it’s a challenge 😂

“Of course he can come… if you know how to have fun.” Hugo switched gears towards Nahim, steadily maintaining gentle eye contact. He wasn’t fazed by this young man.

I haven’t read the books yet, but my sister has them and I might sit down with them some time. I love the movie, it’s so underrated! ❤️

“In that case, no.” Nar groaned in irritation. Nahim met Hugo’s gaze, almost admiring how he kept eye contact. Then again, he hadn’t seen Jr throw knives into the center of a target either.
“C’mon Jr! I thought you were here to protect me!”
“Hah! Since when have you pulled that card when you didn’t want to manipulate me?”
“C’mon, for me…please?” Jr sighed and broke eye contact with Hugo.
“Ya know, the only one more persuasive than you is Nae.” Nar smiled. “I’ll come, for you.” Jr cracked a pleasant smile back at Nar. “I’ll be waiting here.” Jr leaned back against the wall again as Hugo and Nar whisked away in the next dance.
“He’s in a nice mood right now. I think, if you got him to laugh, you would for sure make quick friends with him. He needs good friends, his ‘friend’ to him is the knife he keeps in his boot.”

“Right.” Her older brother seemed easygoing enough, if a little combat-centric and intimidating to some.
The two headed off into the mass. A slightly faster beat played, with just a touch of syncopation. Not all out, but energetic enough to sent a shiver down Hugo’s spine.
“It’s my turn to teach you a dance.” He backed away, fluttering his hands over his face dramatically.
Nar laughed. “What are you doing?”
“We call this the Shiftbox.”
His heels tapped, a blur on the floor, but his upper body shifted from gliding without a touch of vibration, and hanging loosely like a doll. The black lines around his eyes deepened again, but within, still steady, flaming amber.
When he tired, his legs swung slower, and he began to bounce. “Some entertainment companies would use this dance to play up criminal concentration. Lovedream has a steady, unbearably quiet rhythm, flowing through the world. You gotta watch out for the mindless. A gangster learns how to blend in within a crowd, and this dance mocks that.”
Sebastian knew the dance better, but Hugo wore it better. And no wonder; he loved to be playfully creepy.
