I want to send Almarrin. I want to squish Aramis. And I want to do it now. XD
First Grand Historian of Arreth and the Lesser Realms (aka Kitty)

So, in the series, Alwin is reached by a man with a burden for the children of the serfs. (Kinda like bus ministry) Alwin, who first comes because there’s food, realizes that they have something. From a very young age he had the understanding that all those who said they served the King were really just serving an empty feçade that was really just the same as what he had.
He’s not sure at first what it is, but he’s hungry.
And this hunger plants him in the heart of this man, Winton, and this man begins to do all he can to help Alwin, starting with encouraging him and connecting with him, to eventually taking him into his home. Alwin finds the a father figure he never had, and a freedom he never dreamed of. When he is given new Life, the shackle that he’s had for so long that bound him to that lifestyle is broken.
I’m not sure how that translates into this AU, except for taking it out of allegory.
Any thoughts?

Well first off we now have other charries in this AU to help reach Alwin 😊
secondly, you could always bring in Winton to the AU, perhaps as a teacher (one of those that wishes to truly connect with his students, or to change some of the things he sees in the school?)
Or a chaplain.
A preacher (like u mentioned the bud ministry smile)
Even the school librarian! (Cuz they do have a library.
So yea those are just some idea 😊 and he has a burden/love for the students of the school he works (and if he doesn’t work at the school, then just for youth in general)
So when he finds out about Alain’s addiction he takes it upon himself to try and help the boy.
GASP!’ I have a feeling he might could even help some of the other charries…
idk exactly what this Charrie of yours is like…but maybe his burden makes him start after school sessions for abused/addicted young people?! That would include most of my charries, and quite a few others (for the abuse)
ANYWAY even if ur Charrie doesn’t do that someone now needs to XD
we need a large group therapy session for our charries. XD

Almarrin
One of the boys had begun speaking, but he held up a hand to silence him, eyes locked on the confrontation near the lunch line.
A red headed boy with his arm in a sling had just pushed the Great Winged Brat away from a brown haired girl, but something about their exchange felt…off. not the normal push and shove of the bully’s. Where had he heard about…
“Oh no. It’s November.” Ruler’s face was white as flour, and he had half risen from his seat.
It clicked.
Almarrin stepped around the boys, and with a quiet “stay back”, strode towards the coming fight.
“Aramis Fallon, son of the fay.” His voice was quiet, but firm as he stepped behind the red head. “What do we have here?”
The brat glared at him suspiciously. “I don’t believe we’ve met yet, but you obviously know who I am, so stay out of my business.”
Almarrin gently pushed the two behind him and leveled hard grey eyes of the fay. “Not so. Sit down.”
“I said stay out of my business.” Malicious anger burned in Aramis’s face.
“Sit. Down.”
Aramis moved to strike him, but he managed to block the blow. He locked eyes with the raging young man and whispered, “Mene mene tekel upharsin.”
“What does that mean?!” Aramis drove his fist into the young ranger’s side, which Almarrin responded to by knocking the fay back into his seat.
“You have been measured and found lacking.”
He whirled away, taking the two kids with him.

November watched with wide eyes as this tall young man pushed Aramis back to his seat, then swiftly turned to him and Ara, pushing them forward.
“Shh. Heads down.” The young man spoke in quiet tone.
November kept moving, tripping a few times. Thankfully the young man kept him righted. Ara held to his good hand, squeezing it tightly.
Once the two were away from the crowd, at a small table away from the crowds, the young man released the two.
November blinked, recognizing Leo and Riker. Riker’s eyes were wide, creased with faint worry, but he smiled slightly. Leo stood.
“You two alright?” He asked.
November simply nodded, still a bit shocked.
“Yes, thank you…and, thank you,” Ara turned to the man who’d helped them. He bowed his head to her.
“O-Oh!” November straightened, flushing. He released Ara’s fingers, ears heating at the realization they were still entwined. He slid his hand to his curls. “Y-Yea…thanks.”

Winton could be the school counselor! You know, the person kids get sent to if they have mental, emotional, or other such problems, such as extreme anxiety or suicidal thoughts. Even if he isn’t the ‘official’ counselor, but more of the person kids go to who need any sort of help? Someone they know will be unbiased and loving.

Actually, I LOVE THESE IDEAS.
Ok, what if he’s an unofficial-official school counselor? A kind of social worker. Then he’d be in the position to talk to students, and we’ll just say that here he also has the ability to hold small meeting/ club style classes. (There would definitely be food.) Lilith puts up with him because it puts the school in good standing in the eyes if the community.
GASP.
Alwin just missed lunch! He’d go anywhere to eat something….

YALL!! I’m now imagining this scene with all our abused charries in the same setting with Winton holding an after school/after class session and they’re all kinda sharing that they’ve been abused and it’s like “wait you too?!” 😭
especially when my charries finally convince my BABY November to come with them….because he doesn’t even know he’s being abused….
And Paxton with him being so shy….
Plus Nyx and Lyn were also abused (tho it was a bit different. They were gaslighted, which is a type of abuse. And…well they’ve also been thru some stuff not from family, which was especially traumatic for Nyx…it had to do with Jocelyn’s stalker-ish Ex.)
and then just everyone else’s charries….
UGH….my heaaaart imagining all the love and comfort they’d all give each other as stories start to come out with everyone….or is that just me?

Winton Aetheling
Some people, when they see the evil of the world, hide their eyes and try to forget. Some grow hard and insensitive. But some see it, and without loving the wickedness, reach for those entangled. Those some love even when it hurts, reach even past hope, and don’t give up until the last breath is breathed. Thank the Lord for those some!
Winton is one of those “some”.
A tall man with dark blonde hair and gentle grey eyes, he has worked with many different kinds of kids through the years. As a counselor, he’s had to face the aches of those kids, and tried to right the mistakes of other counselors. He doesn’t always get it right either, but he knows the the One who does.
Yes, he’s sometimes considered a religious quack by other counselors because of his methods and agenda, but they can’t argue with the results.
As for himself, he just wants to reach these kids. He came from a broken background himself, and that past experience has solidified his drive. When someone talks with him, they can see the compassion in him. Love at work.

Almarrin
He smiled at the boy and lightly squeezed his shoulder. If only the brat would come for him from now on instead of messing with the youths and children. “My name’s Almarrin Woden. Welcome to my table. Have you two eaten?”
“No, but it’s alright.” The lass smiled as prettily as an Elf-maid.
“Sit here by the wall. I’ll be back.”
He slipped into the crowds of kids, then into the line where he managed to nab two trays and escape the notice of an irritated fay. The trip back was a bit more difficult; he had to duck behind a table once or twice.
Depositing the food before the kids, Almarrin pulled the hood of his jacket over his head and leaned against the wall by his table, letting the folds of green fabric hide his face.
“Lass, do you know anyone by the name Limmeth?”
She looked up and shook her head. “I’m afraid not. Why?”
“Just wondering.” He shook his head and leaned back against the wall.
