Felicity
“I guess I’m the dragon in my world.”
Felicity squinted at the boy. Usually dragons were a bit… spikier? She shrugged.
“Me and Lois-” she began.
“Lois and I.” Lois corrected.
“Me and Lois are from Amberothe Scape. It has six main islands and is ruled by our amazing, wonderful, all-knowing King Andrew.”
She said the last bit with a clearly mockingly reverent tone. Lois looked unimpressed.
Felicity continued. “We ride horses and use swords too, but we also have trains and guns and stuff. Oh and dragons, too. But only on Tazadak. Oh and spells!”
Felicity demonstrated by projecting a miniature 3d map of Aberothe into the air using her illusion spell. Five floating islands circled one smaller one in the center, clouds drifting between and below them. Lois pointed to one island that was more gray than the others, and had buildings crowding and climbing on top of each other, until the earth below them was invisible. White and brown smoke billowed out of countless chimneys and curled around Lois’ hand.
“There’s our home.” He said.
Felicity’s smile faltered, and she made the illusion disappear with a wave of her hand.

I thought that was a typo
Are you OKAY??
*blinks* Nope, no typo.
I am okay now!
Tuesday… not so much. XD
Long story short my four siblings and I were working for a neighbor, tearing out lath and plaster in their upstairs. One brother screwed a piece of wood over the only exit due to not wanting to get rubble in their downstairs (makes sense, right?). One sister proceeded to hit a bees next (a huge bees nest), there was a lot of screaming and desperate body slamming on the wood covering the exit. After 20 or so bee stings and a broken finger all six of us broke down the wood, ran outside, and proceeded to cry, scream, run around like maniacs, etc. (all the normal things you do in a situation like this). Aftermath… one sister got two bee stings, the other got zero, one brother got one, the other six, and I got six. 😑 Oh, and the neighbor dislocated his finger.
So all in all it was very fun and terrifying and I definitely don’t have PTSD and extreme terror of bees now.
Apparently, I am slightly more allergic to bees than everyone else so my stings got huge and red and itch like heck, but YOU KNOW, I’m just glad I only got six.
So there you have it folks.
Y e s.
DEATH
I’m glad those weren’t the things comin’ after us.
I rolled the log over and underneath was a tiny little stick and I was like, "That log had a child

Now I wish that a) I hadn’t retracted my charries, and b) they had gotten into a friend group.
Do you two think I could possibly introduce a character (in a less fizz-pow pizzaz way) to join your charries conversation? I want to compare our worlds! (I think you might find mine interesting, maybe maybe, especially the races and accents)
Also @whaley I understand now why everyone has to give warning before dropping off the face of the earth
September 22, 2023 at 3:43 pm #156956Well that’s a pretty epic story. Hope those stings heal soon!

@eurodia-vision
Quite alarming, I must say
But a wonderful story to illustrate this point:
And as everyone knows, it is a very silly thing to shut oneself in a wardrobe. “Never shut yourself in a wardrobe, stupid!” Lucy did not shut the door, for she remembered that one should never shut oneself in a wardrobe… And Edmund, entirely forgetting that one must never shut oneself in a wardrobe… etc. etc. *Lewis rolls over in his grave*
September 22, 2023 at 3:55 pm #156958Yeah you can join. You might encounter a few other characters eves-dropping outside. Apparently our conversations are pretty interesting XD

Ok let’s do this
Omniscient
A soft voice from behind Felicity’s shoulder said, “A wonderful world, I must say.” Calligripho joined the circle, and opened the tome he was holding. “Would you like to see mine? I’ve drawn a map, though I daresay it’s not as good as yours.”
September 22, 2023 at 6:48 pm #156979What does Calligripho look like? I’m imagining an old dude in a wizard hat, but I’m probably way off.

Calligripho: a skinny 12-year-old with thick glasses. He carries a fat book and a satchel of writing supplies around in case he feels like taking notes about anything. He writes at like 126 wpm – that’s his skill.
Alchemo’s the wizard. He is about 40 years old and he wears a black robe, but no hat. I like to twist archetypes around and backwards.
September 24, 2023 at 2:45 am #157021Ok I like that. Calligripho sounds cool.

“A wonderful world, I must say.”
Felicity jumped to her feet in surprise and reached for her hip where her knives were normally slung. The boy who had spoke did not seem to mind. He slipped past her, joined their little circle, and opened a book.
“Would you like to see mine? I’ve drawn a map, though I daresay it’s not as good as yours.”
“Uh yeah, sure.”
Lois put a hand on Felicity’s arm. He had instinctively stood up when she did. They both sat back down together.
“There’s also plenty of snacks, if you’d like.”

Calligripho
Calligripho turned to a page filled with a hand-drawn map. The left side, the western half, was a blank space marked “Aves Sea”. The right side, the eastern half, a body of land was marked as “Stonestia”, bordered in the far east by a mountain range. On the coast of the land, roughly in the middle of the map, was a city. Above its place on the map, letters proudly proclaimed that it was, “The Port of Stonestia”. It was to this city that Calligripho pointed.
“This is the capital, my home. It’s defining landmark is The Tower. It is so large that it serves as the palace, while at the same time holding a population near that of the rest of the city. They say it is so large that it touches the sky, but no one can ever see the top. It’s always hidden by clouds.” He shut his book.
“How about you, Marcel? Any interesting sights in your home?” Calligripho adjusted his thick glasses and looked up with timid expectancy.
September 24, 2023 at 1:44 pm #157026So uh… I was checking on this page, and I stumble across your story XD
I’m sure it was terrifying, but the way you described it was amazing
I have never been stung by a bee, and I never plan to
My brother actually worked with bees… but I already decided I never will
Do me a favor…. Tell Cress I meant it
