      Mr. Gregory

Slayer of armies. Grand sword master. General of the king’s army for three generations. Guardian of the true heir. Alan Gregory had survived and accomplished many unbelievable things in his lifetime and was now one of the most powerful men Amberothe had ever seen.

Yet here he was. Stuck on babysitting duty once again.

Gregory was not one to disobey orders from his king, but he was one to grumble.

He strode furiously down the halls, his hand resting on his hip where his sword normally was. Of course, there were no weapons allowed at the school, which only lowered his current mood.

This school needed some discipline. He had heard about a fight among the students only the day before. Unfortunately, Mr. Gregory had not yet arrived due to some issues with his dime teleporter. Those scientists on Excelsius acted like they knew what they were doing, but often he seriously doubted them. Now that he was here though, there would be no more fights. Or skipping class. Or untidy outfits. He would single handedly turn this place around.

Uh so there’s Mr. Gregory. I’m not really sure what he teaches yet cuz I don’t know what classes there are. ( @whalekeeper ?) I’m not really sure what to do with him rn, but if you seriously want a teacher to come yell at your charries, @keilah-h , he’d be delighted to. Heh.

        *Takes note*

Eavesdropper at window. Got it. I bet he could cause a lot of trouble if he wanted to 😋

…All 13?? I mean, Freedom has like 26-billion that we can never keep track of. But still. That’s a lot. What are they all gonna do? – I mean, since they’re faeries. Do they count as students?

        @loopylin

Honestly most of my friends reply to texts the way Seb does… soooooo 😂 (Perhaps I just hang with a bunch of zombies. Who knows?)

Okay, Lois and Felicity just give me so much of the warm fuzzies… 😂 They’re so lighthearted. And I love the Exile\Excel thing. Whatever they are in their world.

        Is Lois the true heir?

As for our magnificent Mr. Gregory… Next subject is English. I do not remember who was the teacher in that class, but it doesn’t really matter – we can switch the teachers around at will, I’m sure!

        Marcel

Marcel brightened a little, his wings floating up and slowly glowing pink. “Nah, I won’t tell anyone. There are snacks?”

The girl held up the pile of bags and cups in answer, and blew back a strand of her white hair. “Yep.”

The boy at her side slurped quietly.

        Marcel considered.

Then he slowly flipped his cloud upside down, floating over to better reach the pudding cup on the floor. “Are there more?”

All of them will probably be an underground “Resistance” trying to foil the bullies and, say, @loopylin ‘s new die-hard rule follower. They won’t be students (their ages range from The Cat, who’s like 60, to Chero, who’s like 5), but they will definitely interact with students and be part of the school dynamic (to an extent). Some of the less conspicuous might join classes, but that would be hard. I won’t say why; you’ll find out 😉

          #seb’sresponse XD

@loopy that’s great you love Chero! And I didn’t make that connection before. He he he…

Goooootcha. Those could be very useful, since most of the teachers don’t support the students in fights. And that way, there’s some context characters in the school, if that makes sense.

                    Tirion

Tirion trotted down the empty halls. A worthy mission coursing through his veins. He was almost there. They were so close…

“You’re in a weird mood, Tirion. When did snacks become worth being late over to you?”

Tirion cast a glance back at his friend who was moving at the pace of snail. Obviously not aware of the importance of this matter.

“Uh, since I woke up late and didn’t get to eat breakfast?”

Riya’s face scrunched up in annoyance, “Well, that’s your fault! Why’d you drag me into this?”

“‘Cause, why not?” Tirion replied with a grin.

With a blank stare and roll of her eyes, Riya moved past the boy and gently pushed the door to the cafeteria open.

“You’d better hope we don’t get in trouble for this.” She grumbled under her breath.

The two friends walked into the dimly lit, empty cafeteria.

On the other side of the room, three figures froze, staring at the newcomers.

One of the boys had paused mid-bite, mouth still searching for the spoonful of pudding held in front of him.

“Oh, um, hello there,” Tirion said with a small wave, “I’m Tirion, this is Riya, and we’ve come with the same intentions as you!”

“Food?” A pink-haired boy lounging on a cloud questioned.

                    “Uh, yes?”

The three kids glanced at each other and then at Tirion and Riya.

                    He felt intimidated.

Were they trying to make him feel intimidated?

He tried to look chill and all that jazz while he awaited their response.

I rolled the log over and underneath was a tiny little stick and I was like, "That log had a child

                      Marcel

Marcel swung open the cafeteria door, snacks stuffed in his pockets, and was just about to settle down next to the two kids when two more entered.

They looked older and a touch more experienced, but nevertheless, one of them, the boy, had an eager gleam in his eye.

They screeched to a halt, and the boy waved awkwardly. “Oh, um, hello there. I’m Tirion, this is Riya, and we’ve come with the same intentions as you!”

Marcel spooned a chocolate glob into his mouth. “Food?”

                      “Uh, yes?”

A moment passed, as they all considered the coincidence.

Marcel eyed the newcomers, face scrunching up until his cheeks bulged with pudding, then tossed the boy a bag of chips. “Okay then. Don’t get cheese powder on your shirt, or someone will rat on you.”

@everyone Um just a note about Mr. Gregory: he may be a grumpy jerk and a huge rule lover and have high expectations for everyone, but he is a good guy. He cares about justice and has respect for people who earn it. If he finds out about what all the bullies have been doing, trust me, they will not last long at this school.

                        @whalekeeper

I’m glad they make you happy. They aren’t usually this lighthearted, though.
No, Lois isn’t the true heir, but good guess. These two are actually just side characters in their story with their own b plot. This takes place after the story is over, and the “true heir” (his name is Andrew) is crowned king and is ruling back on their world.

English sounds good. He could also be a great PE teacher if we have that.

                        Felicity

The five kids sat around a table piled high with snacks, cheerful voices echoing in the empty lunchroom. Felicity was sitting on the table with her bare feet propped up on the bench next to Lois. She popped some goldfish into her mouth and tilted her head to the three strangers. After swallowing, she asked,

“So, what worlds are you guys from? What grades are you in?”

How do I find out where Lois and Felicity’s rooms are? I kinda want them to meet their roommates. Later, though. Not right now.

                          @loopylin ok cool!

                          Hunter

His siblings followed close behind. After the Paxton dilemma, they’d kind of wandered aimlessly. Had classes already started? There weren’t many clocks on the wall nor windows to discern the sun in this hallway.

A man’s voice brought the group to a startled stop. “Hey!”

Hunter whipped around, fangs bared, but stopped when he saw it was only one of the teachers. “Sorry, sir….what class is going on right now? My brothers and sister and I are kind of…well….lost.”

Where'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.

@loopylin gotcha. This could make for an awkward conversation with Alchemo, my mentor-wizard guy who helps out the kids, but is a bit less heavy-handed, if they ever meet in a battle like the one that happened yesterday.

Speaking of which, @whalekeeper , @keilah-h , @eurodia-vision , should we name the battle? (Maybe @godlyfantasy12 should get at least some say in it since it was basically her battle between her charries) I was thinking something like “Battle of the Electives” (temporally accurate), or “Battle of the Wings” (action-accurate), but you guys can probably come up with better names.

                            Anyway, RP for y’all.

                            Chero

Bother, bother, bother. No action. Talking with The Cat was better than this. Chero lolled on top of the vending machine, writhing in bored agony. He couldn’t restrain himself. “Boooooor-riiiing!” he yelled.

The echo made his voice seem like it came from everywhere, everywhere at once. Marvelous! No one saw him, but all heard him. All chatter stopped, and the peckish pillagers froze guiltily.

Chero belted out again. “When is something going to happen?” This was fun! His tiny voice made large, scaring humans! What humans were there, anyway. Ha-ha! Wonderful!

As the echos died away, a squeaking noise came from behind the counter. A loose wheel, like on a cleaning cart. Oh no…

The door to the kitchen behind the counter swung open, and out shuffled the hunched old cleaning lady. What? How did she get here? Impossible! She looked up, saw the snack-sneakers, and screeched in dismay, anger, and panic. Oh right, she was good at screeching. Forgot about that one.

“Filthy children! Get out of here! Thieves!” Her high-pitched, ancient voice grated like fingernails scratching and breaking on chalkboard. She noticed that they were eating, and immediately went berserk. “Is that pudding?!? I just cleaned that! Achk! Chip dust! Out, foul speck! Get out, get out!!”

Chero resumed his cozy perch, waiting to see what would happen next. Oh, this was bliss, pure bliss, yes yes!

                            *  *  *

I hope this doesn’t become a habit: introducing a new charrie every RP. We could be here until Easter.

Profile: Cleaning Lady: Not necessarily evil, just takes her job very seriously. Once tried to stop the advance of the band of 13 because the carpets had just been cleaned and the 13 had horse muck on their shoes. It almost worked, but not enough, and she’s gotten grouchier. If that’s possible. How to get on her good side: help her clean. How to get on her bad side: make things dirty right after she cleaned them. Disclaimer: not a personification of anyone in real life (unlike some characters I made). All the cleaning ladies I know are very nice.

                              Felicity

“Filthy children! Get out of here! Thieves!” A scratchy high pitched voice cried out.

“Is that pudding?!? I just cleaned that! Achk! Chip dust! Out, foul speck! Get out, get out!!”

An old woman with leathery skin and hair as white as Felicity’s advanced on them from across the room. She brandished a mop with both hands and looked ready to hit someone over the head with it.

“And this is where we run.” Lois muttered.

Felicity stood up and the drawing on her hand began to glow. She then pictured what she wanted to happen, and it did.

Several small, furry things darted out from under one of the lunch tables. They went straight for the cleaning lady, circling her, their long pink tails trailing behind.

“Rats!! In my lunchroom?! Out! Get out!” The old woman repeatedly hit her mop on the floor around her, trying in vain to hit one of the pests.

Felicity spun around to the others and shouted “Now! Let’s go!”

She scooped up as many snacks off the table as she could with both arms and then ran out of lunchroom, leaving behind a trail of goldfish.

(Felicity was using illusion magic btw. The rats aren’t real. They’ll disappear after Felicity gets far enough away.)
