      @loopylin

      They sound so cute 😛

      @calyhuge

      You can actually write characters in different RPs at the same time, since they are alternate universes and don’t necessarily have to connect. So you could keep Kate and Brian here, and still use them in a different RP too, if you wanted 🙂 I might be interested.

        Lois

        Please?”

        “No, Felicity. I’m not going to give you a high level illusion spell just so you can skip class again.”

        Felicity was leaning against the wall next to Lois as he rifled through his locker. She put on her best pouty face, which still wasn’t very good.

        “Aww but it’s history. Remembering all those boring names and dates is torture.”

        Lois rolled his eyes and slammed the locker door shut.

        “Ok, fair. I don’t like it either. But I haven’t had my coffee today, and you know that kind of stuff is draining.”

        Felicity grumbled her whole way to class. They both found seats at the back of the classroom and sat down.

        The lesson began. The teacher’s monotone recitation floated right over Lois’ head. He was bored within seconds. He clicked open a pen to keep from falling asleep and began doodling on the back of his already ink-covered left hand.

        After a couple minutes of doodling, he glanced over at Felicity. She noticed him looking and dramatically pretended to nod off, and then jolt awake, then start to nod off again. Lois snorted back laughter. Felicity grinned at him, her eyes sparkling. She then glanced back and forth from his face to the pen in his hand a few times and wiggled her eyebrows at him.

        He looked at her with an amused expression and mouthed, “Fine.”

        Felicity scooted toward him and held out her hand. Lois held her hand and began to ink a design on the back. It looked like a prism, with split beams of light going out from it. The beams turned into wavy lines at the ends and formed swirls that spread out all over. Once he was done, Lois clicked the pen closed and tapped the design with his finger. As he did, the black lines glowed gold and he suddenly felt heavy with exhaustion.

        Felicity flexed her fingers and grinned. Her eyes glowed the same color as the spell on her hand. She stood up, grabbed Lois’ hand, and they both ran out of the classroom together.

        As they ran, Lois glanced back over his shoulder, and saw himself and Felicity in still their seats, studiously taking notes. The image flickered slightly.

        “Yes! No more history!” Felicity said. She was walking backwards down the hallway facing Lois with a lopsided smile on her face.

        “So what do you want to do? Raid the cafeteria? Prank the principal? Go off campus?”

        Lois pushed his glasses up and smiled back at her. Dark circles were starting to show under his eyes.

        “Sure. Whatever you want. But first things first: let’s go find me a cup of coffee.”

        Idk what all the other characters are doing, but maybe the can run into someone in the hall? Also who are these two rooming with? (Obviously different rooms for boys and girls)

          Sorry that rp was a lot longer than I intended. (Also, if what happened wasn’t clear, I apologize. I have not written these characters or their magic abilities very much.)

            Whoops that was Math class your charries just skipped. As I recall (correct me if I’m wrong), History is the second to last class of the day.

              @loopylin your RP did make sense –  probably more than mine will

              @whalekeeper
              Ok, that would work. But I started making such a good RP for them getting kicked out that I’m going to do it anyway but just bring them back. He he he

              Katonia

              A whisper drew my attention to the door. Calligripho was there, gesticulating wildly. Uh oh…

              Calligripho was mouthing something. I tried to decipher his lip movements. He kept saying Get over here! Both of you! and beyond that I was clueless. But I got the hint. I raised my hand.

              “Yes, what is it?” the teacher asked.

              “Excuse me, but Brian and I have to leave. Something, uh…” I looked at Calligripho. “Something just came up. May we be excused?”

              “Yes, but be quick about it.” The teacher resumed the lecture.

              As we made our way into the hall, Brian gave me a questioning look. “It’s not up to me!” I protested.

              Calligripho and Alchemo were waiting for us. Men in black suits and sunglasses were all around us. What in the world? Alchemo looked pained. This wasn’t good. “Alchemo, what’s going on? What’s happening?”

              He cleared his throat nervously. “Well, the Headmistress has notified the local authorities of my… um… activities earlier this morning.”

              “Alchemo, what did you do?”

              “Well, I… how should I say this… influenced a decision of hers using the grant that your father gave this school, and apparently, that violates the local law. So, these, lovely men, have agreed to escort us from the premises.”

              “You mean we’re being kicked out?!”

              “In a manner of speaking, yes.”

              Brian butted in, shouting at the men in black surrounding us. “This is unacceptable! I challenge all of you to meet my blade!”

              “I’m sorry kid,” one said, “but that’s not an option.” He pulled out a device, aimed it at Brian, and pulled the trigger. Two little wires shot out, and delivered a short *zap*. Brian collapsed. [It’s a taser gun, so ya’ll relax]

              “What did you do to him?!” I yelled. I lunged, but Alchemo and Calligripho held me back.

              “Kate, we should go. We’ll talk outside,” Alchemo reassured me. Some reassurance. Brian groaned, stirred, and struggled to his feet.

              “Longest five seconds of my life,” he muttered. He glared at the impassive men.

              Ten minutes later, we were on the doorstep of the school. I looked to our mentor for assistance. “What do we do now? Do we go home?”

              Alchemo, glancing over both his shoulders, whispered, “No. I mean yes. Well, not exactly. We’ll just have to be undercover. I have some special rocks, just for this purpose, but for safety’s sake, today you and Brian will come home to Stonestia. I’ll brief you on how this will work when we’re there. Now, are you ready to travel?”

              He withdrew from his cloak the object I had least expected to see. The Golden Key. I gasped. “We use that? Are you sure? What about the disturbances? What about if it takes us somewhere we don’t want to go? Remember, it takes us to the place we’re supposed to be, not the place we want.”

              Alchemo thought for a moment. “Hmm. You’re right. There is a safer way…” He put away the key and instead got another object. It was a small metal and blueglass disk, which he placed on the ground, and commanded, “Aperta, ostium in domum suam!”

              “Sometimes only the old languages work for these silly rust-buckets,” he commented, as the air above the disk contorted, warped, and finally broke, revealing the door to the Tower in Stonestia. The edges of the dimension tunnel spun with blue needles of light. “Come now, we have an audience with the King. Then we shall discuss what to do next.”

              One by one, we filed through the gateway to home, until only Alchemo was left behind. “This next part is tricky,” he explained. He followed us through, then darted his hand back to the school-side, snatched up the disk, and drew his hand back just fast enough to avoid being severed by the dimension rift. “Whew! Now, to see to your father,” he said.

                    Also, I understand your confusion. Magic does weird things to the minds of lesser beings such as yourself (jk jk)

                      @whalekeeper @freedomwriter76 @godlyfantasy12 @smiley @loopylin

                      Annnnnd, since Alchemo, Brianaro, Calligripho, and Katonia all left, someone needs to take care of Pax. And so, I give you The Cat. She’s scratchy, but also soft and fuzzy. It just depends on who you are. Also, she isn’t the cat, she’s The Cat. Also, magic might not work on her. (sorry @loopy, but don’t worry – she’s not talking). I’m taking this as an opportunity to develop her character more (I haven’t at all so far, so this could get spicy). You have been warned.

                      @godlyfantasy, The Cat is a friend, not a foe. Hmm… maybe “friend” is too strong a word. Let’s try “ally” or “official therapeutic animal” for now.

                      The Cat

                      Head held high, bushy tail switching at the end, The Cat strolled down the hall, eyeing all with confidence and superiority. If one word could describe her, it would be POSH with a capital ‘p’. Her four dainty paws made no noise, her breathing was mute, she gave no sound despite her taking those of all around her in her swiveling, hunting ears. No mouse (and there were mice) in arrow-shot of the school went undetected, unnoticed, or unfearful. And none would escape, come nightfall. The Cat licked her prim lips at the thought, and smiled through her silky whiskers.

                      But that would have to wait, for the wizard had put her on a mission only she could handle. Clumsy human hands and feet would have no use here, but a feline cunning and cuteness combined would be a potent mix that no clumsy human hands or feet could stop. The Cat’s thoughts were broken as one of the aforementioned clumsy human feet almost flattened her. Assuming it was worthy of being called human. The idiot, a four-eyed boy covered in inky splendor, obviously thinking he was something special, barring down the hall, racing a giggling girl who herself was behaving in a most unladylike manner. They acted like no one was watching. The perpetrators were rewarded for their impudence with a hiss and a nip, the first of which surprised them; the second of which sent them running again. The Cat cared not what they thought. They were unimportant to her purpose.

                      Ah, her purpose. The reason she was here. It was a simple matter, yet complicated in execution. Yet still simple enough for The Cat. Yet too complicated for a human. Yet, yet, yet. What an interesting word. Three letters that change the course of a sentence, a word varied in uses, yet becoming obsolete in favour of the uncouth ‘but’. How humans loved to change! And to change a human for the better, that was her mission. The boy whose name meant “Peace” needed a strong, gentle dose of peace himself.

                      Up the stairs The Cat sedately climbed, drawing looks, and treating them in kind. Down a hall of doors The Cat did wind, purring softly all the lengthy time, composing epic poetry in mind. In iambic pentameter, no less. But no matter. She had arrived.

                      Softly, The Cat slipped through the gap in the door, and made her way through the crowd of staring boys. The smallest, the child called “Peace”, watched with wide eyes. Wending her way to him, The Cat rubbed her back against his frail legs, purring contentedly. Her only noise permeated the room, relaxing and soothing, even healing. The Cat gave the gift that only a cat can give, and gave it willingly. Perhaps there was some dignity here after all.

                        Translation:

                        four eyes => a person with glasses

                        wend => wind

                        Pax means “Peace” in Latin

                        Ahh, that felt good. My high diction needed some practice. I’m keeping this RP, because it’s my best high diction yet. Let’s see how I improve later!

                            @loopylin I’m glad you like her! The Cat is going to have some curious magical characteristics, I think. I’m considering magical immunity. Which would be an op power, especially in this school.

                            @everyone-else

                            The Cat’s sad backstory (so far, it’s a WIP): She was a human, maybe a powerful wizard, cursed by the evil Queen Anaibia into a cat, and then further cursed to be impervious to magic so that she can never have the curse lifted. That was decades ago, and since then The Cat gradually absorbed a catlike personality, which melded with her human personality, until she became the thing she is today. Somewhere along the way, she met Nivlaco, a giant who left his clan to escape the evil culture. The two wandered for years, outcasts, until they were recruited by Alchemo (he does seem to pop up everywhere, doesn’t he) to help defeat Queen Anaibia. We’ll see how she handles the school. And how the headmistress handles her.
