This is another reason RPs are so cool, cuz this is actually showing me some of Paxton I didn’t know about (like when he bit Alec…I was honest to goodness surprised. I’m not kidding when I say my characters take over sometimes)

I was surprised about the biting. And the sudden elation, although I knew he would be at least somewhat happy.
My characters do that too. Especially Seb and Marc, which is why I write them so much. I’ll be like, “Ummmm… what are you guys gonna do?” and they’ll be like, “HOLD MY PHONE WHILE I DO SOMETHING…uh… STOOPID”

also @godlyfantasy your description seemed like a good fit for the situation, and I think it’s well within the bounds of a young adult novel. I mean, what’s a few cuts and bruises, right? Builds character. But I understand that younger readers may not like the welts and bumps very much, so yeah. I think the content warning was sufficient to the point that if anyone was scarred, it was kinda their own fault. :thumbs-up: (deja-vu: I feel like I sent a message like this before but I can’t put a finger on it. Probably me just expressing my insanity)

“Kate, calm down, it’s just Calligripho. He’s acting as Alchemo’s assistant for now.”
“I thought he was writing the book about us defeating Queen Anaibia!” [the main story, in case any of y’all were wondering]
“Oh, he finished that the day a couple hours after he started. You’re forgetting how fast he writes.” Brian was making his way to his locker where his books were stowed, with me in tow.
I tried to catch up. “Brian, wait up! Stop walking so fast!”
“Alright, alright.” He reached his locker and rummaged around. “Yeesh, did you sleep at all last night?”
I rolled my eyes. True, I didn’t get a lot of sleep, but at least I slept some. As far as I knew, Brian had slept even less. He probably stayed up late brooding and talking to himself. “Sure I slept. How about you? I suppose you stayed up late brooding and talking to yourself.”
It was Brian’s turn to roll his eyes. “Lay off, will you? I turned in at six o’clock, and got up at five. Good enough for you?”
Yeah, right. Like I was going to believe that. I changed the subject. “What are you looking for, anyway?”
“I’m looking for my schedule. I can’t remember what class is next.” I started to tell him Math was next. “Hold on a second, Kate.”
Brian turned and tapped a boy to his left on the shoulder. The boy was clad in dark clothing, and when he turned, I detected a hint of nervous apprehension in his rain-blue eyes. Brian asked, “Hey, do you know which class is next?”
I looked on with mild amusement to see what would happen.

So much for trial by fire. more like trial by penlight. Anyway, @smiles, Brianaro is not going to be annoyed, he’s just going to laugh it off and be a good sport. Katonia, however… she’s annoyed very easily. Have fun!

Apparently not. Or at least any that we recognize. I think it’s just yesterday, today, tomorrow, and the great unknown.

Also, I assume that there is no track of overall time whatsoever, so like the dance is in days, not weeks

I know, I was thinking maybe have break days or something! At least some holidays where we could explore the city. I know Marcel keeps mentioning this, and we’re not technically supposed to leave the school, but I’m really itching to explore the surroundings
…That I don’t know.
If you’ve been keeping track, you may notice that we’re writing mostly boys. We have girl characters, they’re just… gone. Poof. I think once they return, the dance drama will start again.
I am with you tho, that it needs to happen.

I did notice the lack of females. That made it a bit weird, since all the girls were writing boys and I was writing the only girl at the time. Go figure.
I had the exact same thought.
Might just start up Thorn again – although… I do believe I shall change her name – to get the girls back in. I’ll take your comment as a hint to do so XD
