Did someone ask for therapy? I’ve heard wonders about music therapy.
Calligripho
“Calligripho, I think it might be a good idea if you stuck with Prince Brianaro and Princess Katonia to monitor their activities. At least, until Violetta comes.”
Calligripho stopped scribbling for a second to look up in confusion. “I’m sorry, what was that, Master Alchemo? Who’s Violetta?”
“Oh, she’s just a former palace servant. She’s — whoa there –” Alchemo stuck his arm out, barely keeping a preoccupied Calligripho from walking straight into a hall brawl. “Excuse me… what is going on here?”
The group of young boys stopped socking each other and turned around with guilty looks. All but one of them, who looked a bit smug. A bit too smug for his own good, Calligripho thought. “You boys just can’t seem to keep out of trouble, can you? And it always seems to center on this poor child. It’s all right, Paxton,” he said in a soothing voice, squatting down next to the trembling kid. “I’m here to help.”
He turned to Calligripho and his tone got serious. “Use this on them if they get any bright ideas.” He tossed the scribe a solid black stone.
Turning back to Paxton, he resumed his calming tone. “Paxton, I have something for you.” Alchemo reached in his robe and withdrew a diamond disk. “This is what we in Stonestia call a Float-on-Top. It repels objects, and does not touch them. So if I put it in my palm, like so–” The disk floated an inch away from Alchemo’s palm, rotating slowly, and made a sound like miniature crystalline bells. “And if I try to grab it, say, to take it away from you, then–” He tried to grab it, but the float-on-top flew from his hands like a bar of wet soap. It dropped, but stopped just before hitting the ground, and spun slowly, faint chimes coming from it.
“I want you to have this, Paxton,” Alchemo continued, “because I think you will enjoy it. It is nearly indestructible, but if it breaks, it will build itself back together.” Alchemo straightened. “If you ever need help, Paxton, then call for help, and I’m sure that somehow, in some form, help will come. Farewell, and may the Most High be with you.”
Alchemo gestured to Calligripho. “Come, Calligripho. I think Paxton’s friends have things under control.”
Paxton stared at the gravity-defying object levitating on his palm, giving off whispers of joyful notes with wide eyes. And Alchemo and Calligripho left to attend to other matters.

@godlyfantasy I think I created something that Pax’s brothers won’t be able to steal this time. Watching them try could get funny.
Wait wait wait – could Paxton attach the stone to Hope? So his brothers can’t steal her anymore?

I don’t think that will work given the physics. The stone repels all objects, so it would repel Hope and anything used to attach it to Hope. But I’m sure, that if asked, Alchemo could come up with something for what you guys are thinking. I’m just picturing a big bully being like “Cool new toy, flit” *tries to take it* “What the! It’s bewitched!”

Bucky
Bucky crouched down beside Steve as the two…interesting kids left, pulling a rolled bandage from Steve’s backpack. “Here, use this for your nose…tilt your head down a little.”
Steve silently obeyed.
Alec laughed. “What, can’t take a little beating, huh, Steve!?”
Alec suddenly gasped, kicked backwards.
Tony stood over him, fists clenched. “Leave, Alec…now.”
Wow, Bucky had never seen Tony so mad.
Alec wiped blood from his cheek that had come from Bucky’s several punches, and glared at Tony, Steve, and Bucky. “My father will hear about this…you know he will. You’ll regret fighting me.”
With that, he rushed off.
Erich whistled. “Wow…what a baby.”

Paxton
Paxton stated at this new, curious object for a moment in wonder, before his attention was drawing back to the fight in front of him. (So uhh due to how the stone works…where can Pax put it? XD)
He quickly grabbed his backpack, hugging it and shuffling back against the wall as the older boys took care of the bully.
Paxton face was still hot from the flames the boy had called from his fingers. Paxton touched his cheek, whimpering at the thought.
He hadn’t even done anything…
He’d been trying to follow the rules…why did everyone want to mess with him?
Tears rolled down his cheeks and his shoulders heaved as he cried, pulling his knees up to his chest.
Why did everyone hate him?
“Paxton…ah kid…” Erich bent down next to him. Paxton looked up, clutching his backpack tighter, refusing to let anyone take it from him again. “You just can’t catch a break can you…” Erich’s eyes were full of sympathy…softness.
Well…maybe not everyone hated him…

Riker
Riker went over to Paxton, also crouching down, but not so close that Paxton felt cornered. “Hey…you’re okay now. No one here will hurt you…they’re all friends of mine, I promise, you’re safe here.”
Erich nodded and smiled gently. “He’s right, you know…we won’t hurt you. We’re here for you, kid, no matter what…ok?”
(soooo, about Alec…he’s definitely going to be calling his Father, and Pierce is probably rich/influential…so he may talk to Lilith…😅)

Paxton
Paxton shied away, shaking his head.
He didn’t understand…why…why did they care so much about him? Why did they keep saving him? Helping him?
All he did was get them hurt…get them in trouble…
He was bad…worthless…
And…
So tired…
Tired of the fighting…of the hurting…
Tired of living in fear every waking moment of his life…unable to…to…cry out for help.
And even if he did…would anyone hear him?
“Paxton…?” Riker whispered. The little boy looked up into his bright eyes, and, for the first time, saw something in them that he’d only ever seen in the deep recesses of his mind…
In the corners of his dreams…hidden beneath all the rubble of life and reality…
Something he only ever saw in the loving companion now safely tucked away in his pack…her brown eyes and coarse fur never ceasing to give him comfort.
Paxton saw…hope.
Sucking in a shaky breath, Paxton let out a small sob, reaching out for Riker. He wrapped his arms around him, squeezing him tight, just as he did with his stuffed friend whenever he needed comfort.
He nuzzled into Riker’s shoulder, crying.
“N-need…h-elp…”

Paxton suddenly hugged Riker tight, and he sobbed into Riker’s shoulder, sobbing. “N-need…h-elp…”
“Oh, Pax…” Riker whispered, feeling his own tears threaten.
He wrapped his arms around Paxton, holding him close but not tight, knowing Paxton was hurt. “…Of course I’ll help you…I promise you, I will do everything I can to help you…I promise you. It’s going to be okay, I promise…with everything I have, I promise you that it’ll be ok. I’ll keep you safe…I’ll get you help and help you myself, I promise.”
Erich suddenly stepped away, pulling out his phone. “…I think we may need all hands on deck…there’s a kid I talked to and got the number of yesterday, and I think he’d be more than willing to help us out.”
Riker gently pried Paxton’s hands away, just a little, and he wiped tears from Paxton’s eyes. “Don’t worry, Pax…I’ve got you…”
(ughhh, I love him so much 🥹😍😍)
