Okay but seriously, also, why hasn’t anyone contacted official people about Pax’s situation? I mean, it’s literally ChiLd AbUsE. I know it’s just an AU and you’re not really supposed to step out of the scene – but ya know.

“Cool. Do you have an inside source in the paper itself? Someone I could talk to?” He asked, in a confidential tone.
An awesome thought had occurred to him. What if the newspaper needed comic strips?

Color returned to Calvin’s cheeks, as he grinned at the dim glow of the screen. He tapped a button. “Hi, Mum.”
“Is that a smile I hear?”
“Yes’m,” Cal laughed.
“What’s up, pumpkin? Noc’s not here right now, but he wanted me to ask how his children are doing.” She sounded tired, but hopeful.
“We’re fine. I’m in Philosophy right now.”
“Oh, did I interrupt you brooding on some deep life-defining concept?”
“No. Although my professor didn’t like being interrupted by my ring tone. Why did you call?” Cal fingered the hem of his sweater, staring at the gray wall on the other side of the hall.
He could picture what his mother was doing now. Probably leaning against a kitchen counter, her uncontrollable hair in a loose chocolate bun, with a warm mug of mocha cradled against her belly.
He had seen her do that more and more often, in the evenings, before leaving for the school…
“I thought I would drive over there with some sweets and some extra blankets,” she said quietly. “You know, to celebrate your first day.”
“We just got here, though, remember?”
“Yes, but us parents are encouraged to visit. Besides, Noc wants the triplets to come along, and get an idea of boarding school life.”
The triplets. Cal would like to see them, after all the unfamiliar sights that day. But he shuffled his foot, thinking. “Mum, maybe you should come tomorrow… I want to hug you, yes, but… I want us to get settled first.”
“If that’s what you think, I’ll wait. But I will come tomorrow, kiddo.”
Cal blinked, gripping the phone tighter. “Mum!”
“Yeah?”
How was he going to explain Marcel?
“I’m trying to be a great adoptive brother and all that,” he whispered, “But when he’s rebellious, how will I stop him?”
His mother said nothing. Then Cal could hear her smile. “He just has to realize you’re the only brother he has.”
“…Love you, Mum.”
“Love you, Cal.”

Wellā¦Lilith has major ties in high places since this is a modern AU.
in the actual series itās more closed off then that obviously since theyāre their own race.
since this is a bit more modern world, itās kinda like she has ties into the political world and such.
Riven does as well, however most donāt even know Riven is abusive except for Novemberās close friends because heās more verbal/mentally abusive. He can be physically but not really much, so people heās around wouldnāt even know.
Lilith however, even if they know, sheās got such ties, itās kinda like what happens in the real world (sadly these things actually happenā¦people with ties to the police, political world, who have money, etc. they get away with this stuff.)

But why would AU Lilith keep Pax if she basically doesn’t care about him or think he could be powerful? I’d suspect she keeps him because otherwise her reputation is marred, but ya know…
Cuz if she wants to load him onto someone, Cal’s parents would gladly take him in… šā¤ Like. Seriously.Ā If he tells them, they’ll fight for custody and\or children’s rights.

And he doubted his mother would be increasinglyā¦fond of Marcelās habits of candy-stuffing. Nor his attitude.
And his brothersā¦
He shuddered, pulling into himself slightly. Shook his head.
āHuhā¦well, that stinksā¦ā (also I donāt think Marcel knows Paxton is the headmistressā son. Maybe he finds out later after he and Pax separate?)
Pax nodded slowly and then paused. He thought for a moment, remembering a few days back.
Arabella had decided to sit beside himā¦to check in with himā¦make sure he was alright.
Sheād started talking about her electivesā¦
Wasn’t she taking newspaper as an elective?
Paxton smiled, turning to Marcel. He jumped excitedly on his stool. Marcel raised a brow.

He waved his hands, not sure of how to tell the boy his thoughts. He paused, biting his bottom lip.
āF-friendā¦A-Araā¦elective is, elective is, n-news-p-paper,ā Paxton fiddled with his vest, tongue rubbing against his teeth as he spoke.

so basically Lilith is bitterā¦
in the normal series her keeping him is explained withā¦wellā¦ heāsĀ needed.
BUT in this AU I think it relates to the reason why other abusers keep their kids.
Itās just twisted. Sometimes itās cuz their bitter and such.
Lilith is basically the definition of bitterness. Her backstory in this one is a bit different from the one in the normal series.
The brothers are basically the same tho. Aramis has been through a lot (which doesnāt justify him at all) but heās also bitter, and he takes out his anger on Pax. He hates him because Paxton represents his younger self, and the bitterness he feels, and he takes on his motherās views of Paxton being Lesser then them (as does Edrich)
Edrich has anger issues. Major. Heās like the commander of the siblings. And he fully takes on his mothers feelings of prejudice and the Icari prejudice/pride, and those lesser than him or lesser beings, (which is almost everyone.) but especially pax.
Sorren is the odd one out. Heās passive. Heās the youngest of the original siblings, and his life hasnāt been as traumatic. He remembers the good times with his brothers and loves them deeply. He isnāt embittered like Aramis, or filled with the pride/prejudices like Edrich. He loves his mother, and is a bit more sheltered.
He kinda just goes along with what they do even though he knows itās wrong.
But recently heās been getting a bit more outside the box because as heās gotten older heās seen more of how wrong it is, and he just doesnāt understand the familyās dislike of Paxton. He actually likes the kid (though he canāt say that out loud because heās afraid of what his family will do/think) so he helps the kid sometimes.
Heās the only one in the family who really helps Paxton.

#ProtectSebThe plan in the AU in the future is, just like in the series, eventually Arabella and her family to gain custody of Paxton, though it takes a lot of work.
Araās family has ties as well, though theyāre not as tied in as Lilith because sheās also tied into some darker networks.
But Ara canāt do anything without proof, and especially since Lilith has connections.
Just like she canāt do anything about Riven and November. (Especially because November doesnāt even know heās being abused. He thinks itās normal)
and Paxton wonāt say anything because heās too scared

Marcel grinned, and steadied Pax’s stool, which had almost wobbled over in the little kid’s eureka moment. “Nice. You have all the connections. You’d make a natural bartender.”
At the kid’s confused expression, Marcel let out a squeaky laugh.
Pax obviously still didn’t understand, but he giggled along.
It would be funny to draw the scrawny blond as a mysterious benefactor in a black trench coat and fedora, silently contemplating the woes of the world over a grape juice-box.
Marcel should seriously consider the character potential. It was his duty as an artist.

About 5′ tall, he’s like 13. Do they wear school uniforms? if not he’s just got a olive colored tunic and leather sandals. he got a small flask of purple glowy liquid on a necklace, half full. he is very energetic and happy person but has some health problems so sometimes he’s tired. In my world, he’s been cast in a sort of ‘in between world’ because he has a disease that made him loose most of his feathers, and they didn’t want it to spread. So… @godlyfantasy12 you decide how the disease interacts with your characters, we can just say they are another species and immune. he’s a real scrawny looking kid because of it lol. His wings are pretty small and because he doesn’t have a lot of feathers they are just under his tunic, but you could probobly tell by looking there was something on his back. he has really light sandy almost grey hair.
Merrissa
Merrisa also has a small flask hanging from her neck, but hers is empty. She has long messy brown hair, it’s quite matted too. She doesn’t look like she takes good care of herself, and is generally indifferent. Except for when it comes to flax, she wouldn’t care too much about other people hurting around her. She doesn’t know hardly anything about herself, so conversations are um… interesting. She’s about 5’3″. I’ll say she’s 14 but she wouldn’t know if you asked her.
Whaley you said you and keilah had some charries a girl could room with, who were they? I’ll have Merrisa join them.
And is there a group for flax perhaps to room with?
