“I’m the best hitter on the team,” Falon said, clearly proud of her accomplishment. They turned the corner to the door of the gym. “I can’t wait to see your talents in action.” She smiled cleverly.
Ev grinned. He pushed open the door and let Falon walk through first. “Woah,” she said, looking around.
Ev stood beside her and put his hands on his hips. “Yep.” Tons of students bustled through the gym, walking in and out of the locker rooms and chatting in small groups. He readjusted the strap of his bag. “I’m going to go change real quick.” Ev said, nodding towards the boys’ locker rooms.
Falon nodded. “I should too.”
The two parted ways and Ev went into the locker room. He quickly changed, his mind on the dance. Falon was pretty cool, and he was honestly looking forward to taking her to the dance. As he exited the locker room, he noticed Falon already done and waiting by herself.
Ev walked up beside her, waiting for class to begin. “Looks like we have a lot of competition,” he said with a chuckle.

“Only sort of,” The only kids I was nervous about were Bucky, Sam, and Steve. Natasha looked even younger than me which was creepy, and sort of cool. And then Steve looked to be the same age as me, which was just creepy.
But what was mostly on my mind was “Peirce,” why would that be Steve’s last name?
“Are you still there?” Ev waved his hand in front of my face.
“Sorry, just looking at everyone, it looks like we’re playing dodge ball. Are you very good at it?”

“I think so,” Ev said with a shrug. “I’m good at throwing the balls but dodging,” he chuckled. “I guess it depends on how good the people who are chucking the balls at me are. Are you good at it?”

I thought about the question, truthfully I had never actually played. I mean I’ve dodged grenades and other dangerous stuff, but I’ve never actually played the game.
“I’m decent,” I tried to sound confident but I also didn’t want my failure to be thrown back in my face. I looked over at the pile of foam balls. the teacher wasn’t here yet, but I was bored of waiting.
I grabbed one of the balls and through at him playfully.
It hit him on the arm, “Wow, you really aren’t good at dodging

Falon picked up one of the foam balls and threw one at Ev. He stepped back and his jaw dropped, pretending to be greatly offended. He bent down and grabbed one as well. He tossed in around in his hands, then shrugged and slowly walked away, keeping an eye on Falon from the corner of his eye.
She seemed a little confused at first, but Ev turned on his heel and threw it at her. She giggled and turned to avoid it, but it hit her in the shoulder. Ev chuckled as she threw another one back at him. “You know, you’ve got a strong throw,” he said, rubbing his arm where the ball had hit him.

Pax seems like a kid who would have chromesthesia. I mean, I have grapheme-color synesthesia, and various other tendencies of synesthetes, so I can definitely vouch for the condition.
WAIT… I guess that means I’m neurodivergent! I literally just realized, through reading an article, synesthesia falls under that umbrella… 😳😂😂 You discover something new every day…
Although, obviously, you don’t want to go overboard with the whole neurodivergent thing. If Pax has a bunch of things already, you don’t want to dump more on him.
But if he’s an artist, synesthesia is honestly an amazing blessing. It would be really cool if he had it. I can again vouch for that… Seb does, I believe.

“Thanks,” I said with a laugh,
Ev leaned down and grabbed another one, but this time I managed to dodge it. I bent down to grab another one, but Ev dodged it also.
From there it became almost a snowball fight, between me and him. Ev threw another one at me, but it was harder than his other ones. I looked at my shoulder where I had been hit,

My veins started to go red and my skin started to crack and the light from the fire started to shine through.
(In case you didn’t know Falon has fire powers that sometimes show, but she tries to hide it)
I looked at Ev who had a confused look.
“I think I need to take a break,” I gestured to the benches along the walls. I took a seat as Ev walked over to me, I would probably have to explain.
Luckily none of the other kids noticed, but Ev definitely did.

-Thorne@whalekeeper she doesn’t really see it as anything different or weird tho. It’s totally normal/natural for her cus she’s had it her whole life. In fact I’m not sure but she may not even realize everyone else doesn’t have it XD

Ev took a seat beside Falon. He gave her a small smile. “So, you’re special like some of the other kids at this school.”
In response to her offended expression, Ev shook his head. “No, I don’t mean it in that way. I mean that you’ve got a special… talent. You know what I mean? It’s nothing to be… ashamed of.” He smiled. “I think it’s pretty cool. But, uh,” he ran a hand through his hair. “Do you care to explain?”

Clint glanced from Amidala to the boy, Derek, back and forth.
He smiled and slipped an arm around Amidala’s shoulders. “Sorry Derek, but I already promised Amidala here that I would take her to the dance. Maybe you’ll have better luck with another girl.”
Before Derek could reply, Clint steered Amidala down the hall and towards her classroom.
He sighed and rubbed his hands on his jeans. “Sorry about lying…I just didn’t like that guy already. No way I’d let him take you to a dance.”
He smiled to let her know he was sincere, because she was his friend.
Reuben
Reuben waved to his brothers that he was parting with, all of whom were in PE except for Joshua, who was in Home Ec.
He turned and made his way down the hall the opposite direction, Dietrich falling in right behind him.
Reuben chuckled and turned around to face his stepbrother. “I never thought you’d decide to do Art as an elective.”
Dietrich rolled his eyes, but Reuben knew he was playing. “You obviously know nothing about me, Reuben.” He winked to let Reuben knew he was kidding.
Reuben laughed and turned back around. “Oh, there it is.” He said, seeing the door to the Art classroom.
Dietrich reached and grabbed the door, holding it open for the two of them, along with a couple other students that were right behind them.
Reuben stepped into the classroom, taking in the sights.
Ahh, he could smell the paint. The beautiful, beautiful paint.
Except he didn’t recognize everyone…heh, he uh…he wasn’t good at talking to new people.
“See anyone you recognize?”
Reuben shook his head….but oh, then he saw him. He pointed. “I see Paxton…but he’s closer friends with Wolfgang than me.”
“And for his sake, I’d better stay away from him,” Dietrich tapped on Reuben’s shoulder, “come on, let’s go sit over here.”
Reuben followed his stepbrother to two seats close to the back of class.
Loki
Loki smiled at Skylar. “It will be fine, you’ll see. We’ll see each other at lunch, won’t we? Come on, you’ll have fun in dance class!” He winked.
Hilda
She was seething.
How dare Adolphus every dump her!?
She huffed and continued down the hall, on her way to ballet class.
Except she had totally forgot where it was…Adolphus had been a total distraction during English class.
She saw two young men and smiled, sashaying over to them.
The winged boys, Headmistress Lilith’s oldest boys.
Hilda walked up to them, flipped her blonde hair, and smiled sweetly. “Excuse me, but would either of you handsome young men know where the ballet class is, by any chance?”
