sigh… imma just write a recap….cuz this RP for some reason AIN’T going thru….
basically Calvin asks if Pax is okay, and if he can speak, to which Pax nods that he can. Calvin then gently comments how he scares kinda easily (not condescendingly, more worrisomely) and how Paxton’s backpack seems important to him.
Paxton shies away a bit after the backpack comment which makes Calvin apologize. He then asks where Pax is going next, and Pax doesn’t know cuz he has time to burn and doesn’t want to risk a run in with any strangers or his brothers.

Arthur stood, running a hand through his hair. He shot a smile at me, nodding his head towards the door. “Wanna join? I’m gonna try to meet up with some of my roommates. Dunno where they are, but you’re welcome to come and bask in my presence.”
I looked at the boy, he had so much confidence. I would love to think that I’m that confident, but truthfully I’m not. My insecurities get the better of me most of the time, and I’m left with more pain than confidence. But still, this boy was sweet, maybe a little egotistical but I didn’t mind that.
“Is there enough room for me and your ego?” I said with a grin,

“I’m Thorn,” the younger girl said, brushing back a lock of hair, then giggling because her bandage got stuck. “Are you new?”
“Uh… yeah I am,” I shrugged, truthfully I didn’t like it here, it was just another place to add to my list of homes.
I looked at the girl, she seemed nice, but that wasn’t always a good thing. But I didn’t want to be rude and get a bad reputation.
“I have to get to my elective, do you know where dance is?” I asked, looking around the school.

“Honestly, I have no idea,” Thorn said, scrunching up her nose and ripping the bandage free of her face. “Here, I’ll help you – give me a minute?”
She dug through her backpack and pulled out a dark red bandana. Using her teeth, she tore it in half, and stuffed one piece in her pack for later, while the other was fitted snugly over the bandage with a cute knot.
“There.” She nodded, satisfied. “Okay, so let’s find Dance.”
They peeked into a few rooms nearby, but none had tons of open floor, let alone dancers.
Thorn found a map on the wall, and studied it for a good while, turning her head this way and that, like a corkscrew. “It’s got to be somewhere… Ah, next to Band and Theater. Let’s go.”
They walked for a while, Thorn with a bit of a spring in her step, Sara slowly and carefully.
The girl had an expression of someone trying to look normal, when they had just swallowed a whole jar of pickles.
In other words, she didn’t look particularly happy.
Thorn started walking backwards in front of Sara, and smiled as warmly as possible. “What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue?”

“Something like that,” I hesitated, I didn’t like talking to people, which is probably why school was one of my least favorite things. “I’ve just been to a lot of places, and I usually don’t stay long.”
We went back to silence, until finally, I worked up the courage to say something. “So how long have you been here?”

Arthur laughed, smiling. “Hey, you’re pretty funny. I think we could find some space for you,” he smirked, placing his hands in his pockets.
“Come on, we’ll check out the lunch hall first.”
“But it’s not lunch time just yet?”
“No, but I’m feeling snackish. And I have ways of getting my hands on some early munchies.”
“Of course you do,” Evelyn rolled her eyes, smiling a bit.

“I got here yesterday morning.”
The two girls stopped in front of the ballroom doors.
“But,” Thorn said, hat ribbons fluttering in the breeze from a nearby window, “You should try… Try to have a pleasant time, I mean. It’s like when my friend was teaching me how to drive.”
(Now every time someone mentioned driving lessons to the Dogchild, his teeth would rattle for the rest of the day.)

I gave a half-hearted smile and then looked down. “Maybe but then you’re not disappointed, or hurt. Because you saw them coming.” I looked at the Ballroom it was bigger than any other dance studio I had seen. “But uh… thanks,” I gave a gentle smile as I walked into the room.
I couldn’t bring myself to believe that I wouldn’t get hurt here.
