Having just finished their sparring, she and Skylar were now walking side by side down the hall, heading back to their dorm. She wondered if Riya was there waiting for them or if she was off doing something else. Had Bucky asked her to the dance yet? Vallaney suspected he would. And apparently Skylar already had a date. Vallaney was excited for them, she really was, but maybe a little jelous too.
They were several years older than her, and she hadn’t yet met anyone else who seemed around her age. Who would she go with to the dance? If Devian didn’t ask, would anyone?
She tried to shrug off her meloncholy. It didn’t matter. She was here to learn. She would start her plant studies, and join a dance class like she’d always wanted. It would all be great.
They soon made it to their dorm room and Vallaney waited for Skylar to get out a key and open up the door. She waited a beat before they both headed inside for the night.

Corvina
Corvina watched as Hilda stood from the bed, approaching the blonde with a smile. Arthur blinked, leaning back slightly as she drew closer.
“I…ah…” He stuttered, glancing at Corvina with a raised brow. “Hadn’t really…”
“Someone like you must have tons of girls lining up, just waiting for you to ask them, hm?” Hilda batted her eyes again, flicking a strand of Arthur’s hair.
The boy paled.
Corvina’s fists clenched, nostrils glaring at the sight. Arthur was obviously uncomfortable with Hilda’s advances, but she continued, uncaring.
“But are any of them deserving of you?” The snake asked.
Corvina’s heart thumped, anger rising in her chest. Before she could even think, she pushed out, shoving Hilda to the side.
“HE’S ALREADY ASKED ME YOU HUSSY!”
Hilda fell back onto the bed, eyes wide. Arthur’s eyes were wide, mouth open like a fish out of water. His cheeks turned pink suddenly, and the side of his mouth upturned slightly.
Corvina blinked, pursing her lips, anger still bubbling, but her face flushed a slight pink.
Oh gosh…what have I done.

“Don’t say a word…”
Corvina huffed, walking down the hall, Arthur next to her, grinning madly, cheeks still tinted a bit of pink.
“So…you’re going to the dance with me, eh?”
“I only said that to get you out of there.”
“I was fine, thank you very much.”
“Oh, sure.” Corvina glared at him. Arthur swallowed, shrugging her off.
“Back the the earlier comment…the dance…?” He leaned in close, wiggling his brows.
“No. I’m not going. Much less with you.”
“Ah! Too late! Pretty sure I heard you say you were going with me.”
“Pretty sure you didn’t ask!”
“Alright, if that’s the problem,” Arthur flipped around in front of her, smiling. He flipped his hair dramatically, raising his brows and holding out a hand. “Dearest Corvina!”
“Oh gosh…shut up.” Corvina growled, looking around, cheeks turning red as people stopped to look at the spectacle.
“Would you accompany me to the dance?”
Corvina glared daggers at the blonde.
“No.”
“My heart! I’ve been wounded!” He flailed onto her shoulder. She groaned.
“If I say yes…will you go back to your own dorm…and leave me alone?!”
“…yes…?”
“….fine…I’ll go to the dance with you…”she muttered.
“Sorry, what was that?”
“I SAID I’LL GO YOU IDIOT.”
Arthur grinned, shooting finger guns at the girl as he walked away.
The students watching nearby clapped and whistled and Corvina shot them all glares, shutting them up.
She stalked back to her room, annoyed as all get out.
