Ah, ok, sorry, lol. It’s part of our Church that we don’t drink coffee or tea, (well, tea is a little more nuanced, like herbal tea is fine, it’s more just black tea) and a lot of people like to tease us about it a lot. Sorry I assumed, lol!
Oh, ok. Gotcha. 😉
You’re good! I was completely clueless until now. XD 😀

February 17, 2023 at 3:50 pm #133455Welcome! I’m Acancello! I’m also home schooled and I too love acting! I also love guinea pigs, dogs, traveling, trying weird food, writing, reading, talking and a lot more:D ! I’m so glad you could come to KP! OK, now I’ll ask you some hopefully not already asked questions 🙂
Whats your favorite book series?
Do you like to do any crafting or sports? (Kinda a random question, but I know some people, like me, don’t play any sports. I just like to run):D
Do you just like 80’s music or do you also like the style of clothes and stuff like that?
Hope you enjoy Kingdom Pen as much as I do!
"Would you kindly...?"
February 17, 2023 at 3:52 pm #133456I’m slowly learning Spanish using an app, but in a year or two, I’ll be learning it in school.
Yeah, I’m also using an app (Duolingo). I think it helps me stay focused to just do a little bit but do it every single day.
Plus, the people there, [specifically Ireland] have great accents.
I can’t believe I didn’t think of the accents! *facepalm* You’re absolutely right, they are great and I’m trying to learn to do an Irish accent (it keeps slipping into British though…). Accents are a lot of fun, and another reason to learn a language.

I’m currently reading The Ranger’s Apprentice, and it’s great!

I don’t do sports either really, but as far as crafting goes sometimes I’ll get a new thing I want to do for, say, several weeks and then I end up having trouble sticking with it (oh well).
Do you just like 80’s music or do you also like the style of clothes and stuff like that?
I do like some of the clothes stuff (trying to find somewhere I can buy black Converse All-Star hi-tops) but not leg warmers or *tons* of bright color, shoulder pads are okay though.
I also like TV from the 80’s like The A-Team and MacGyver – I’m actually creating Murdock (from the A-Team) T-shirts of my own. I guess that counts as a crafty thing, too.

Congratulations on being home schooled…I am too! I checked out some of the music bands on your profile. They look great! Have you heard of Petra? They’re an older Christian rock band and my siblings and I enjoy their music.
He must increase, but I must decrease.

I’m using Duolingo as well!! I used to do it daily, but when I broke my 60-something day streak (😭), I didn’t care so much about keeping the streak anymore. XD

Almost every accent I try slips into British. XD Accept for like Spanish or Middle-Eastern.

2. Which characters of yours are you most excited about?
3. What types of codes or ciphers are you interested in?
4. Am I understanding correctly, your story is a comic book/graphic novel?
XD My siblings and I rock out to Petra waaaay too often. But it’s fun.

(Part of) Isaiah 45:19February 17, 2023 at 5:47 pm #1334771. What’s your story about?
Two girls, Jannira and Esia, who are currently training to be basically cops, but with magic weapons, and are trying to track down a gang of sort-of demons.
2. Which characters of yours are you most excited about?
Even though Jannira is supposed to be the main character, I think I like Esia more, probably because I know more about her. She wears a lot of neon, has 19 glow bangle bracelets, and she loves watching events at The Dome.
3. What types of codes or ciphers are you interested in?
Well, for one thing, I’m bigger on making them than breaking them. A lot of the codes I’ve made in the past have been one-for-one subsititue one letter with one symbol, or one phonetic letter with one symbol, but I’m a big fan of my newest one – Dahdihkahsah – which is designed to be spoken. It’s very easy to learn, deerih vahmahdahroo, Dee’koosah mihsahmihdihvihdeesoosahkah deeroo.
4. Am I understanding correctly, your story is a comic book/graphic novel?
That’s the plan, anyway… So far, most of the work I’ve done has been writing it more like a norml book trying to work out the plot. But generally when I have an idea I can tell whether it’s a book (which it usually is) or a movie or, in this case, a comic book.

XD I’m having the same problem right now with my fan-fiction. I have a main character and I like him a lot but I’m more excited about the antagonist and his sister right now…

Cool! Heh, I used to do that. However mine were never spoken, that’s an interesting concept.

Oh, neat! XD
Yay another person who is doing a graphic novel!"...I did not say to the seed of Jacob, 'Seek Me in vain..."
(Part of) Isaiah 45:19February 18, 2023 at 5:13 pm #133634Hearing more about Dahdihkahsah, I realized that my parents do the same thing! They speak with each other in a coded English when they don’t want us to know what they’re talking about😅🙃

I also really like my antagonist(s) for this story! I don’t really want to say much more about my antagonist(s) because it’s a huge plot point, but honestly, Jannira is kind of the least interesting one right now which is a definite problem…

Yay! I went looking for any drawings I did for it but all I could find were the bad guys’ weapons.
I do have a lot of short written snippets with dramatic descriptions & such from working out the plot. Working on a story without dramatic descriptions… I’ll miss them, but I can have pictures! And that’ll probably work better for the dramatic fight scene(s?).

Hah! I’m going to have to try that around my little brother sometime…
Would you like to learn Dahdihkahsah? (I may be looking for an excuse to explain it…)

God is king but rock 'n roll might be secondFebruary 18, 2023 at 8:14 pm #133661Ok, let me see if I got this. If I want to say “But what about Dragons?” I would say: Rahdooroo kooreemahroo mahrahdihdooroo Kahvihmahmeedihrihmoo?
Did I do that right? This is really cool! It actually reminds me of how I did one of my conlangs. It’s not a cipher or a coded English, it’s a true constructed language, but I did something similar. It’s called S”halek, and it’s spoken by a fantasy race I created called the Shal’le. What sets them apart from humans (though they were originally derived from humans) is that where we think with one main line of thought, only one task at a time basically, they have two. They have two completely independent lines of thought, able to multitask and stuff. There’s a lot of pros and cons to this, and I’ve worked out a lot of how society works for them, but I won’t get into that unless your interested. What I’m getting at is their language. Because they are able to think this way, they can hear two different things, and process them at the same time, but they don’t have two mouths, just one head, so speech is still linear. How their language works to make up for this is where they have one language, with a whole second language encoded into it. I did this in a very similar fashion to what you did with Dahdihkahsah with a table, but backwards. Where you unpacked information to make it longer and more ambiguous, S”halek compounds information to be shorter and efficient. The word S”halek just means two speak, and if uncoded would come out as shelek keshe. Sorry for my tangent, but it reminded me a lot of that.
