Poor Jake… :'( Love the lines, though!
Ruben sounds like an amazing brother and an amazing character! I’m a fan already. đ
Agh, I love the accent! Otto sounds like a fun guy. XD
Aww, thank you so much! <3333
*chilled by first two lines* *heartbroken by the last line* I wanna give a Keenum hug… He sounds like he could use one… :'( *sniff* Agh, I love him already!!!!! XD XD

LOVE IT!!! XD XD XD
October 16, 2021 at 7:14 pm #106191Fantasy sounds right. If it’s more along a realistic trail like Rangers apprentice, I suppose it might be midieval fantasy.(prolly my fave genre)
How you’ve described is pretty much how I construct my book too! Usually when I’m thinking of scenes, I kind of let them roll around in my head for a bit then slap them on some paper. Advive? I’ll help any way I can!
*sighs* Character death. How you belovedly never fail to torture. Ugh them decisions.
Ohh, German. I was blinded by old American spy movies XD
Sadly, no, I don’t know any Russian, other than what my employer’s father has spoken before, when we met. As of now, I’m learning Korean, and hammering out my English. Funny how even though I’ve spoken it all my life it still makes no sense XD
Its so cool that you’re learning Russian! How are you learning?
Aww, thanks!

#ProtectSebOctober 17, 2021 at 3:15 pm #106204Ah, English, that wonderful headache.
I’ve heard Korean is difficult. What do you think of it, and how are you learning?
I’m using Babbel, Duolingo, and a Russian preschool book.

Fork the GorkOctober 17, 2021 at 3:27 pm #106205Thank you, @lydia-s. He’s one of my best.
Yes, medieval fantasy sounds right. That’s exactly how I work.
And yes, I think Ruben will die, *Cue tragic music* but it depends on how the story goes. Why is it so hard to decide?!

October 17, 2021 at 7:31 pm #106217Thank you!
Yeah… Jake definitely doesn’t have it easy… but also, he kinda deserves it.
I know how you feelđ! For some reason I am always tempted to kill off every character I possess at some point.
We crazy people are the normal ones.
October 17, 2021 at 9:57 pm #106233Oof, Korean is hard sometimes. I think I only struggle mostly with pronouncing the vowel sounds accurately… and sentence structure… and formal tones… and… you get the picture. It’s great to learn tho!
Learning is made a lot easier, since I’ve been blessed with a tutor who’s half Korean, and can speak and read it. I was nannying her kids one day, and she was like, “hey, I have a half hour lunch break in between work at twelve, if you need to learn anything for college, I’ve got some skills!”
I was like, “sure, thanks!”
Next week I came back, and she had a Korean college text book ready for me. I’ve only been learning for a few months, but it’s fun, and challenging.Learning like that sounds hard… do you know anyone personally with Russian roots?

Oh nooOooOoOOoo! Letting go of a child is always difficult. Â But seriously, one night I was sitting on my bed writing and looked over at my sis, who knew very little abt my WIP and told her: “Yea, my MC gonna die by the end of the book.” and she was like, “MURDER.”
So that was traumatic.October 17, 2021 at 11:33 pm #106246It is traumatic. I was telling my brother about my book and about Rubin, when suddenly I stopped and just said “oh no.”
He started laughing.
Since then it has been a battle of ‘why’. If his death wasn’t a pivital point in my story, he would have a good chance of surviving. As it is, I already have a song for his funeral.

October 17, 2021 at 11:55 pm #106247It does sound difficult! The Russian things I struggle with the most are word form, grammer, and spelling (but I struggle with that in English too, so…).
I know a Russian lady through BQ, (She loaned me the pre-school book.) But I only see her at BQ tournaments.
Question: Was the book a Korean college book, or a college Korean book?

Fork the GorkOctober 18, 2021 at 12:08 am #106248I understand. I was going to have a MIA, but when I couldn’t leave him gone I sacrificed his friend instead. (And now I’m having second thoughts again)

Fork the GorkOctober 18, 2021 at 4:13 am #106249Hi, @ lydia-s !
Iâm gonna jump in with lines from the favourite character in my book (heâs the best friend of one of my two protagonists):
Character name: Yusīñien Riavoné
âYou can see people, M. Thatâs a gift. Tactics, statistics, the bigger picture ⊠thatâs what Iâm good at. But youâre good at caring about individuals â all of them. Thatâs why youâll make such a great king, someday.â
âAmbushes. Of course thereâd be no ambushes, would there, SĂ©gha? Because  the best spy in the army scouted ahead.â
âBesides, most worthy causes arenât accomplished on the first try. But at least weâve had our first try.â Yusīñien gazed across the lake. âNext time, we can use the experience weâve gained to ensure the outcome is better.â
âYet it could also be something that effects future generations in ways we canât even imagine ⊠even though weâre all but brief moments among millions, sometimes our smallest actions can tip the scales in a truly magnificent way.â A smile lit his face. âItâs quite thought-provoking to consider, wouldnât you agree?â
âIâll gloat all I want, thanks,â Yusīñien said, ânow that I have you under my thumb. Hmm-hm. So simple, so easy âŠâ
So, this character is a tactician and some philosophically minded. These probably donât work out of context, but ⊠hope you all enjoy them anywayđ
Iâm just gonna tag a bunch of people: @elanor @morgan @jodi-maile @keilah-h @elishavet-pidyon @scripter-of-kingdoms
Sorry if I left anyone out!
The end of a story, a beautiful picture; a feeling of longing yet hope~
Thatâs my wish to create.October 18, 2021 at 4:26 am #106251I love your quotes and the sound of your story, @elishavet-pidyon !đ Your story sounds interesting ⊠I look forward to when you publish it! Also, I love that youâre writing medieval fantasy with no magic, cause thatâs exactly what Iâm doing toođ. And when it comes to killing off characters ⊠I once had my little sister chase me across the lawn with a broom cause I killed off a character. Then she drew a picture and mourned him for a day. đ Then Iâm contemplating killing off a couple of characters at the very end â and she glares at me whenever I bring it up.
Also, there is one character Iâm definitely killing off that I also recorded a whole lament forđąđ.
And yours @issawriter7 !đ Man, that first line grabbed me! And your title is really coolđ I write YA fantasy as well, so I think thatâs really cool. My book is called Dual Heirs.
