It’s complicated 🥲 I moved from the Midwest to the South four years ago.
I start talking in a southern accent whenever I’m being playful (I already knew how since I was a huge fan of Mark Twain) or romantic? And I shift without noticing. Like I call my mom “momma” now, and I call my dad “dadder” with a twang. None of the rest of my family do this.Um… I’m trying to think of what I sound like…
”Oh, you were gonna have the last slice? Tha’s okay, man. No prob, I’ll jus’ have some puddin’ if I can find it. Don’t give the crust to the dog, or’ll barf it up.”
…That looks really heavy on the accent, but it’s less accent, just slurred. And I don’t always talk that way, especially in serious conversations.
Now I’m confused 😂

Okay. Ayla is 15, and from a spyfi. She has waist length dark brown hair, brown eyes, pale skin, pink cheeks, and is about 5′ 7”. I don’t have an image for her yet.

July 15, 2024 at 7:17 pm #182832@theducktator spyfi, you say?
I want her to have a conversation with my guy now. He’ll probably hate it. That’s what’ll make it funny. lol.
Where'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.
July 16, 2024 at 12:10 pm #182887@whalekeeper That’s cool! It’s kinda weird thinking about how we don’t know what our online friends’ voices sound like. I guess I just sound northwestern since I grew up in the PNW. I also have a slight teaser lisp. 😖 It’s not very noticeable but it still bothers me sometimes.

July 16, 2024 at 12:14 pm #182891@theducktator Ok I’ll try to think of some good questions.
Ayla, what is something you’d say you’re pretty good at?

Once I sprained my wrist from doing it on tile, so I usually try to do it on the carpet. Sometimes I deliberately lose stick sword duels with my brother so I can die tragically after he stabs me.”

July 16, 2024 at 8:52 pm #182952Now my mom says I don’t talk slurred, I just abbreviate everything I say and/or jump to rhetorical conclusion, which leads people to react as if my speech is messed up.
Sorry my brain is attached to this topic 😅 Is your voice higher or lower pitched?

July 16, 2024 at 9:01 pm #182953Would anyone like to interview one of my charries?

July 16, 2024 at 9:05 pm #182954I can! They may get some odd questions though.

July 16, 2024 at 9:55 pm #182958Sure! Odd questions would be fun!
I’ll give you a choice. You can choose one or all.
- Mandin Owen Ward–A kindhearted Space Skwad Guardian. From Guardian Angels, a space story.
- Igua Dyke Cloak–A young, rash man who is trying to be a superhero with help from his friend Skullcrusher. From Igua and his Horse
- Nae Rose Nayhelm–The young version of her may talk your ear off XD. Her older self needs some work. Makes an appearance in The Returns.
- Robert Robinson–beware, this fellow is an early charrie from back when I was trying to write Historical fic, meaning he will probably have some rough edges. An often serious ex marine who helps out an archaeologist team. From The Solomon Team.

July 16, 2024 at 10:37 pm #182960Don’t apologize. It’s a cool topic. I don’t typically think about what I sound like this much.
I’m an alto, so I guess lower. You?
