Mikkel
Sorren crossed his arms, now glaring at everyone in general.
Alright then.
Mikkel struck out, knocking the man back and down. He fought well, but the Mariner had already won before the fight started. Sorren just didn’t know it yet.
Still didn’t know it when he went limp with Mikkel’s arm around his neck.
Mikkel stood and picked up his rifle. “Let’s go, chaps.”
He started walking down the hall, long even strides.
(He just cut off the blood circulation to Sorren’s head. He’ll wake up in a little bit with a splitting headache, but otherwise no injury)

Riker let out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding.
Sorren was unconscious.
Done.
Temporarily, at least.
“We should get moving.” Steve, the one in the…odd outfit, said, stepping forward, just as his friend, Bucky, set Verity back down. “After all…you said there were guards and hounds close by.”
Riker nodded. “There are.” He glanced back at Leon. “…Thank you.”
Leon looked at him, their eyes met, and Leon merely nodded and walked away.
Riker felt November clutch his hand.
He squeezed November’s hand and offered him a smile.
November smiled back.
Jayden
Sorren was done.
Jayden rubbed Trevyn’s back. “It’s okay Trevyn…he’s gone now.”
Trevyn opened his eyes, glancing around warily, then turned to Jayden with a small smile. “…He is.”
Jayden smiled. Stood, taking Trevyn’s hand. “He sure is.”
“Are you two okay?” Asher asked, his brows furrowing in concern.
Jayden nodded. Squeezed Trevyn’s hand. “Yeah. We’re good.”
Asher smiled. “Thank goodness. Hey…uhm…Mikkel, was it? Thanks for that. He…already caused us trouble.”
“As he always does.” Payton mused, walking over, Leon beside him. He put his dagger up. “But should we get a move on?”
Riker nodded, stepping forward, still clutching November’s hand. “I think we should. The guards could be anywhere by now.”
The others didn’t protest, so Jayden guessed that they agreed.
Steve stepped forward. “I’ll take the rear.”
Jayden smiled faintly. Probably a good thing.
He didn’t think anyone was brave enough to mess with those muscles.

November
November gave one last glance at the unconscious man, feeling a bit of pity for him, but not enough to want to stay.
If he’d been that hard to get along with earlier, he could only imagine how upset he’d be when he awoke…And November much rather wanted to be far far away when that happened.
Preferably with the rest of his friends.
He frowned, brows furrowing. In all the hustle, he’d nearly forgotten their goal…
Were his friends okay?
Was Ara okay?
Riker gave his hand a squeeze and he looked up to find the man was smiling. He returned it, grateful to see the man in a better mood.
He glanced back at the ones behind him. The man at the rear was…exceptionally strong-looking.
November felt extremely small by comparison.
And his friend? Made him feel even smaller.
And a bit nervous.
The blonde one’s outfit was definitely…colorful. To say the least. Jocelyn would’ve extremely enjoyed it. Probably would’ve gushed over it and asked where he’d gotten it.
It was right up a Cirquian’s alley.
The same blonde smiled, catching sight of November’s staring. November paled, shoulders raising in tense apprehension.
He suddenly felt very self-aware, being surrounded by people much…more capable looking then him.
Men, much more capable then him.
His insides churned, feeling like he was once again back home. Where everyone was bigger…
Better then him.
All the farm boys and marketeers. He knew how everyone back home saw him…
“Klutz.”
”Accident.”
“Boy just can’t keep his feet under himself, can he?”
”Wouldn’t know a horse from a mule, even if the Light One’s Grace shone upon him!”
Heh…that last one had been said after a particularly embarrassing mix up of names…
November winced at the memories.
It wasn’t like they were wrong…
He wasn’t anything special…
He was a rich kid…
A rich kid who didn’t even have the privilege to appear rich…
He glanced at his shaggy looking appearance.
He just…never measured up.
“Dunno why the princess hangs out with him.”
”Probably cause of his daddy. Probably paid her or sumthin.”
“She should be hanging out with me!”
November’s fingers twitched, slowly slipping from Riker’s hand. Riker glanced at him, out of the corner of his eye, but November ignored him.
He blinked away the emotion forming, swallowing the lump in his throat.
No…Ara…wasn’t like that.
She’d never be like that.
Though he’d never understand it, Ara…was one of the few that cared…
Even if no one else did.
MY POOR BOI!
sooo this is trauma that even y’all umm didn’t even know about rlly…but yes this is some of the things he dealt with in A’Grend as well 😔
