His name is Armayas. Long, shoulder length black stringy hair, about fifteen years old, with a strong body from years off farm work. Tanned skin, and quiet, haunted, almost shy eyes. And thin, pursed lips. He stands straight however, as he was once a prince.

Hey, guys. I have been looking on all the art here and… Do any of you guys want me to draw one of your characters for you? Then you can do one of mine in return. I desperately need two of my guys drawn. I am actually not that good, but I love drawing. Only… I have one problem. I haven’t figured out how to draw boys/men yet. Still, if you have a girl character for me to draw, I would love to give it a shot.

I’m not a fabulous artist but he’ll do XD I had fun drawing him.
Also @filewriterbase13x I’d be happy to draw some of your guys! Brant (see above) is not a good example of my male drawing skills, since I did him pretty quickly (about 15 minutes) as I didn’t have much time.
But if you want help drawing men, here’s one tip I’ve learned that I’m trying to implement: girls are built of circles and curves, and guys are built of boxes and angles. So when sketching out their figure, build them out of those shapes. There are a ton of YouTube tutorials for this too.
@julia-r. Yay! Thanks for the tip. I will definitely keep that in mind. A lot of people use circles as a base for their people and then work off of that. I don’t really have much experience with that, but I still know what you mean when you say that girls are more round.
OK, I’ll let you draw Jared. He is my MC’s older brother. He is a soldier, has thick dark brown hair and blue eyes, and is tall and muscular. He is a bit of a joker, but is serious when he has to be.
I can’t wait to see how it turns out. Do you have a character for me to draw?
Oh, and I’ve noticed that people like doing other people’s characters sometimes without being asked. I just wanted to say if anybody else wants to also draw this character they can.

@filewriterbase13x what kind of soldier is Jared? Is this a historical book? Is it futuristic? What is the “aesthetic” of the book? (Steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy, medieval, etc)

@daughteroftheking thanks! 😊 I do a first sketch in pencil, line it in .3 and .1 Micron waterproof liners, then colour in watercolour. I did the white detail with a Sakura Gelly Roll white pen. Thanks so much for the drawing prompt!!!
@julia-r, oh sorry. I should have clarified. My book is sci-fi and takes place in the future, but the soldier uniforms look pretty much the same as modern ones do. If you want you can add a couple changes, but I imagine in pretty much like a modern uniform. I guess, desert cameo is how I imagine his uniform. Does that help? Oh, and he has black boots. And if you want to draw him out of uniform you can do that too. Just with a normal T-shirt and pants. Also, feel free to use your imagination on his clothing. 😀
