I really enjoyed experimenting with colored pencils for the background, and I really like drawing detailed dragons. The problem with having so much detail is that I often use pencils for my drawings. Pencils smudge easily and its hard to do shading without making the details hard to see, and its hard to color in the dragon without making the colors look muddy or to dark. So if my dragon has a lot of detail I like to give it a colorful background for contrast.

I’ve never read the Wing Feather Saga but a lot of my friends have recommended it to me, so I might get them from the library.
