Thanks! If you have a gmail account, you can go onto google drive and one of the features is google drawings. It’s a simple free vector art program, but it tends to be universally hated. I just like proving a point that it has great potential as an art program, you just need to learn a few tricks to abuse and take them beyond the limits that the feature was originally intended for. This one was actually thousands of arches with high transparency to create a glow gradient type effect. Excuse my rant…

I feel you in the land of google drawings. I personally love chromeOS (though I do kind of wish I had a newer computer to take full advantage of it). Once you know how to activate dev mode things become much more interesting…

Yep, lol! I haven’t even heard about any dev mode or OS! I really need let go of my strange obsession with my current software crutch and pay more attention to reality…

Thanks! That being said though, I really don’t think it’s a hard program to learn, it’s simple and intuitive. I think the hatred arises from the fact that it’s seen as a cheap program that doesn’t have a large variety of features, and it’s not always seen as a true “art program” because it’s mainstream use is for making diagrams for school and business. So most people that actually use it are likely just trying to learn it quickly to get an assignment done, and any confusion results in anger. Then most actual artists want a good quality program with a huge selection of features, so they likely never even try it. Also, there’s probably a stigma on vector art in general that it’s just pasting shapes and images, though it’s more than that. I think I’m just one of the few crazy enough to continue using it after school, so I’ve been able to refine the craft.

It’s funny how our drawing styles are opposite when it comes to drawing human characters lol. It’s really cool to get to talk to other artists and see their creations! It’s so hard to find anyone my age in person who’s into drawing. I’m not so alone anymore! 🙂
