As for the renderinggg, its definitely an improvement from a LOT of my works. Like I mentioned I’ve been watching a lot of tutorials and studying my favorite artists styles to gauge their techniques and its helped so much. One guy I love a lot has youtube tutorials and art content thats super fun and helpful, he’s called SamDoesArt and he’s really helped me improve the basics as well as simplify what seemed crazy hard before. With rendering I’ve kinda had to (and still have to) remember that I can’t just draw EVERY SINGLE DETAIL like I want to, because often less is more, just suggestions and simple lines that create the illusion of something will make it look better than hyperfixating on tiny little pixels like I normally do…

Oh cool!! Yes, I love watching his general stuff too, my favorite series are the Saving Your Art and the Turning Your OCs Into Villains, but yes his turtorials are also great, the best ones I think I watched were different ones about drawing head angles like side, front, quater view, and from below, and then how to color for beginners, and how to do backgrounds

No same T-T, I like never do backgrounds if I can avoid it. His biggest peice of advice on that has been do your background BEFORE you do your character, which I have never considered but he talks a lot about how it makes it a lot easier to paint your character lighting and make sure it all checks out. I still have yet to actually practice that one though…

I’m trying to focus on learning how to draw different body types rn. I’m realizing there’s a lot I haven’t learned yet.
