I just joined today, and was expecting no one to see my art, but not long after posting, i got favorited by people so obviously they did. In my looking at other accounts, I haven’t seen anyone with zero favorites unless they had just posted only minutes ago. I’m wondering if their algorithm is built so that everyone gets some level of exposure, which is great! Also, I did find one picture I think is ai, but I don’t see barely anything even resembling ai, which is so relieving. First day impressions: I really like it. They have so many options for people who create charries! Like you can talk about their personality, post snippets of writing, make worlds, and post multiple pictures to one charrie.
If you’re looking for some exposure and a (so far) great website for art and charries, I think it’s a good option. I have looked briefly into other art forums, but always see so much AI and this one was mentioned by the YouTuber Viyaura in one of her videos as being a no AI platform. And again, I saw one AI “art”work that had been posted mere minutes before, and everything else was obviously done by human hands.
So my first day impression is positive, only downside is the usual not a Christian community.
The site does have a place to display pronouns for the LGTBQ crowd. I personally just don’t fill that out and ignore it, but I know some Christians will not at all be affiliated with sites and places that do this, so just letting you know.

as for Unvale, can you filter out….less than nice stuff? I can ignore the pronoun thing (I just leave it blank)–pretty much every social media site does this nowadays, so it’s really just a matter of ignoring it and moving on. But my issue would be seeing the EXTREMELY UNSAVORY things that people draw a lot. I’ve managed to avoid it thus far and would like to keep my streak of not needing eye bleach.
also thank you!! I love anthropomorphic animals/hybrid human-animal creatures, but if I were to share them around, I would LIKELY get furry accusations, and I definitely don’t want that.

Did you use colored pencils?
Sort of. It’s a special type of watercolour pencil. So after I fill it in, I take a fine-tipped watercolour brush and blend the colours. Then I redrew some details.

I took a look at your art profile. It looks good. To be honest, anime/chibi styles aren’t my favourite in general, which makes it a little harder for me to give feedback. But for what it is, you do a good job. I still think you have excellent colouring and shading. I like the snake you shared, it’s cute. Keep it up!

I looked into it, they don’t have any content filters of that sort that I can find.
From exploring the site, I have seen stuff like you’d expect in outfits and topics from secular artists, but they are a strictly no NSFW content site, so I have not seen anything sexually inappropriate. (PS. Pfp by SelkieSeal on Unvale. My dear Chase ❤️?)@rae Ok good! Yeah, weird outfits….are just kind of a thing you have to ignore, again. I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t anything genuinely sexualized. It’s also cool how they’ve forbidden AI works to prevent stealing and cheating.
now to figure out what to do about my characters if I joined such a site. First off, a solid portion of my characters are merely modified versions of those from other people, and the rules specifically state you’re not allowed to post that kind of thing. And second, characters such as Snake and Sniper come from fandoms that I wouldn’t really trust anyone younger than maybe 15 with (My brother is an exception, cause he’s pretty mature for his age and knows better). I’ve messed with names and character descriptions before to hide a character’s true origins if I’ve changed him or her up enough, but it feels like cheating when I do it lol.

You could put a warning in the description saying that TF isn’t for people under 15 or something. In the end, you can’t stop people from looking it up, but putting a warning there might be good, and would remove you from responsibility.

@rae @grcr @keilah-h I made an unvale account over a year ago but then forgot about it. You guys inspired me to get back on and actually finish making my profile, lol. Seeing everyone’s art and character info in one place is really fun and helpful. I like it.
