      I could totally tell you how to draw lips on guys without it looking like girl if you want XD It’s actually pretty simple

      Asking you first because I was definitely not a part of this conversation lol

          Ok let’s see how well I can explain this XD I might send over some references if I find a good one

          So you only define the shadow under the bottom lip. It should be a line with a smaller line under it. If you look in the mirror, you’ll notice that the upper lip doesn’t stick out enough to warrant drawing unless it’s a major color change, or a girl with really big lips. Like if it’s a girl wearing lipstick, you might drawing the full outline, but for a guy, you just define the bottom lip. I’m talking about anime style here though lol, realism you draw the whole thing, but use light enough colors to make it not too obvious. I’m going to try to find a reference because it’s a little hard to explain XD

            Aha! I found a really good one. This is from the manga that helped me learn to draw people 🙂

            And this is Kageyama, he’s one of my favorite characters lol

            The line underneath the mouth is more prominent when the character is not smiling. If he were smiling, I wouldn’t have the bottom line at all, because the shadow wouldn’t be there. Because your lips are pulled tighter when you smile, there’s no shadow and not much to define.

                    Great tip! I do the same with lips! and sometimes using that mouth shape with a little hint of color can create a minimalist makeup look for some characters, and adding a bold dark shadow can hint at fuller lips

                        Aw, thanks! He’s an alien character from my space comic book. His name is Dante and he has fireproof skin. Technically he’s a side character, but he’s kinda taking over the story lol

                            @loopylin

                            My comic that I’m working on currently is a short based on the song Sound of Silence, as well as working on a fantasy comic about a soldier cursed with immortality trying to find the woman he loves who is also immortal, an elf trying to find his missing family, and a princess trying to return home.

                              Those sound really cool!

                              I’m kinda actually struggling with the plot right now, but it’s about two tiny alien sisters traveling around in their ship, trying to find their places in the universe and having a bunch of misadventures along the way. It’s currently very episodic, but later on I’ll introduce a larger plot.

                              Do you have any pages of either of those comics done?

                                @loopylin

                                Thank you!

                                I have the first half of the sound of silence comic almost done, I’ve been working on character designs, storyline, and worldbuilding as well as a couple of maps for the second one, but haven’t so much as a storyboard yet lol! (and let’s pretend titles don’t exist lol)

                                How do you format your comics? the sound of silence one is designed for a vertical  webcomic format and I have been drawing it as such, but I’m thinking I should gear my second one for a book format so if printed it would be easier to read.

                                I love your idea, what is the larger plot you plan on introducing? If you’re ok with answering this, what is your plan for the ending? I struggle with plot too, but I find it helps to figure out how I want it to end.

                                  How do you post pictures of your art on here? I’m trying by turning my Krita documents to jpgs, but KP keeps on saying the file is too big
