I often draw my characters to pin down their personalities. What about you? Would you like to share your own drawings of your charries? I’d love to see them 😉

September 2, 2022 at 9:07 pm #116702I have, but only two, and one of them has changed in appearance since then, but I so, so want to do more!
I intend to try to draw one of my MCs, Viktor, next. If I am able to draw him, I’ll try to share it.
If you want to share any of your drawings, I’d love to see them.
You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan

@whalekeeper. Though I am not in the least an artist, I have drawn some of my characters. XD
Leon, Aadelheide, Riker, Isabel, Albert, Evelyn, maybe a few others…I can’t remember all the ones I’ve drawn. 🙂

Here’s some of mine 😀
This is a cartoony self-portrait I did a while back 😀 I have not been able to replicate this style since

In the shriveled hand-keepSeptember 6, 2022 at 12:03 pm #116834This is something I painted for school a while back. I had to paint a scene from Exodus so I chose the scene where Moses comes down from Mount Sinai to see the golden calf.

@ava-blue Those are so well done!! 😀 I like your profile pic by the way, I smile every time I see it.#ProtectAdolinKholin
September 6, 2022 at 12:10 pm #116837Here’s one of my best deer yet 😀
This is a red stag. Most of the flowers in his rack are real, there are some daffodils, lilies, roses, peonies, and a bunch of jacarandas. I painted this guy with watercolors, as always 🙂

These are so cool! Aww your deer’s beautiful. I really like your art styles : )
Your water colors look very good. I always forget to use the proper water color paper whenever I draw, so I end up with something that looks like its trying to–very wrinkly– double over on itself
September 7, 2022 at 1:16 am #116999@anatra23 Thank you so very much! And I know how you feel sis, I do that more often than I’d like to admit 😅🤦🏼♀️ I would really love to see your work some time, if you ever feel like sharing! 😉

One of the many artistry mistakes we make XD
Here’s a Chinese partition screen that I painted for my mother. (It’s like 5 ft tall, took so long ;-; )I do have a few regrets, but I think I like it. (Some of the edges don’t align b/c the sheets became wrinkled and stretched… might’ve been my fault a little bit hehe but it’s okay.)

September 7, 2022 at 8:54 pm #117042Beautiful! The deer reminds me of my grandpa’s hunter cabin-like house. He’s got a huge one on his wall. (Except he isn’t a flowery-decor kind of guy, so… XD)
I know, right? I’m pretty brilliant XD
Just kidding, but you’re right in that it’s a good technique. I know a few other writers who do the same. It helps a lot when figuring out your character’s facial expressions, unique gestures, and overall presence, if that makes sense.
The only problem I found with it is when your characters are so cartoon-like, that you don’t know how to write that vibe into your story.

Do you use reference pictures often for drawing characters?
Awww thank you!
(Do ignore the pencil marks XD)
